.. I used original Buick/Olds 215 bellhousing... any GM manual tranny (pre-6-speeds) bolts up to it... use clutch disc with appropriate number of splines to match tranny input shaft splines... also using original semi-centrifugal clutch... disengages/engages and shifts easily at low RPMs... clamps down harder at higher RPMs... using 1977 Borg-Warner T50 5-speed tranny (for 4 and 6 bangers) with about 3.11 1st gear, about .80 (25% overdrive) 5th gear...
RCP, Race Car Products was the web name for Garner Industries of Edgewood, TX.
Unfortunately, Bill Garner died in 2010 and the business closed. I could not find any information on who, if anyone, is carrying their products or manufacturing them.
I am looking for some contact information for RCP because I really liked the Hydraulic unit you have (better than the Mcloud's I see out there) Can you send me some info on that?
Ken, what are the dimensions of the pilot bearing and did you have to trim the end of the trans mainshaft or is it the correct length, thanks for the vidieo, great quality except i think the volume was a little too low.
@pleximarz I used a 1/4" thick aluminum spacer I cut from sheet stock and mounted between the bellhousing and transmission. You can see it clearly at the 6:40 mark in the video. I bought a stock BOP replacement clutch kit. It was in the 120.00 price range. The HTOB came from RCP in Dallas, TX. The audio gets very loud on my iMac 27". Cheers, Ken.
