  • I love this novel! Is this the fully uploaded movie? If not, can anyone direct me to where I can find it? Thanks.

  • It's all about 0:43

  • Ahhh, Sophie Marceau...

  • Amazing novel! so pure was kostjas love to kitty and so passionate annas love to alexej wronkij!

  • THAT's Sean Bean!!!!n_n

  • sad,but wonderful.love is so amazing,sometimes,when it comes with a spark,and it keep you alive so many years{living desert-john galsworthy,}or,living reality and the pains of love or be loved,with a visible sign{romeo and juliet-shakespeare,drei kameraden-,erich maria remarque,anna karennina-lev tolstoi,gone with wind-margaret mitchell,wuthering heits-emily bronte,,le rouge et le noir-stendhal,madame bovary-gustave flaubert,la medeleni-ionel teodeoreanu,ion-liviu rebreanu,and so many more.

  • This is brilliant, thank you for making the video

  • She is not pale enough and he does not have a mustache. Two important things

  • this (1997) is a great version of Anna Karenina. why can you not find this movie ANYWHERE?!?!

  • @wozwood2009 have you tried torrents?? It should be available there

  • Sophie Marceau and Sean Bean, great actors

  • Not Peter

  • she is so perfect as anna karenina! where can i find the whole film? not the other versions but that of sophie marceu.

  • @sedoshka18 Nah, too much Latin features. Long face, big nose. Anna Karenina has overwhelming Slavic features with dark eyes. Sophie looks very elegant and pretty here though.

  • @thegreendestiny hmmm...she does not exactly look latin to me. not slavic much either but also not latin..does she? she is beautiful though. but i meant the sadness she carries in her eyes. that's what makes her anna karenina to me.

  • @sedoshka18 Her eyes are very sad indeed!

  • @thegreendestiny thank you so much! i did not know! i will look into it. (but i found anna karenina with s.m. under what i suspect is a russian alphabet)

  • @LostInTime87

    hahahahahah, great joke!!

  • @LostInTime87

i would say Russian women :D

  • This Is Tolstoy's..

  • can someone please upload the soundtrack of this wonderful movie?

  • Hello...I just checked my messages for the first time and was a bit shocked to read the negative-to say the least-comment by a one "David2thousand" regarding a comment I supposedly left 3 months back. Unfortunately I couldn't read it as it seems 2 have disappeared. I would have NEVER made any mean-spirited comments a thumbs down would be sufficient 4 me.I sincerely apologize if the comment offended anyone else.I do share my PC w/ many people & regret that my account was used 4 such nonsense

  • Amm me parece que la historia va muy bien con la musica e incluso con la historia de "El lago de los cisnes" pero pienso que lo unico que te falto en el video es la parte del suicidio hubiera estado bien que asi terminara jejej

  • it is tchaikovsky because it is a movie based on tolstoy novel

it would have to be rachmaninov if this was a dostoyevsky novel

  • @garaktersiz

    Why?

  • Аффтар сцуко жжотт!

  • A wonderful film, and of course the Swan Lake waltz is superb. The subtleties of their expressions are marvelous..

  • A wonderful film, and of course the Swan Lake waltz is superb. The subtleties of their expressions are marveloue..

  • heard this movie was terrible. got a 23 percent on rotten tomatoes. what do u guys think?

  • Sophie Marceau is just as beautiful as the music. This is an exemplary example of a beautiful woman. You could keep your "big booty hoes" and what-not. French and Spanish women are the most beautiful in the world (well, in my opinion)

  • @DehydratedManatee

Oh my God I cant agree with you more

this movie made me fall in love with Sophie Marceau

when I first saw this, I was little and wasnt sure what she was. spanish? italian? maybe even philipino?

her face is incredible, her swagger is SO ELEGANT

Forget Eye candy, she is Eye Ecstasy

  • Super

  • This is a great vid w/ terrific editing! I thought that Sean Bean did a good job, as did Sohie Marceau. He's playing against type as an aristocratic soldier, too. The Brits and French are subtle w/ their acting usually, so more true to real life.

  • Idk if you can tell from this, but their chemistry doesn't look so good. Like on his side, he looks awkward.

  • Can someone tell if the film is as good as the book? Thanks :)

  • @Lorelai271 I loved this version of the film. The book was good, but it took a while to get through. Sophie Marceau did a great job portraying Anna in this movie! I have seen this movie at least 25 times now.

  • @caf68 Ok, thanks

  • Sophie Marceau is very beautiful in this movie. What a shame whenever she talks in French (her native language) to answer interviews for example, she is full of manners and quite annoying. She shouldn't open her mouth so uselessly just to keep her mystery. Her face and acting talk for her.

  • Imádádom ezt a két fő szereplöt annyira tetszik jó ajátékuk szépek. Multhéten ki hozztam akönyvtárból DVD és meg néztem kétszer most meg itt nézem az neten nagy jók. Üdv Adrien

  • I am almost finished the book (which, understandably, has taken me quite a while to read) but haven't seen any of the adaptations. Even so, I actually like this book! It's not my kind of read AT ALL, but i like how there's more than one story taking place and that Anna's relationship turns into an affair that pretty much produces a domino-effect for the rest of the events in the book/movie. I don't know if i can agree that it's the best book of all time, but it's definitely worth reading! :)

  • Dans le roman, Anna Karenina avait les cheveux brune fonces et les yeux gris, juste come Sophie Marceau.

  • This was very well done. I love the editing job that you did. You really captured the music and the emotion of the film.

  • I rwally want to read Anna Karenina but can anyone tell me their oppinion to the book ?

    Do like it ?

  • @PreppedforGlamour16

The book is a beautiful long walk is over 800 pages. It is written in old language, at least that is translated into Polish carefully.

We learn about many things that are not in the film.

There are many descriptions. I love this book, and often to her back. I highly recommend. Worth reading.

  • who is Anna Karenina?? a Russian Queen or something?

  • @PetitGrisMoineau, I'm not into Russian History. do you know who Monsenor Romero is??? what do I care about Russian History. I like Tchaikovsky, that's it!

  • @PetitGrisMoineau, Yes, I'm American. I'm not ignorant I have a master degree in Biochemistry. and I really have no time for TV because I'm too busy saving the world. and you probably Google Monsenor Romero. and finally the USA is the best country on earth...or you'll be speaking German right now.

  • @ShalaS, I'd like to tell you a story: I once knew this gang banger at school who used to bully just about every body. one day he picked on this 12 yr old at a bus stop, he beat him up. problem was that this 12 yr old was the little brother of a notorious gangster. 2 weeks latter that "Bully" was dead. he and his brother(who also happened to be a gangster) were dead. You are behaving like that "bully" by insulting people online you don't even know. That's childish, infantile. grow up!

  • @ShalaS, because one of these days you are going to bully the wrong person and....

life is more than just watching love stories on tv. have a good life.

  • Grande !!!!

  • Great Music!!

  • Does anyone know the music that is playing in this film when Anna and Vronsky meet for the first time at the train station? I have been desperately trying to find it online, with no luck!

  • YouTube the Great Great Grandfather in Composition of Peter I. Tchaikovsky:

    Iosif Andriasov

  • Wait, why did she kill herself?

  • @NeuronTree

Killed herself because she could no longer endure the situation. So she could not see each other with their son. Wronski suspected that it betrays. She began to regret having sacrificed everything for love, family abandoned a child. We all despise her because she betrayed her husband. She had had enough, she could not live with it anymore. Read this book is long but beautiful, Lew Tołsto was a talented writer.

Still learning English so if something is not clear to write.

  • @grzanka100 thank you. I can understand your English just fine.

  • i see this movie a lot of time...and i dont get tired...is beautiful and sad at the same time...and this is one of my favorites masterpiece by tchaikovsky...

  • please could you tell me where I can download this song, I tried at limewire but I can't find it :(

  • @pac914 I just downloaded it on limewire! search "tchaikovsky swan lake"

  • @iheartadrianalima Thank you :D I found it! I don't know why I couldn't :S but thank you so much :)

  • they dance like Bears

  • she looks exactly the way I always pictured Anna. I had no idea there was a movie adaptation. Vronsky looks like less of a cocky asshole than I'd pictured, though...

  • Simply splendid!!!!! Perla.

  • You ask why Anna karenina had dark hair. Well, Lav Tolstoi in the book, described her like that, exactly like this actress.

  • wunderschön! :'-)

  • That was stunningly beautiful.

Love both the music and the movie. Well done ^_^

  • I agree she can't be Anna Karenina she is dont have that overall Slavic beauty - round face like a doll, big blue/green eye - the Slavic women type of face like Russian, Polish, Ukrainian or Czech - but she know how to act at least

  • @WWPSdvia

tolstoy's description of anna in the book isnt slavic at all

she's described as a big woman, proeminent shoulders, black hair and big black eyes, white skin and catching beauty. I dont think Sophie fits at all for Anna, as she's got green eyes. btw, the way she's described in the book with such a personality and aura wouldnt fit for any woman in the world, she's just unbelieveble. But the best anna was Greta Garbo. If I was going to direct this movie nowadays, I'd put Famke Janssen

  • i've read the book, seen a ballet of Anna K but not seen a movie version yet. this looks like a good one to see! thank you for posting.

  • the story, the locations, the production, the actors, the music are just great. A great epic movie that matches the high standards of the original book of Leon Tolstoy. I wish we could have such kind of movies today

  • she's so freakin beautiful...Tchaikovsky is so freakin beautiful...OMG soo much beauty I can barely stand it!

  • ¡¡¡ Anna Te Amo !!!

  • She's not pretty enough to be Anna Karenina...

  • @LadyJennifer2010

Take it from a bloke ~she is pretty enough!

  • siphie spielt phantastisch, sie ist die beste karenina.

  • Sophie Marceau is wonderful! I love the book and movie too. All right there is no happy ending but it is perfect! An epic love...

  • bellissimo,cara carmen,un felice risveglio sabina,abbracci...

  • liked the movie, though the book is waaaaay better.

I remember reading it and diving into the world of anna karenina.

wishing I could go back in time to be there.

    its sophies best movie ever.

  • oh beautiful

  • ¡ Yea !

  • She's so specifically beautiful! And great video, thanks a lot!!!

  • Walked by Sophie Marceau in New York one day, Wow.

  • @P2055516 walked right by without even putting a quarter in her cup?!?

    that's not very charitable.

  • estoy de acuerdo: Sophie marceau es bellisima, está magistral en el papel de Anna Karenina.

y este vals realza su belleza.

  • =) this is an interesting video!!! well done !!!

  • BRAVO!!!!!!!!!

  • Elegance!

  • It's beautiful!!

  • wooow very beautiful video!

  • Well, to be able to comment on Anna Karenina ,one have to read this book, because without reading it... it is just a beauteful Holywood verzion of story...

Book is the best thing that can happen in readers lives! Enjoy it!

  • I agree with you becouse i'v finished read this book today morning...

  • The book is not all about Anna Karenina. She is the main theme but there are so many other events are going on in there, too. I love the descriptions of the hunting scenes and Konstantin's philosophical reflections and discussions. Great book and deserves more than one reading.

  • Poor thing throws herself in front of a train.

  • very good :)

  • I think this is one of the most beautiful waltz:)

  • gorgeous!!!

  • you're right...

  • Hey, thanks for your comment. But I think u just spoiled the movie... some people didn't know she dies in the end. That's why I didn't include some scenes in the clip. But, I guess it doesn't matter anymore xD

  • the only thing i knew about Ana was that she comitted suicide before i read book(still didn't finish it,because it's a love story without an end,and i hate that) :)))

  • @redhayate00 yea they ruined it for me lol! im reading the book

  • I think she committed suicide because first she lost her family and position for him and then she thought that he was cheating on her ...

    Was he?

  • @TheLeaveTaking yes thank you i was just about to read the book!

  • definitely read the book before you see the movie.the book one of the greatest, if not the greatest, novel ever written.it is not only clear why anna must commit suicide but inevitable.to me it is inevitable from the moment she meets vronsky. read tolstoy's kreutzer sonata if you want to get a better handle on his view of true romantic love; not unlike hemingway he found it to be disastrous and impossible, in the long run, to maintain -a passion so great as to overcome all else, especially logic.

  • THANK YOU! I've been waiting for someone to post this song forever! Amazing video by the way :D

  • Lovely compilation. Sean Bean is exquisite in this, and Sophie Marceau so beautiful.

  • This is very very beautiful and so, so sad!

Wonderful music and I so love the ballroom scene. I was ill a while ago and to make my self feel better I run that ballroom scene through my head. It works! Thank you so much for posting.

  • Thank u for ur comment, I love the video too xD !!! And IT IS a very sad story, with a tragic ending...

  • Sophie is gorgeous, this music amazing...

  • What is interesting is the way Sophie Marceau is loving Sean Bean : it's a torture for her because she feels a dignity with him that she's really discovering as a new kind of desire :

    Her eyes are expressing this:

This is where I want to be, this is what I need, this is where I want to be, This is what I need This is where I want to be , but I know that this will never be mine. The thrill and the hurting
