@ChristopherMrWells Don't hate. Seals don't know any better. The only reason the 'regular' Seal Teams were ever put up on a pedestal is because of the accomplishments of Seal Team 6. It's almost like a team of Green Berets thinking they are as high speed as Delta Force, but in reality there is no comparison. Seals don't train or operate among other combat units, so they never get a chance to see how they really compare to others. Hence, they live in a fantasy world of how good they are.

Marine SNCO who served in Recon, & in close combat (incl. as straphanger with a SOG team), & who has cross-trained with SEALs, all require physically & mentally demanding training, & all are useful in their own way. I'd serve with any of them again if the need arose. However, if tough training is the criterion, Russian Spetznaz is the most brutal.

All american Special Forces (SEALs too) are better trained mentally, and have better morale.... whereas in spetsnaz most of their casualties are not due to war or a special operation, its from training.... average spetsnaz soldier can prolly take more punches and drink more vodka than your average SEAL, Green Beret, or Force Recon, and yes Army Delta, Rangers, Airborne, check out russian VDV!

I don't think you can lump MARSOC and RECON together. They do have some skill/mission overlap but it's more like comparing apples to oranges. MARSOC is part of SOCOM, RECON is not.
You people do realize, majority of the jobs in the marine corps. Are non-combat jobs lol.. "Every marine is a rifleman" all that means is every marine must qualify, as a rifleman. Meaning they must be able to shoot from the 500 yard line. Majority of marines will never see any kind of combat. Only infantry guys, and other combat mos's will see some sort of combat. Marsoc was formed in like 2006, navy seals have been around for more than 60 years. It's just a matter of experience.

@SirKnightErrant I believe a National Guard unit helped Marines on Guadalcanal. The soldiers fought so well that it impressed ole Chesty himself. I don't know what division they were from but they were referred to as "jungle fighters" for their expertise.

I don't think you can lump MARSOC and RECON together. They do have some skill/mission overlap but it's more like comparing apples to oranges. MARSOC is part of SOCOM, RECON is not.

You people do realize, majority of the jobs in the marine corps. Are non-combat jobs lol.. "Every marine is a rifleman" all that means is every marine must qualify, as a rifleman. Meaning they must be able to shoot from the 500 yard line. Majority of marines will never see any kind of combat. Only infantry guys, and other combat mos's will see some sort of combat. Marsoc was formed in like 2006, navy seals have been around for more than 60 years. It's just a matter of experience.

@SirKnightErrant I believe a National Guard unit helped Marines on Guadalcanal. The soldiers fought so well that it impressed ole Chesty himself. I don't know what division they were from but they were referred to as "jungle fighters" for their expertise.

This is funny because I just heard a story from a scout sniper that said that he seen recon marines thrash navy seals in a full day race. The Marines bested them by half a day in running and a bunch of other obstacle's then they waited (this is best part) for them to catch up ( while eating lunch during the race) then to get in the pool they completely destroyed them in the water. the scout sniper was a instructor there in Hawaii so you and your jokes just make me laugh

I've taken many Psychology classes and parenting classes to know what shitty job lots of parents do. I also learned that there's no excuse for that shit.
