  • what key that you use in high note I mean what key of the second harmonica

  • high note is key C ?

  • I subscribe immitiately after hearing you play! Amazing! I'm a raw beginner and just into playing the harp (i'm just starting to learn how to blow in just one hole kinda hard lol) hopefully I'll be able to play like you.

  • This French guy plays a mean harmonica. This is my favorite song featuring a harmonica for real.

  • excelentes lecciones Paul! saludos desde Argentina!

  • Great ! But I just can't nail that 3'' !

  • @blindmaninanorgy Me too and I have practiced and practiced this. It shows you how good Lassey's breath and bending control is. I don't think the harmonica is modified in any way. He is just that good. Back to the sweat and tears.

  • what does " mean when it says -3 +4 -3 -3" -2... can anyone please explain?

  • @kevlarclassics it's chords minus symbols mean breath out by your mouth and addition symbols is breath in by your mouth :)

  • How do you make the fourth note with the C harmonica? I have one, but I haven't been able to figure it out...

  • yes it is plus facile in the key of do! je le joue too when i perform in stevie wonder's peau! :)

  • yes it is plus facile in the key of do! je le joue too when i perform in stevie wonder's peau! :)

  • i just bought a diatonic harmonica in c. no idea how to play, but am keen. just wondering, what does -3" mean? i get the other notes, but how do i play that?

  • Can I play this on a harmonica with key G?

  • @TheGreatestRockSongs no it will cause your harmonica to explode, of-course you can.

  • merci mon ami! have you thought of teaching french as well as harmonica? Apres tu!

  • What is the intro song!? While learning to play isnt she lovely I got caught up trying to learn that song. Help!!!!!

  • what type of harmonica is that specifically?

  • @megalexylou ; diatonic harmonica : suzuki hammond key of C and chromatic Suzuki Claude Garden 14 holes.

  • @ziharmo Do you know a good website where I can get some good Chromatic Harmonica Tabs from?

  • @HarryIsTheGamingGeek Hi, Mine ;-) I send you the link....

  • @ziharmo ty :)

  • Great practise video. Simple version, not quite Stevie's way of playing it, but very soulfull and easy to learn. Thanks for a top job, mate!

To all the peeps who are wondering how to properly bend notes, just keep practising! And remember, 5 minutes a day is better than 10 hours once every month!

  • I bought a C Harmonica today but i dont know what the -3" means. can anyone help ?

  • great work thank you

I am on a c diatonic and having so much trouble with the bent -3 note!

also the chromatic sounds soooo much more soulful! maybe i should get one

  • i want a harmonica too bad i can only drums ang guitar its kinda usualy for people ...

  • $400 hundred dollar harmonica

  • how do you make the -3" notes? i just cant get that " note you use

  • @blueduderanch

me too ! i bought my harmonica today just because of this song but what means -3". The " is what i dont get.

  • @jenic6 I think it means bend. Draw on the 3hole bend a whole note to hit what I believe is an A note.

  • Great video. I especially like how you include all the Tab on the bottom.

  • hey man! really love your harmonica videos. But i really cant get that -3" i know how to bend but i really cant get that right tone you play.. any tips?

  • You accent just makes your english more sexy, also its very easy to understand.

  • lovely and your English is beautiful!

  • I'm new to playing harmonica. Can you tell me what -3" means? I know you draw, but can't tell how to make that sound you make.

  • What a brilliant lesson, Thanks so much for sharing how to play this fantastic song. You are a dude!

  • formidable!!

  • aferin! şaşırtıcı Oynamak öğrendin nerede?

  • can somebody help me ? I want to play isn't she lovely but i don't really understand the tabs :S

  • @leowafel Actually, when you've got a + & a number, you have to blow into that hole. When you've got "minus & a number", you have to draw that hole ok ? And the " ' " (sorry, I dont know hox to say it) means that you have to bend this note...

exemple : -3 = draw third hole , +4 = blow that hole and -3' means bend it (" means bend it more)... Right?

  • @KickedInTheTeethAgN thanks for the help :D

and do have to slide to the note if the're is -3 ? (my english voc is good but not that good :p )

  • @leowafel I appologise for not having answered for 2 weeks But I don't check my mail inbox often ! (Promise I'll check it a bit more in the future :D)

If I understand you question well, no, when you've got -3, just draw the note, the sliding stuff is just for the chromatic part ( when there is a " * " behind the hole number..)

Yeah, excuse me if sometimes I'm not very clear, my english isn't very good... But I'm working on it :) Don't hesitate to ask ;)

  • magnifique

  • I wish I could plat the harmonica.

  • Really good lesson:)

  • How do I play the -3" as apposed to the -3?

  • Great GREAT!

  • So Negatives mean too inhales an pluses mean too exhale rii ??..... n also what does * and " mean ?

  • I only have ten holes and im a beginner... this guy is GOOD O_O

  • Hi! Please can you tell me what the " is? I can't seem to make the same note, for example- 3" I am completely new, but I just want to jump in and practise with songs, thank you :)

  • if you want to play it higher up on a diatonic theres no bending and sounds nicer starting with a draw at 7: -7 -7 +7 -7 -6 +6 -7 -7 +7 -7 -6 +6 +5 -4 and then play up to -8 for the next line etc.

  • @ziharmo Merciii Beaucoup

  • excuse me, how many holes are in your chromatic harmonica? 14 or 16? thanks

  • @sahr7777 : Hi ;-) 14 holes on my harmonica ;-)

  • Hallo. Thank you for your video. Very helpfull.:) Still, there's one thing, I do't understend. Playing on the diatonic, you've started from the very bottom. So why play it so high on the hromatic? Why not just start it lower, so the sound could be a little softer?

  • Comment removed

  • hi!im new to the chromatic harmonica, what about the +11 in the end?my harmonica has only got 10 holes!thx, great playing!

  • Very nice, thanks!

  • I don't get how to play the " .

  • ok So, I am going to buy KEY OF C harmonica, I want to play the ENDING SOLO for Stevie Wonder, its from 2:14 to the end I think it is, I would like to know all the tabs, by the way how do you know what tabs to blow in ,

  • thanks!

  • what is 3''. don't understand. can somebody explain?

wat betekent 3''? wat moet ik daarbij doen?

  • -3'' is a whole tone bend in the hole 3 on a diatonic harmonica ;-)

  • Love this song!

  • Thank you Paul for going slowly and providing the tabs. I think I'm going to practicing this one a lot as I really like this song. Did I hear you say that it is usually done in the key of E?

  • Yes Dan, in the key of E usually ;-)

  • what is 3"

  • Merci pour la vid :)

  • I am also confused as to what the " means, if someone could tell me for sure it would be appreciated. Great Video btw and great song.

  • Excuse me if I sound ignorant but I don't quite understand what the (") means. Is that a bend?

  • @LeFilmsDeJZ

It means you bend the note a full tone (') you bend it a semi tone and (") means a full tone. As far as I understand

  • You are very good at playing and teaching music.

    Thank You .

  • sounds very beautiful

  • Tu me conseil quoi entre : HAMMOND, LEE OSKAR, OU BLUESMASTER ?

  • thx so much, but i don't understand the ("),hope u can help me.

  • I believe its when you bend the note

  • It's not a bend, but an overblow, I believe. i.e. producing a note that isn't normally on the diatonic, like when you push the button on the chromatic.

  • It's a bend landztranz... a whole tone bend in the hole 3 (drawing)

  • @ziharmo Thanks for the correction. I don't play diatonic so I'm not as familiar with it as I am with chromatic. I must say that, although you play it very well, it sounds better on the chromatic, especially the -3* bend - on the diatonic it sounds muffled. Sorry but that's what I hear :-(.

  • well done thanks for the lesson

  • can we have a lesson on stevie wonder, that,s what freinds are for. thank you for your help.

  • i wish someone taught the original key version.

  • Thank you for the great lessons - Greetings from poland

  • Bonjour !

  • music transcends language barriers

  • your english is good you should do french lessons on youtube

  • Thank you for your fine harmonica lessons and speaking English for those of us who do not speak French. Look forward to more of your fantastic lessons and playing.

  • Thank you Paul!!! I enjoy your lessons and your playing but it is a very special gift to recieve them in english.

A bit of info for everyone out there, Paul contributes very much to our German Harp Forum as well - in German.

  • Bravo Paul !

    Christian.

  • @ziharmo Comment obtenir le play back ?

Merci !

  • Thanks for giving some instruction in engliish. Have you tried playing this song in 12th pos?( c harp in key of F) it sounds real jazzy. check out Chris Michalek's vids.

    Merci beaucoup

  • Hi Paul

Another great vid any chance of doing Marcelle&marcel with some tabs?thanks

  • Beautifull accent Paul :) ... But you are French ?

  • At last! In english! Yes Yes!

Thank you. I find it very difficult to follow your instructions in french :-)

You are more than welcome to do some more ;-)

    Merci beaucoup Paul.

    Amicalement :

    STeph.
