  • Nadie ha vuelto a hacer directos como ellos.Eran los mejores del mundo.

  • great crowd.. you know your doing something right when the old guy with tie in the front row is jammin along lol

  • QUE BUENOS SON

  • songs of struggle and protest, a Brilliant band, glad to have seen them live

  • muito bom d+!!!!gosto muito do midnight !!!

  • Great fucking drummer.

  • clean water boys and girls

    clean water

  • I saw these guys in '93 or '94 at Jones Beach Theater, New York.

I thought they sounded more rocking live than their studio albums.

    Great band.

  • Who's gonna save me?

  • Music of this quality will never die. I have a huge Blue Sky Mining poster in my room, and the album was brought out 3 years before I was born. Love it with all my heart.

  • many Croations die in that mines...RIP.

  • Do you guys have the Dead Heart performance from this I remember it being an amazing version of the song hard to believe it was 17 years ago!

  • halt de Goschen i steh af de Scheibn...

  • He's smart enough to realise you're pissing in the wind by wearing dreadlocks and chaining yourself to a tree.

You have to play the game and make the compromises to be in a position to make any difference

  • GREAT F..ING SONG FOR SURE....

  • Everybody's so clever. I mean what could YOU do amongst the politician worms. Tell me, maybe you would be also compromised. Maybe he tries his best, but it's so hard. What did you do for the environment?

  • Great band! Pity he's a Labor yes man.

  • Garret quit the Oils and joined the Labor Party (supposedly the left wing in mainstream politics) and has reneged on various issues he championed with the band...is seen to have lost his integrity..

  • honestly, i would prefer having Peter as whatever minister than any of those idiots we have here in Canada even though a politician is the last person I normaly have trust in... I still think he was reaching more people through Midnight Oil. But I can't really balme him. That's where the real decisions are made

  • yep he has no integrity what so ever

  • @goblinking169 You're a complete and utter idiot. Thanks for sharing that with all of us.

  • @goblinking169 if you mean being a member of the labor/communist party i agree .and who did YOU vote for eh RUDD the DUDD who dudded australia.i can lie straight in bed at night that i didn't vote those socialist fckers in.

  • anyone can explain me why a lot of people are laughing at peter garett now? What is he doing now? And his band. No news in france. Thank you....

  • @CHOUCHE4

he is a politician these days and doing his best, But the media beats up on him if there is the slightest chance to do so.

  • thanks very much!! i think it s normal that he has become a politician. and hope he is good, but i have no doubt about it......

  • my very first "CD" was Diesel and Dust... never stopped listening to it... probably my best band ever

  • Same thing for me... Hope the boys will make a last tourney for us.

  • miluju...

  • Thank you so much for posting. Midnight Oil is such a wonderful band. This song is one of my favorite protest songs...so honest, so well done, so enjoyable.

  • shame Peter shame

  • Or "Guy Sebastian" maybe. Oils - shmoils. 13 albums, gigs in front of millions - baah- humbug. Where's the REAL musicianship?

  • One of my all time favorite bands and songs! I got chills watching this! Thanks for posting mate! :)

  • Powerfull !

    Great band.

  • This is great! Even though I don't know much about them... because I need to do my homework on this song I can't be stuffed downloading it I always go on Youtube for music homework. LOL.

  • Marcou época...

  • Is that Chris Abrahams on the piano?

  • Pianist should have been fired. Not from the band, by a firing squad.

  • A Jazz band, with a muscled up David Byrne at the helm!! Badass Aussie Talking Heads!

  • Great song.

    Amazing live.

I saw them in 1993 (Brazil).

    Wonderful concert.

  • These guys should get back together, what a great band!!!

  • If these guys were athletes, they'd be testing them for HGH.

  • Could the guy in the tie look any more out of place...Starbucks is down the block pal!

  • I think that's the late Bob Hunter, one of the founders of Greenpeace. I worked on this show. remember him getting a big hug from P Garrett.

I dropped a cable on an Oils roadie and cut his forehead. Thought he would freak. I asked him if we was OK. He just said "Can't hurt me mate, I'm Australian."

  • nice

  • great song..great beat..really gets you going...for sure....

  • fuck yeah AUSSIE PRIDE!!!!!! mad song b a mad aussie band

  • Outstanding Song from an Outstanding Band

  • Sensacional relíquia.

  • Where are there more of these kinds of socially-concious bands????? Where???!!! I need MORE of this!!!

  • you *could* start your own band. If I was half as talented as these guys, that's what I'd do.

  • @shingaki777

Blame the 80s. Listen to a band called agitator... they are what you are looking for.

  • @shingaki777 they dies out once pubs turned to pokies for income...simple, the rot kicked in during the early 90's the rest is history

internet is also to blame, music industry trashed by it

  • @shingaki777 I think it's a case of supply and demand. More kids would rather listen to J-lo shit on about how she doesn't give it up on the dance floor, or whatever the fuck she's singing in her latest singing than listen to a song that actually talks about something tangable.

    Very, very sad.

  • @shingaki777 System of a Down are probably your best shot.

  • just brilliant!

  • I love this band!!

  • Great song, thanks for the video.

  • Come on D.F.!

  • Ah peter you took us out there.... please dont forget these times, please dont sell out....

please now that ur in a position to make a difference, make that difference.....

    It can all change now.......

    whos gonna save me ????????

  • Added to favourites, thanks.

  • this song is about a town called blue sky and there was a mine and the boss didnt treat the workers very well and they didnt get payed enough. This song made a difference to blue sky

  • There never was a town called Blue Sky, the song refers to the Wittenoom asbestos mine in Western Australia where blue asbestos was mined between 1947 and 1966. The once-thriving town is now a virtual ghost town. Shops are boarded up, the 2 schools are closed, the local cinema is derelict. In their ignorance, the original settlers used asbestos in gardens, school yards and roads. It is estimated that 25% of the 20,000 men who mined asbestos there will die from related diseases

  • Actually, it was 1971

  • where is this?

  • Is that Chris Abrahamson behind the piano?

  • Fantastic song :D

    i Love it

  • This is my favorite number by this group, and this live version would put anyone in awe! Outstanding song and performance. That Garrett guy looks like a badazz, doesn't he?

  • I remember first hearing this song when I was 20 and working on a 3 month stint as an engineer in Broken Hill. It was being played loudly in all the pubs.....Amazing days

  • This video reminds me good memories!

This song is nice still! And, those folks

whom love good music, may second that!

  • The pianist made a mistake at 1:22

  • Sez you! If so he made the exact same mistake every verse.

  • EVERY version of this song I've heard is killer. This band is brutally underrated.

  • i think this was at torfino not toronto

  • Nope, it's Toronto... they were in town for a big festival... 2 days headlined on both nights by the Oils, the Tragically Hip, and Hothouse Flowers.... it was awesome.

  • @MidnightOilVideos: thanks for posting all these. None of us can thank you enough. Thanks!

  • I love Peter...hes awesome!!!!..

  • Hell I wish our Enviroment minister was that talented!

  • Thanks for posting this vid -- I'd been looking for this song for a while, and am delighted to find it here.

  • OMG...time passes...as I was 20 (1990) I bought the CD....one of my first :-)....and untill today the song and message rules! Something never change!

...anyway, thanx for the vid....the performance is awesome..needles and pins on my skin...who is gonna save us?

  • KLASYKA!!!!!!!!!
