Eventually I just stopped watching. Jason had x10 the charisma and intensity as Tommy. Oh, and I never understood Tommy/Kimberly. I always thought Jason should have gotten with Kim. I saw the movie and didnt like it as Tommy got most of the screen time. PR was about the team, not one person. Still, great childhood memories.

well let me help you with that... a few episodes earlier Zordon compliments Jason on his leadership skills, but Tommy was made leader... why?... because Austin St. John left the show so that meant no more Jason. And because Tommy was back on the team with a flashy new look they made him leader and focused the show on him so you notice that Jason, Trini, and Zack weren't on the show until they were replaced.
I heard that the original plan was to have Tommy come back but still have Jason be the leader. However, Austin St. John and the producers of the show had disagreements about his contract, so he opted to leave at the end of the season and have rocky replace him.

For all of you dissing Tommy in this video, believe it or not what you see was not the original final cut. Tommy wasn't going to take over leadership of the Ranger Squad. When Austin St. John and co decided to pull the stunt that they did they went back and redid this episode so the rest of the season would make sense.
This is true! I am actually a fan of both, Tommy/JDF and Jason/ASJ. I just made this video for fun. ASJ didn't do a great job at hiding the fact he was pretty pissed off by this point. I can't really blame him, their pay was pretty crappy, but the behind the scenes stuff, spilled over into the screen, so I was able to make something sarcastic and funny out of it.
Thats why I have not made a sequel, When he came back, he seemed over it, so there isn't anything for me to work with.

You can tell this was a post production audio change. The original line was probably "How do you feel about the newest member of the Power team? which Jason would say great but after the 3 walked out it the audio was changed to leader.

lol this cracks me up. I was never a big fan of tommy. The tended to focus on how he was the savior of the power rangers and it annoyed me. I'm probably biased, because I'm a jason fan. I love the original 5. Imo Jason was the better leader. It's funny, because I believe a few episodes earlier, Zordon was complimenting Jason's leadership skills and all of a sudden he gives it to tommy. I would have been pissed.

well let me help you with that... a few episodes earlier Zordon compliments Jason on his leadership skills, but Tommy was made leader... why?... because Austin St. John left the show so that meant no more Jason. And because Tommy was back on the team with a flashy new look they made him leader and focused the show on him so you notice that Jason, Trini, and Zack weren't on the show until they were replaced.

I heard that the original plan was to have Tommy come back but still have Jason be the leader. However, Austin St. John and the producers of the show had disagreements about his contract, so he opted to leave at the end of the season and have rocky replace him.

The only reason they wrote that in there was because in the japanese equivalent, zyuranger, the Green Ranger was killed and not in a lot of the footage. So as an excuse, they had him lose his communicator or show up in the nick of time to save the day.

For all of you dissing Tommy in this video, believe it or not what you see was not the original final cut. Tommy wasn't going to take over leadership of the Ranger Squad. When Austin St. John and co decided to pull the stunt that they did they went back and redid this episode so the rest of the season would make sense.

This is true! I am actually a fan of both, Tommy/JDF and Jason/ASJ. I just made this video for fun. ASJ didn't do a great job at hiding the fact he was pretty pissed off by this point. I can't really blame him, their pay was pretty crappy, but the behind the scenes stuff, spilled over into the screen, so I was able to make something sarcastic and funny out of it.
Thats why I have not made a sequel, When he came back, he seemed over it, so there isn't anything for me to work with.

Yes, you are right. And even worst was the fact that they remade this episode but they didn't remake the two episodes after this, so Jason remains the leader as you can see well in episode 20 (the last of ASJ in the MMPR)!

in Austin's defense, since i've met him and talked to him *swoon*, he said that he went in with Walter/Zach and Thuy/Trini to get more money for the core Rangers. they were fighting for the cast when they got shafted.

I'd also like to point out that Jason is the only power Ranger who has actually beaten Tommy. Remember Green With Evil Part 5? By the end of the final battle between Jason and Tommy Jason was still standing and Tommy was flat on his face. Jason FTW

The 1st time i watched this episode was 14 years ago, and D*MN it ZORDON! Saban should have created a better script, this is the TERRIBLE! They should have changed the leader after Jason left, at least there is no insult in it?! even if they have delayed making tommy the leader, it doesn't make any difference, he will anyway become a leader after Jason!

Whoever told you that is a moron. The person going on trial for murder, is NOT Jason David Frank. This person was a child when he was on power rangers, and he was only an extra, if I recall, did not even have any lines. This kind of rumor spreading comment will not be tolerated in the future. I have a great deal of respect for both JDF and Austin St.John, and to the best of my knowledge, neither of them are killers.

lol, yeah. I have actually been thinking about a sequel for awhile, but its really hard, cuz its not clicking like it did with this one. Jason doesn't have that subtle look in him that even tho he is smiling, he looks pissed off. Probably becuz when this was filmed, Austin WAS pissed about salary issues, so it showed thru in his performance. Its not like that with his 2 comeback episodes, but I might be able to make something work.
