He is much underrated by poeple like you. Most of them are fooled by his incredible touch and speed. That often doesn't sound like human fingers pushing the keys, and they think he is emotionless and automatic. To me, automatic is rather their fixed minds. if you listen carefully beyoud the surface, his world is full of souls.
Hope you, and more people will preciate that in the future.
Nobody forced you to listen to his interpretations.
Like Glenn Gould said ''This is how i see it''.
You are entitled to your opinion but before calling someone cold and soulless, look to yourself for a minute and than to the person you are calling that. If you think you have more heart and passion than Glenn Gould had, post some interpretations on YouTube and let us see how much heart and soul you have..
@gatomjp I honestly don't believe that Bach would agree with you.
it's not Gould that sounds cold and soul-less it is simply the instrument. The piano, while sounding very good, does in fact have a very 'cold' sound which is why I personally believe Bach's music sounds better on Organs and Harpsichords.
I can't stand Gould. He is overrated, cold and soulless IMO.
