  • Also, there's no age limit for absession. I'm a 60's gal (which makes me 60 years old) and I'm totally obsessed with his music.

Love of rock music is a lifelong passion.

  • No need for personal insults! We're all here to enjoy RT's music.

Live and let live! We all agree RT is a fantastic singer/songwriter

with a band that's hot, hot HOT !!!

  • I first heard this song when it came out, and it was on our country station. the classic country station still plays it. love it!

  • I saw RT a few months ago when he sang this song... and we sang along!

Sometimes it feels good to cry...

  • RT guitar solos are pure art.

  • Like Jo-El Sonnier's verison better!

  • in love with this - dont buy it on itunes its shit if you get the recorded version

  • I see it's on the setlist for theDream Attic tour: first set DA and second set Greatest Hits. Can't wait...

  • I know where Europe is. It's that place due east that Richard Thompson moved the hell away from. (Kidding -- fact is, lots of us couldn't find the UK on a map of the UK.)

  • don`t know where RT hails from, no matter, the song is catchy and wonderful =)sound!!

  • jon thompson here this song kixx ass

  • Fantastic song. Apparently, it was directed at his ex-wife Linda? Is that true??

Ashamed to be a N American with comments posted here from people like Cheese. below. Shameful!!!!

  • @thesound59 If he was trying to make himself look sympathetic in that situation, he deserved a "bunch of fives."

  • HOW FABULOUS IS THAT!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Firt time I have seen Thompson playing anything other than the strat...what guitar is he using, does anyone know? . He's arguably the finest rock'n'roll guitarist the UK has ever produced. Nice to see him "winging it" like this, even at his advanced age his guitar breaks always have a dangerous quality to them. Its not often you see people stil willing to take a chance on stage like this. Nice to see the Great Danny Thompson on bass,,too.

  • it's a ferrington custom made by danny ferrington.tele neck and 3 pickups.beautiful guitar played by possibly the most talented person ever to pick up a guitar (in my humble opinion)

  • Thanks for that. Is that his sprog playing the danelectro? - Last time I saw Thompson it was with Gregson, Collister etc.

  • sure is.....also danny thompson, bass, michael jerome drums and pete zorn, sax. if i remember right this performance also featured richard and teddy doing "persuasion" together which is a brilliant song.

  • I agree absolutely!

  • Your opinion may be humble, but it is also dead right!!!!!!

  • see...this is the kind of stuff some people don't get today....it's crude...it's raw...it's when music was music. not the synth garbage we hear today. definitely not polished but most certainly some of the best we'll ever hear NOT being played on the radio. BRILLIANT!

  • Excellent version.

  • USA always better. That's funny. Americans are so inward looking.

Still, proved my point you're as thick as pig-shit and don't actually know where Europe is.

  • how RUDE. with the political climate and the economy (btw..i'm from the USA). yes...I love the united states..but we're not exactly pulling any brownie points with anyone....so chill out.

  • chessse is just a plain asshole. I can't even figure out what his point is. Richard Thompson is great. I wouldn't know that without keeping an open mind. Chessse might discover that if he had his head out of his mommas anus.

  • ah man

    what can be said

    fucking brilliant

  • Jerk . It's his song. He wrote it. I assume you're an American. In which case do you actually know where or what Europe is ?

  • @martinterri yurope? There be dragons there.

  • One of the few songs/performers that makes me a little proud to be in that generation.

  • This is the best version I've ever heard of this song!

Can't stop listening, I must be the biggest 16 year old fan of Thompson!

  • @1970mgmidget 2 years ago i was 16, and was obsessed as well. snap!

  • Fabulous video ... thanks so much for this!

  • Wonderfull!

  • great sound!
