Okay I just talked to Comcast and apparently they don't have the TIVO software for Comcast box's out yet. Does anyone have any other info on this? I would really preferr not to get a Tivo box and a comcast box.

We got the new comcast HD DVR today (got it in my room ^^) but the actual DVR isn't hooked up. Do we have to pay extra every month for the actual TiVo service?

Comcast DVR SUCKS compared to Tivo. I hated it so much I canceled it. I'm going to try Uverse.

Yeah, Comcast DVR only records up to 5 hours of television for me. Stupid question, but is Tivo a cable company of it's own?

TiVo is a DVR company and they made a deal with Comcast to put the TiVo software on the Comcast cable box.

I wish I knew. It's the same hardware so I'd assume it's the same. There's no way to know how much space is left though which is a problem with the software.

I am a boston tech and have been installing these for about a month now. There is alot of glitches and small errors so if your thinking of getting one wait a couple months till they figure this stuff out!

I'm in Boston.
Comcast called today to say that they are aware of the problem and are working with TiVo on a maintenance software update which should be available in several weeks.
Also, they said at this point a space available display is not a feature of this particular TiVo.

Ironically, I live in the Seattle, WA area and I have been told that my area is another testing area for Comcast. In fact, Seattle is where Comcast Digital Voice had originated! It was pretty crazy!
I honestly can't wait until the Comcast TiVo software gets added in to my cable box! Just hope it takes longer than 3 years! LOL!

What area are you from that you got the Comcast TIVO? I'm in So. FL and have the old Adlephia HD DVR! :-( Would rather have the TIVO like I had on my DirecTV!
