how did you get unissued decca al jolson ? must be the more recent recordings. fabulous this completely blew me away. I thought I heard all that was guess I was wrong.
Many people have sung this song, so it is possible ... I do remember Mr Armstrong singing a song that starts "Do you know what it means to miss New Orleans and miss it each night and day" (or something like that) ... :p
Jeff, There isn't a lot more ... The flipside (to be) would have been "I'm Alabamy Bound" if they had been released ... And I have included that (in part) on the "Al Jolson - Greatest Hits" video.
First time I've heard this take....to bad it wasn't made into an album. Thanks so much for sharing.............a LONG TIME JOLSON fan..

Thanks for pointing that out. I am from the UK and have never been to either. However, now you have mentioned it, it does look as you say!

I lived in New Orleans for 33 years, and I do believe that it has been mentioned in more songs than any other city in the world.
