The church version is the 6th part of the National anthem, and played primarily in churches. Th second version is the first part of the anthem and is the primarily part that is always played. The Dutch national anthem is the oldest in the world and was original written as a patriotic song in favour of Prince Willem of Orange and against the hard way of governing the Holland by the King of Spain.

A wonderful rendition of the Netherlands national anthem. As a wayward 18 year old in my youth in Europe,(early 1980's) my friends & I toured Amsterdam. The people were gracious, warm & helpful. The food was stupendous! When your anthem, the Wilhelmus was played, I remember how I loved the melody. A few of my American friends were clowning about & I grew angry and reminded them they were a sovereign host country. We then stayed still & showed respect for this beautiful song. Thanks for posting.
