I just bought a handwired Marshall Plexi, and I mean a real one that was custom handwired to be amazing and the guy that did that said these amps were CRAZY!! He was raving about these, he said something about the reverb and it needing to be modded to make it really get it, the original design was built the way the mod makes it but was changed to "help" the reverb but he said it hurt the tone a little. Apparently with that simple mod or without they are amazing just that helps.
@PinkyWontWork Thanks pinky, I'm not much of a sweeper, but it can be tasteful I think if you're not just aimlessly sweeping everywhere. That's what I'm aiming for here anyways. In a more traditional blues it really wouldn't work I agree. Cheers
@SammyTWright Right on..it was cool though. You wouldn't happen to have any Strats or Alder wood guitars? I'd like to hear that tone wood with that amp.
@AlembicVapor I really appreciate it mate, made my day. I just got a new HD camera so I will be putting up a lot more guitar videos and vintage/boutique pedal demo's this year. Please subscribe to my channel.
@SammyTWright You really have that "he's got it" style of playing IMO. Reminds me of Peter Green quite a bit. Most guys are trying to see how fast they can play, missing everything that is so beautiful about the art itself. Not to say that there aren't guys who do it extremely well. Look at Guthrie Govan! But Guthrie IMO has an almost "mechanical" suggestion to his playing. I personally think that a person can become "too good" of a player. Maybe too schooled of a player?
@AlembicVapor thanks, I've got lots to work on with my playing. But it's very encouraging when people are generous/nice enough to give feedback, positive or constructive. Guthrie is one of my favorite players I love the way he plays. his command of the instrument is amazing but i agree he can overplay. Amongst those somewhat mechanical sounding licks he plays some really really tasteful and unique phrases. This in my opinion is what makes him one of the most exciting players around. Thanks again
@SammyTWright Yes, he's my favorite professional level player for sure! I guess he could be considered a "YouTube" player too - right? Okay - so you're one of my favorites. Keep the great tones coming!
I love your style of playing man! Awesome feel with little gnarly licks here and there!
