With split comets a symmetrical break is not necessarily the goal. "Split Comets" are basically standard comets (large cylinders made of pytotechnic composition) except with a charge to break it up at the top for a little extra crowd-pleasing-ness. The randomness of the breaks can actually add to the beauty I think. It might have been cool if there were more/larger chunks breaking off, but it was very beautiful either way...
