  • where's your ice cleats

  • ohhhhh you guys probably go by celsius. Nevermind :)

  • How is it 10 degrees and raining? lol?

  • what lake is this on?

  • Need some cork boots or golf shoes --Can you believe this winter we`re getting here in central alberta it was +6 Christmas day 1/4 inch snow on lakes few more years we`ll be water skiing in all year like it good vid lots of luck this year the vids I got are from last year not much snow either good fishing though .

  • @MrMrtiki My winter in Southern Ontario isnt any better..+5 and no snow for us on Christmas day..This time last year,I was already a month into my ice fishing season..Everything has been wide open until last night,we got 5cm of snow and it put a nice blanket across my local water...But according to the weatherman, its not going to stay.back to the + temps next week.Thank god I havent put the boat away yet.

  • @bradnmack1 Well it`s about time Canada got some warmer winters --people don`t realize that the iceburgs that float by does make water tables rise + the receeding glacier is falling farther away from the mainland to the north so the equatorial heat has to come north look at iceland how the volcano is melting ice bigtime somethings got to change --We were once tropical before the Pangia movement .Slave Lk don`t freeze hard in the center either or not thick enough .

  • @MrMrtiki I dont think warmer winters and melting glaciers/ice burgs are necessarily a good thing..Like you said, they raise the water table even as they drift, imagine if they all melted..We would be swimming!

  • @bradnmack1 Well there`s nothing we can do it going to happen they got made from the comet that hit earth and froze the whole thing from dust blocking sunlight so they say we never know how many times that happened it`s going to melt -better buy a boat i`ve got mine LOL .

  • @MrMrtiki Lol,I got a boat and its still water ready since we have no ice yet...So,I am good to go!!

  • when the ice is slipery like that, start 2 holes just 1" deep or so, to put your feet in while you drill the fishing hole

  • Best day of ice fishing i ever had was when a warm front came through and it rained. Its awesome!

  • have u ever herd of ice cleets?

  • @duckzbuckz365 lol, yes.ive been on the ice for close to 15 years,i have some but this was a spur of the moment trip,i left them at home.i rarely ever need them as the ice is usually buried in snow..

  • also just to add because i ran out of text space for the last post!

U see all the black ice there its 10" or so 2" of water big Deal!!

ohh ima fall through not likely to happen. u would need a "Hummer" truck to fall though or a big ass backhoe! 3 guys an a sled some gear thier fine lol:) now if i was mid march an all the black ice then i'd be saying Ever dumb); other then that just past early ice is fine an late ice is unsafe anyways look it up for all the unknowledgeble ppl!!

  • I agree with ? was said about ice thickness good ice bad so on 2" of solid ice = 150lbs nice. then it goes like this 6"-7" of solid for snow machines 12" + of solid for small car lets say! 16"-18" solid a pickup truck:) its proven over time as long as ur not right @ a Creek mouth most rivers! I gota say in Sudbury ON. Can, ramsey lake when the ice is thick enuf we plow a rink 20' wide along the shore if it wasnt safe u think the city would allow this? so its Not Stupid:).. lame ppl are lmao

  • Ten degree's and it's raining? Was that ten degree's celcius? Otherwise, that was some temperature inversion!

That ice looked slick as snot. That posed a greater safety hazard than anything.

  • @Tubetopfan1 its 10 degrees celsius,i believe thats somewhere around 50 Fahrenheit...and yes,the only danger was the ice being so slick.that rain in the video turned in to snow over night and now theres a 12" of white stuff covering the "slick as snot" ice,lol..

  • @MrHoldemace hahahahaha! 2 inches holds 150lbs..i wont go out on anything less then 5 or 6" and i wont take my daughter out on less then 8".theres 12 inces of ice now and 10 when this video was shot. you hope no children view it?? seriously? its more then safe and i would promote to any and all families to share in the joys of ice fishing or fishing in general! you may think its stupid but millions of other people and there families (world wide) that ice fish, dont ...if its safe,im fishing it!

  • @MrHoldemace you're telling me, that you think that walking onto a lake that has more than 12 inches of ice is stupidity? christ what's wrong with you?

  • @MrHoldemace ur retarded i am 15 and i have been i ice fishing since very young and as soon as there good 4 inches out on the lake i am out never fallen in yet

  • @farmingismylife123 retarded no i dont think so,english and sensible, walking onto a frozen lake is retarded, and young children in the uk might see your vid and this gives no warnings as english ice is not so thick,so b4 u start calling ppl retarded you should stop and think, one day this vid could get some child killed its dangerous in most countries and youtube is worldwide,

  • @MrHoldemace im not responsible for any ones actions but my own and my daughters.i refuse to believe that my video is ever going to be directly responsible for kids falling through the ice.safety is my number one concern when ice fishing,by myself or with my daughter.like wise im sure for the millions of other people that take part in the sport year after year....my video shouldnt be the "hub" of any blame for kids venturing on the ice, lack of parental care should be!

  • nothing is more slippery than wet ice. Been there. haha
