Which is why I picked a KLR650, I don't need to rocket down the street at 150+ miles per hour to show I'm a bad ass. He tried to explain in one video that he'll accelerate faster if he keeeps it in the friction zone at high rpms.. and that's bull. :-)

Going fast for awhile in a straight line doesn't get boring, it gets annoying. I love doing it, but the soreness/numbness due to vibrations because you've been at a steady 6k RPM for the last 2 hours RAPES you. That and your throttle hand is cramped to fuck...I need CC on my R1... The other downside is wind noise...my god the wind noise, it's ridiculous at ~75-80mph, makes talking for a camera damn-near impossible.

I loved the canyons but on my way to the snake, I'd go 180mph on the 405... don't worry, there's no way in hell I'd be able to do that with other cars around/in the day, it was at 1-5am and nobody else on the road. Can't really speak for Taiwan, but generally the rain drain (where you put the tissue) is something different than the sewer. Rain drains bypass the waste water treatment plants (would be way too much water to handle) and often go straight into rivers. So while I agree that a tissue will degrade fast, it will still be floating around in a river for some time.
