Isn't there a difference between "martelo armado" and "parafuso"?
I mean, I think and I have learnt that in "parafuso" you land with the same leg you kick, like in this video, and in "martelo armado" you land with the leg you use to take motion (the one rised in this momento 0:34).
In this vídeo, "parafuso" its landed with right leg, and "martelo armado" should have been landed with left leg.
Thats a parafuso, u want to call it something else from outside of Capoeira, that would be wrongm, since he used the ginga as the entrance its a 100% capoeira move, therefore called parafuso not 540 or tornado kick, which would have a completly different base entrance. Within Capoeira it has many names as well ofc, like Martelo trocado, etc...
For the record, capoeira uses many different names for different moves and vice versa, different moves can have the same name. Technically a parafuso can be like a tornado kick, a 540 kick, or the cheat-doubleleg which it is most closely associated. Kinda like how a butterfly twist is called either parafuseta or mariposa.
i can do this move but i cant do the kick ... im too big :))) or fat as you say it :P .. i do capoeira 4 days from now XD and its awesome i recommend it for those that want a really cool activity
Nice kick but from what I've learned this movement is called martelo cruzado. Parafuso is somewhat different. After you leap you flatten out horizontally both legs together and spin 360 degrees in the air and then land on that same foot you leaped with.
seriously dude? he said it had a twist on it....but its like it doesn't have thee twist on it. Its not at all a Parfuso. Its a 540 kick fact. Check out a Parfuso and you'll see its nothing like it.
I did listen...more than once. I appoligize if my horrible flames burned you sooo badly :P jeez...if you can't stand the flames get off the internet! :P :D
i know what a Parafuso looks like. and this has the same basic form. he's just using one leg instead of two. perhaps he worded it badly, but it IS a variation of a Parafuso. and i've weathered much worse flames than those. =P
@SPYDA3303 You get points for trying. But then lose points for failing. So looks like your at zero. Or at least in the negative for ending up in the hospital. Good job. Keep practicing. At least your attempting Martial Arts. Always a good sign.
i train in capoeira in florida. I am with Grupo Bantu Beira Mar, the parafuso is basically a 540. Also @killswitchbmx you are correct about the ginga, you should never cross your leg behind your other when doing it, it throws off your balance big time.
@Jacob5689 dang the 60$ a month seems like definitly more worth it, and is it a good class? do you know like enough moves to do flips and shit, look like a tekken character lol?
@Mannypacquia0 lol im only a beginner in capoeira, some of the kicks i can already do because i took taekwondo a while back. the class is very good, instructor has 15 years experience under his belt.
@Mannypacquia0 yes, they dont always wear them in class though. we have seven ranks. Cord 1:green Cord2: green/yellow Cord3:yellow/green(intermediate cord)Cord4:yellow Cord5:yellow/blue Rank6:blue/yellow(intermediate cord)Cord7:blue
@Jacob5689 isn't the cord 1 called corda crua, and isn't it supposed to be grayish white and isn't the last chord corda branca and it is pure white? i am an iniciante at capoeira and i have my corda crua, why is your first cord green?
Dude you are awesome man. I'm learning from your video clips. I got my jinga going on now. I learned the Au Cortado, Au Giratoria. Now im learning this Parafuso. Thanks for the teaching dude
@HansumRob100 Its not good to learning capoeira basing on internet, the same like in any other martial art. U should try to find some capo group in the hood. It's much better to train with someone, who know anything about it, than when you doing it by your own. Don't you know, that it's not "jinga", but "ginga"?
to me, land with hte kick leg, is a waste of skill, if you land wiht the other leg or wiht the two legs at same time you can do a meia lua de compasso or a a role de esquiva , and the jogo is more beauty, this parafuso is like that tkd or kung-fu variant and, yes, it is more hard to perform than the others.
Martial Arts Tricksters call this a 540 and they have another move called the Parafuso but it is not the Capoeira Parafuso it's pretty much an Armada Dupla from that very set up.
yeah dude got it. I know. I can't actually do this kick, I'm capoeirista/tricker/b-boy. I learned the basic Tornado kick from TKD but in Capoeira I learned to land with the same foot.
@KingKrunkmungas its actually not a tornado kick very similar though...i train both capoeira and TKD, this kick in capoeira we call it Martelo Cruzado... :)
@kikitakahani uh yeah. I know. He says this a parafuso/butterfly twist and its a 540 kick. so whats your point? thats what I was saying (though I originally was calling it a tornado kick :P)
also whoops I said I CAN"T do this kick and I meant...I CAN do this kick :D :D

This is a 540 kick not parafuso... Parafuso has the same set up as a 540 but when your in the air you bring your kicking legs next to the other one so it looks a little bit like double leg (armada dupla).
