Personally I think if there is an effect from a full moon it's probably due to an evolutionary holdover to the effect that with a full moon everything is more visible at night so predators have an easier time finding prey. Therefore any possible prey will need ramped up senses in order to protect themselves...so basically we still get the boost in anxiety / aggression etc. whether we need it or not...
