Bought this stuff yesterday and it is well worth the $10 at Walmart. If you have a cold, flu, sinus troubles, or if you like to party with "Scarface", you will find much relief using NeilMed. It is very easy to do in the morning and when you go to bed. If you are always clogged up, runny nose, having trouble sleeping because you can't breathe, you will love NeilMed sinus rinse. Get it and you won't be sorry.
@swellpropel I think what they meant for "preservatives" here is the synthetic one. The one that is added to extend shelf life eg: benzoate, sulfate, propionate, etc. while the salt that you're talking about is not primarily added to preserve.
I love all neilmeds sinus products!!!! but NeilMed Sinugator Cordless Pulsating Nasal Wash really kicks butt! its so frikkin awsome! its weird but it works :)
@melissamedina84 Desperate? no way, and also youre two months late so its getting old. That chick pretty much would look like you bending over; you look hot too why did you film yourself on camera?
This helps to clear out most of the mucus from the nose but it doesn't 'cure' sinusitis. I don't even think it reaches the sinus cavities because their blocked so bad.
@NeilMed1 hi i am singer and i have to hit real high notes..due to sinus i am having difficulty so, can i use it??does it work on headaches??plz help.. :(
I use this all the time! Works great, clears my sinuses! I absolutely love it. Those of you who can't get it to work can shoot me a message and I can try to help? I'm a long time user. I absolutely love it though because it's SUPER efficient! I usually use it about twice a day. It also works wonders for ear infections! Helps get you all cleared up.
I am not a rocket scientist LOL but I had chemistry at school and yeah, I simply use salt since Ive run out of those lil bags, ie. for over a year now. Works exactly the same!
@Tukwanda. A better home-made mixture is salt and baking soda. (Two parts salt to one part baking soda). And that will work same as "pre-mixed packets"
Hey anyone watching... this ... be careful.... I learned to do this correctly... just now after much trial and error...... do not press as hard as this magnificent fellow is pressing.... it may be harmful to your ears..... i learned the hard way lol!
Once I started using it properly, it helped alot. Three things to remember - (1) a one handed squeeze is enough for water pressure; (2) you don't have to get each side finished in one squeeze cuz you can take it off the nostril and let air back in and then continue; (3) don't hold a side of your nose closed when you blow your nose EVER.
You need to try it for yourself; it does help me a lot while my mom if not so WOW about it and she is not using it; when my boyfriend used it the water even came out of his EYE :P So he said he wont try again even if someone pays him :P But for me works very fine; usually in the morning my nose is totally clogged and I cant blow it at all. I use it slowly, making breaks (not like in a movie). It allows me to blow out my nose in almost 100% so that I can breath normally.
I just bought this and there's no way I can get the water to flow out of the other nostril. Funny though, when I breathe normally air only goes in/out of one hole. Is there a problem with my nose or something?
@ocping push a bit harderr on the bottle. i currently have the same pproblem and my mom told me to push harder and it works, now my nose is ok . it really works!!
@Fatal616 Appreciate the tips but I've already tried every angle possible. Basically if I do it correctly water will trickle down from my nasal passages to my mouth but no water comes out from the other nostril. If the angle is wrong there isn't even any flow of water at all (since there's some major blockage inside).
what a product . it works great for a fractured nose too because i used to get build up behind the fracture and it used to make me get sick sometimes and no matter how much i blow my nose it would rarely clear fully. i got this and its amazing no more retching and more clean easy breathing. thank you 10/10
Roughly two tsp. of salt and one tsp. of baking soda in a liter of water, you could also add a tsp of XYLITOL, sugar alcohol from the health food store, which makes a smoother solution, soothing, and also increases the bacteriostatic effect, which is why it's used in some natural toothpastes, also sweet..ALSO, you could add a few drops of Silver Hydrosol, Bionade, etc. for evern MORE anti viral, bacterial, fungal, effect. MAKE YOUR OWN...It should be enough for him to sell the bottles.
@neilmedvideo One can always make a home remedy and feel the difference. Homemade solutions may have incorrect concentrations of sodium chloride that may lead to inadequate relief or, at worst, swelling of your nasal lining that results in nasal congestion. This can happen due to osmotic imbalance.
@neilmedvideo NeilMed recommends using our premixed Sinus Rinse saline packets because it is the only way we can assure that you will be using ingredients that are USP Grade (99.9% pure) and when one packet is dissolved in the right quantity of water, you will get the correct concentration and pH of the solution that is more physiologic. @Moebab I'm not a doctor, just another person with occasional sinus problems. If your sinus is "damaged", I'd recommend that you ask your doctor for a referral to a good otolaryngologist, i.e. an ear, nose, and throat specialist. Good luck!
Be careful of this product. I have chronic sinusitis and I bought NeilMed last month and used the same day. The next day I had a very severe asthma attack. I had had only a mild asthma attack before two years ago. My Chest Disease specialist said cleaning the sinus with things like NeilMed might cause virus asthma and he doesnt advise his patients to do that. Be careful and seek medical advise before purchasing stuff like this
I love the Sinusrinse! It actually clears up my sinus and now I can breathe when going to sleep whereas I used to breath through my mouth before. Worth the £13 paid.
I use the neti pot every night and I really like the results. The only thing I'm wondering is, is there a way to get rid of the excess water right away? I've noticed that of and on for about and hour after using it water continuously drips from my nose. Even if I gently blow it out it starts dripping again in about 2 seconds. Also if I shake my head from side to side I can hear it sloshing around. Any suggestions? The irrigation does help but the constant drip afterward is pretty annoying.
I use it while in the shower which keeps it from being too messy. To get all the fluid out I have to headbang from the waist a few times but it works.
it works ive tried it and it like let me actually breath in my nose hahaha it tastes bad though hey if you have a bloody nose and you have dried up blood in there this can help it too
For years I suffered from really bad halatosis..Never knew what caused it. My dentist said i had perfect teeth...For years i suffered and hid from people...Up until a few months ago...I was sick with a very bad sinus infection...I went to a doctor in canada and he gave me antibiotics and told me to get a sinus flush...Well the rest is history...No more bad breath...Nothing...I cried when this stuff totally cured my problem...There's nothing else like it. Highly recommended from me.
now there are tons of warnings saying omfg do not let some get in your throat or swallow... is it that bad if you accidentally swallow it? i just got it today, prescribed by my doctor, just trying to find out more about it.
I use this regularly, its the best thing I have done for myself in years. I would add(the packaging has very detailed instructions - read them!)is that I test the temp by squirting some solution against my upper lip. I breath out slowly while squeezing the bottle. There is no drowning sensation. I felt better after 3 days, doing this 3 times a day. Don't mix table salt and do this, its not that type of saline; you will be sorry if you do. My breath is better, snore less and migraines have gone.
I used this to relieve pressure and build up after my deviated septum surgery a year ago and still use it when my nose gets runny/stuffy. GREAT product!!!
you obviously haven't tried it because NeilMed is ph nuetral, so not the same as salt+water or other diy recipes on web, also ph neutral usually w/ salt and baking soda. bottle is good design, easier than bulb, neti pot or water pik application, easy to control flow rate. pays for itself w/ money saved on medicines.
i now it sounds gross, but make a kkkkkkkkkkk sound constantly as if you were hacking and keep your mouth open while you are doing it. and do not blow your nose hard after!
the same was happening to me, until I realized I had to make a constant K- k- k- k- k sound while keeping my mouth open the whole time, and dont hold breath. then it came out the other nostril! try it!
I hold my breath when I do it. I have had more sucess since I posted this comment. Since this vid seems to be an ad I thought the poster might comment.
I just got a Neilmed Sinus rinse from my doctor. I read all instructions, watched several videos and tried the rinse. I squeezed the water into my nostril and got a feeling of fullnes. The water would not come out of the opposite nostril and would only come out of the nostril I squirted it into. What's wrong here.
You are either not bent over far enough to allow gravity to work or your sinuses are completely blocked and will not allow for anything to pass through. Keep trying...it works great!
I either hold my breath or very, very gently breathe out through my mouth when I use the rinse. The whole trick is not to inhale it--gravity is supposed to do the job.
i just used this, all the snot just traveled to my nose
