that's happened to me before, sitting at home minding your own business and a bunch of trouble ends up in your living room through no fault of your own. A BIG pain in the rump, can't blame Mama for being ticked.
I think the funniest part is when Mama asked, "Well where r' you gonna live?" and Eunice said, "well here with you!!" and Mama had to calm RIGHT down, lol, and say, "now Eunice...lol!!! and told her to sit down and talk to her mama. LOL - It's not often you see her that compassionate. :D lol
wait..a massage parlour is just a massage parlour isn't it? like to get a massage? i don't get it...were only wives supposed to give their husbands massages back then?
Is there a cut in this? Mama says (around 3: 45) "Don't let Ed keep the house" but Eunice doens't make any reference that that is what she intends to do
So massage parlor had the same purpose back in the days? Some things don't change.

Maybe you're thinking of Eunice, the special
where Ed and Eunice have split up. Ed comes
back to try and get some money from her
brother (Ken Barry) who is a successful
writer.
"Eunice" is here on Youtube.
Dysfunctional families make for good
entertainment, but they're hell to live with.

Yes massage parlors in the 1970s were mostly fronts for bordellos.

@ diggit03:
Back then, massage parlors, at least most of them, had special little rooms way in the back and men would get extra special little favors. ;-}

You know, I love this and every other "Family" sketch. I can't believe Tim Conway wasn't in the original show "Mama's Family."
roosevelthighschool 3 years ago 3
Family was first on The Carol Burnett. Then The producers and writers after The Carol Burnett show quit, they did Mama's Family.

I just love Jim Nabors (Gomer Pyle from the Andy Griffith Show) and how he played the cab driver.
