Wenn man nicht trockenkentert, kann man eig mit 100% wahrscheinlichkeit sagen. dass der durchkentert. und auch sonst is das einfach ne irre langsame und schwere badewanne!!! da fand ich opti fast geiler!!!!!

I need some help. I am new to 420 racing ( but I have been sailing my whole life). My coach refuses to teach me how to sail downwind with the spinnaker up. He only coachs the lazer racers on the team. I don't know what his problem is, anyways caould anyone could me some tips on who to get started. Please? I am desprate!!

I love doing spin, I only learned recently, and i'm not all the fast with it, but its fun. I havent sailed since october tho

@GottaLove80s This is just what we do. Don't take it as gospel.

Not sure what kind of courses you're sailing (olympic/club racing etc) so generic answer here.

Get round the windward mark. bear off slightly to get the spinny up. I'm assuming a triangle here in an olympic course it's a dead run for the first round I believe.

Get the crew to set the pole (Guy) so he can keep the spinny filled an both bottom corners are level. if the spinny is collapsing let pole forward a bit.

@GottaLove80s He/she needs to constantly let out the sheet until the spinny curls then take it in a LITTLE bit. If you change course re-asess where the pole shoud be.

CLoser to the wind is closer to the forestay further off the opposite.

If you are close reaching with the spinny up first of all ask yourself if it's doing any good. In low winds it probably is but in higher winds better off in the bag.,.

If you're shootin' for international championships listen to your coach.

@edshift or if its semi planing conditions, bring the pole back, head down, jerk the board and kite at the same time on a wave, get planing, leave the board up more than usual, bring the pole back and crank the sheet and you can go waaay higher once youre planing :) what club? :)
