  • This is an awesome video!! Great soundtrack, too.

We've been going to La Chureca every year since 2006 to host free medical clinics. Will be going back next month!! I can'r wait!!!!

  • Ignorante

  • I went to Nicaragua 2 months ago on a Mission Trip and was appalled at the poverty. We heard about the dump and the living conditions but I never saw it personally. Thankyou for sharing! And rugco, God Bless you and your work!

  • i went there to hand out clothes and we provided sandwiches to the people and candy bags for the kids..it was sooo wierd to acctually see in person how people REALLY DO live in these conditions ...honestly i think its a totally diff experience being ther in person than seeing it on a video..i hope all the efforts being made provide a change soon

  • I just returned from there, and was left speechless. Thank God for Cherito and Project Chacocente.

  • This World has no LOVE!

  • This is the picture of living hell. The most horrific nightmare of developed countries.

  • instead of complaining about it why not give a donation?

  • I would, but there are uncrupoulous/corrupted officials that would steal the money away. (Like they always do).

  • Wow, I never knew that people lived in a landfill. That sucks. I like the rolling stones song though.

  • dude thats not whats important here

  • You are right. I take it back. Keep up the good work.

  • I've seen this video before...was this from Naropa's trip down to Nicaragua with Debbie Young? Well put together film. I like the sequence of the pictures. I have been to La Chureca and you did a good job of capturing emotions, and people.

  • Yes, this is from a delegation with the Americas Association for the Care of Children with Debbie Young. We have continued to return to La Chureca, unlike most visitors, and now have developed relationships with the people living there. We are in the process of starting a community development program and trying to teach empowerment to the children. Last spring we brought about 15 La Chureca children up to Jalapa for a week to help build a school.
