What's the deal with everyone saying that DMC 3 is that hard? Sure, I never cleared it on DMD but I finished the game on hard and it was a pretty smooth run. DMC3 also was the first DMC I played it and I never found it hard.

Anyways, it's a pretty bad ass game and everyone should play it at least once.

It's just super attack that was SUPPOSED to be used on Legendary Dark Knight mode (when you can play as Sparda himself) but was scrapped and then saved in this one alone segment that you play here.

i liked this game,the gameplay was way easy. i was about to beat the game in 5 hours on the hardest mode. the bosses were a joke. but my favriote boss was the first nelo angelo. but my favriote part is when you transform into sparda at the very ending. i would suggest this to ANY hardcore gamer.

Even though i did not play the first 2 DMC games, it seems like Dante is more afraid of seeing his close ones hurt in the first game than other games because he seems to let out more emotions than the other games, you know what i mean? In the beginning scene, he lets out way more emotion than DMC3 or DMC4; he holds it in but in DMC1 it is like he is almost silently begging to stop hurtin' his love oned or close ones, Know what I Mean?

Also, there's a reason for this.  In DMC3, prequel to DMC1, Dante loses his twin brother. He hates Mundus for enslaving his brother and manipulsting Trish, hence the anger you see here. Having defeated Mundus and seemingly freed Vergil, not to mention getting older, you see the more peacrful, smug Dante in 2 and 4. In terms of character development, it makes perfect sense.

Now that I've seen this comment again, I'd like to just add to my own thoughts. DMC3, Dante is young, brash, and thinks he's invulnerable, so he has that sort of wild crazy arrogance. The later games, his arrogance is there, but more calm and collected. Furthermore, the need for a wild, emotional character was CLEARLY filled by Nero in DMC4, who's a sort of protege to Dante (and obviously connected to Virgil, for that matter).

btw - at 5:16~5:20 you can press O (melee) and do a cyclone to hit Mundus (if you do it right) for big damage; really risky, though, and it took some practice for me to get it down.

It's also more powerful the more full DT symbols you have, so using it as soon as you have 3 may not always be the best thing to do.
