GW Bush uses the book, yet he kills, makes his own judgements, wont turn the other cheek. i believe ALL americans who use the book follow this unchristian philosophy. nobody i know will ask the question, "why do these things happen", accidents happen, terrorist pychos will happen. god doesnt fit in the answer anywhere. Can i also ask why you choose the bible, and not other religous texts to live life by. because i discard all religion, you discard all but one. we are quite similar.

The theology and philosophy in the Bible is based upon HISTORICAL EVENTS. Other religions are just ideas or a certain philosophy.

can anyone tell me why we look to a book, written at least 3,000 years ago, for a moral understanding? socrates, ad c350, was of higher moral value than jesus. but even throughout history other philosophers have built on his work. unfortunately we wouldnt be allowed to build on the bible, because that may be blasphemus. so what should we do? scrap the bible! plenty of toilet paper for years to come. teach philosophy, ideas. not rules

Well, look at a world that doesn't look to the book. It's an absolute joke. The Bible teaches how we SHOULD live, but because we are far too proud, ignorant and unthankful we don't use it as our law. Basically we say Gods law is not good enough for us or his laws are too hard to keep so we create our own. Pathetic, we abandom God, somethin crazy happens then we ask, "why" or "how did this happen" we reap what we sow, thats how.
