YHWH means "He causes to become" (God's name is a verb!). In English it is pronounced Jehovah. It's like Jesus. In Greek it is "Iisous/Iesous", in Hebrew it is Yeshua (Also Joshua is another form of this name). People pronounce it depending on the region and country.
The Name of God is not known in Hebrew. There are no vowel pointings for the Name, and so traditionally people have simply called Him LORD. This isn't a proper name of course, but a title. For those that complain that Yahweh is more acceptable as a pronounciation than Jehovah, let me ask who says? Jehovah is the form of the Name that has been used in English for several hundred years, and while some may feel Yahweh is more acceptable, scholars are increasingly certain that isn't so.

There are many gods that people worship. The term of god or lord is just a title. To tell them apart you use the name just like you do for people. Yahweh or Jehovah both are acceptable for the name of God in Hebrew. With is the same God that Jesus instructed his followers to worship. God, Jehovah which are only two of the names of him in the bible cause there is also ELOHIM which is the very first name of God in the old testament and is seen 2,300 times was shorted to EL see 250 times. False Religion... They are NOT the truth. These people are not Jehovah's Witnesses. Jehovah's Witnesses don't hop around singing hallelujah. True Witnesses of Jehovah respect the name. You can tell that these people don't mean what they say, how they are using Gods name and don't even believe it or realize it. God don't look down on these people with favor. YHWH means "He causes to become" (God's name is a verb!). In English it is pronounced Jehovah. It's like Jesus. In Greek it is "Iisous/Iesous", in Hebrew it is Yeshua (Also Joshua is another form of this name). People pronounce it depending on the region and country.

The Name of God is not known in Hebrew. There are no vowel pointings for the Name, and so traditionally people have simply called Him LORD. This isn't a proper name of course, but a title. For those that complain that Yahweh is more acceptable as a pronounciation than Jehovah, let me ask who says? Jehovah is the form of the Name that has been used in English for several hundred years, and while some may feel Yahweh is more acceptable, scholars are increasingly certain that isn't so.

There are many gods that people worship. The term of god or lord is just a title. To tell them apart you use the name just like you do for people. Yahweh or Jehovah both are acceptable for the name of God in Hebrew. With is the same God that Jesus instructed his followers to worship. For he said that there is only one that is HOLY and that is his father, JEHOVAH.

There is only one name that Jesus came to reveal in the New Covenant, and that's "FATHER"
Romans 8:15 - "... , but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, "Abba, Father." " Abba is a more intimate way to address your father. Its similar to crying out "Daddy!"
All that God IS in His covenant names, He IS as FATHER.

Many think the original pronunciation was Yahweh, however the name was lost in time during the 3rd to 2nd centuries BC. There are many ways to pronounce the name of the Lord, and even more ways to express it. It was also very rude of you to try and silence others.

wait a minute..some people say jesus is the saver and god, others say jehova is the d=father of jesus. ok so which one is god? as far as im concerned the name of god is jehova..

@hunterallen48 Jesus was God's only begotten son. God, Jehovah which are only two of the names of him in the bible cause there is also ELOHIM which is the very first name of God in the old testament and is seen 2,300 times was shorted to EL see 250 times. Yaweh which is seen the most in old testament at 7,000 times which has been changed by some to Jehovah though there were no V in the dialect at the time. But, regardless God is God and Jesus was his only son. The rest I am not sure about. GB

@andymission Sure it could be but there actually were no J or V's (sorry I forgot to mention the J's earlier) in the original Hebrew language. Just stating the history facts that's all. There are many names for God in the bible I only named a few. I think some are a title to him more than I name but I also think that he hears you to which ever name you call to him because they all praise him and all are in the bible.

@Mis4el1973 I don't know why someone would tell you that Jesus is so small minded that He won't talk to you unless you pronounce Hid name in Hebrew. Since Jesus is the creator of all of creation He will be able to speak to anyone in his or her language. Jesus came to save those which were and are lost in sin. No Jesus is not narrow minded.

You might have heard of the word Maschiah, or Messiah which is the hebrew definition of the greek word Khristos. It's what you do that matters. Not what u call urself. With all these different religions in the world you have to have a label for all the diff. beliefs, so your "theory" is of no importance. I'm sorry, whatever u say, God doesn't work throught the muslims. Never have, never will.

@FreedomFighterReturn First of all I wont be able to see him as he is a spirit. Second of all, I wont have to tell Christ that I'm a "christian", because he can clearly see that I follow his demands. Third of all, God doesn't tell you a-n-y-w-h-e-r-e in the Holy Scriptures (maybe in the misleading Qur'an) about calling yourself a muslim, to be a submitter to God. Kinda backfired at ya huh?
