I am a montreal Canadian who has many Sri Lankan friends who attended university with me, hence some knowledge on the subject. I think those living in SL should stop saying diaspora community opinion does not matter becuase it does. Both of my friends' parents HAD to leave because their business and houses had been bombed and one of them infact lost his baby sister and grandma who was sleeping in the house. I was talking on the phone with one of my cousin from Jaffna and he casually mentioned that on Independece day the SL army forced them to hang Sri Lankan flag infront of their store. My uncle was so scared he grabbed the phone and hung up as I later found out. They are not living under direct SL army supervision yet they are afraid to say one word against the goverment.

I am a montreal Canadian who has many Sri Lankan friends who attended university with me, hence some knowledge on the subject. I think those living in SL should stop saying diaspora community opinion does not matter becuase it does. Both of my friends' parents HAD to leave because their business and houses had been bombed and one of them infact lost his baby sister and grandma who was sleeping in the house. So infact they were forced to leave so they should have a say on political outcomes.

A few weeks ago, the Tamils in the rebel held areas were forced by the Sri Lankan army to come out of there after firing shells relentlessly. They were later sent to concentration camps. The girls were separated from their parents, raped and killed by the army. The males were shot and killed in execution style. These atrocities are not reported because of media ban. This is Sri lanka's democracy..!

If the Government wants to kill Tamils you fool, they would shell the area all over and finish it off once rather than going through a huge process wasting time and energy to sent them to concentration camps... separate them... rape them... shoot them. If they did that, are these ghosts you see in this video? This is common sense! Maybe you don't have that and just yell out when LTTE says some made-up story to you. THINK before you SPEAK!

Obviously, the terrorist Sri Lankan Government has shown only what Al-Jazeera had to see..! Take these alleged former child soldiers outside of the country and interview them..! They will tell you something else...! Such is the terror by the state that's gripping the island..!
Not all is lost though. The Govt's defense secretary and the Army commander who are US based (what a joke..!) are facing genocide indictment in the US. That speaks volumes of the Govt's credibility.

More than 50 civilians were feared killed in Theavipuram and Valipunam in Sri Lanka Army (SLA) artillery barrage on Friday, according to people who were reached Puthukkudiyiruppu Friday night. Meanwhile, medical staff at Maaththalan hospital said fifteen civilians were killed and 35 wounded at Iranaippaalai Saturday morning and that an elders home and the surrounding area came under artillery fire where four elders were killed and around 50 persons wounded.

The decision to appoint Des Browne was a gift from a former colonial power which failed to properly prepare his mission. The Sri Lankan government can now criticise Britain at a time when it has nothing to gain from allowing in a British envoy.

First I would like to extend my thanks to Al Jaseera. This is really a very rare video by international media. The real truth is tamil people are suffering because of LTTE. It should be properly identified by the people in the western world who may exposed to biased news telecasts by most media channels.

Tamil's diaspora and their loved ones are safely living in the western world. They can do (or say) any nonsense because they are perfectly safe, and that doesn't make them heros. They can make any stupid statements. Please don't forget that this campaign is not for people who are hiding in overseas. This whole campain is for the innocent people (both tamils and singhalese) who chose to live in Sri Lanka expecting oneday the "peace" will come on their way.
