I was going outside today to replant my daffodils and ran across your video .I want to see this yr video . hope they turned out great for you Now I'm going to try thx for posting this :D
@hufcar You are welcome. All of the replants came up, but they did not flower as I hoped. I captured springtime day by day video footage hoping to show a time lapse form little sprouts to flowers, but they did not flower, but they look healthy.
Im going to divide more (all of the) daffodils, but this year Im only going to put 2 or 3 BIGGER SIZED bulbs per hole, hoping they will flower better. I'll wait until next year to put it all together on video, unless people really want to see it now
@7777jayhawk It´s only natural that they didn´t flower has you hoped because they were very small bulbs all together...so, when they have time to grow each one bigger they will just bloom as you are used to see
@daveedbee LOL, uhmmmm.... Well first you need a flux capacitor, a refurbished Delorean and 1.21 gigawatts of electricity ....or you can just type May 14, 2011 when it is really only March 14, 2011
Today is May 14 2011 and I can report that all of the transplants came up. They have not flowered yet, but I am taking some more video, and will post it soon
PS
I will pass along that people told me it might be better to pick out the best bulbs and plant them seperately in their own hole. I wil try that after the blooms fall off in a month or so.... and then I will post back next year, and tell you how that works.... ANYWAY... The method in the video worked ok so far, I hope they bloom soon.
This was informative, thanks. I'm digging up my poorly flowering daffodils for the first time. I'm going to save the bulbs in a paper bag and replant in the fall. I hope there's a good showing of blooms next spring.
I too was wondering about dividing, and I am happy to share what mine looked like. Let us know how your paper bag bulbs work out. I choose to replant mine asap, in case I forgot, or was just too laxy come October ; ).
@7777jayhawk A year update- Well some came back but most did not. They sprouted leaves but no flowers, I'm thinking they'll shoot up next season, we will see... How did your fare?
