This "driver" should be shot! He failed to stop for a pedestrian, performed an illegal u-turn, cut off a motorcyclist disregarding his presence on the road and failed to stop for a pedestrian a second time. Deport his Mercedes ass back to Europe!
Youre correct, the Apex Skypark Robotic Parking facility is totally secure. Secure from theft, vandalism, scratches, dings and environmental elements. Your question: what happens if the transport system breaks down? Answer is: there is no signal point failure. The system has multiple redundancies; multiple transports, lifts; entry/exit points; and backup controllers. In addition to the multiple redundancies, the systems equipment is built with highly reliable industrial grade components
This is a long time coming. I spent a lot of time in Manhattan when I lived in New York and finding, fighting for and even affording parking is a nightmare. Skypark's efficient use of space and energy makes better use of exisiting volume and creates more parking space in the same foot print. Security is also a major plus. A NY crime ring actually removed entire engines from new cars in and replaced them with junker engines in a single day! While people were at work! They did caught, eventually
I think this is a great idea. Open space for parking is getting real scarce and I am tired of having to drive up multiple levels in existing parking structures. I usually end up parking on the uncovered roof top level and as the video points out, there is no security for my vehicle after I leave it.
Pretty brilliant idea. No more driving thru 3-4 levels of a parking garage to find a spot, door dings, and stairs. Also, ever forget where you parked? I'm just curious why you don't see things like this in todays "modern" world.
I think it sounds like a fantastic idea! It certainly eliminates having to search for your car, park in small spaces, and getting your car dinged by someone else's door!
That's totally awesome! So much safer and cost efficient and the biggest plus is I wouldn't forget which level I'm on and walk forever trying to find my car. What a great idea!
The video is old but the message remains the same, where there's a parking problem we have a parking solution. Our fully automated Robotic Parking Garages allow developers the opportunity to achieve their parking goals using aesthetically pleasing facades and reducing the footprint of the building by approximately 50%
I can see some problems with this -- What if someone stays in the car? What if someone loses/gets their ticket stolen? What if someone steals a car, parks it here then destroys the ticket? With only one person running the whole thing, can he be trusted with being able to resist theft of customers' cars, which I imagine would be really easy?
1) What if someone stays in the car? For detection, sensors are available & offered as option. The fact is crime of all types frequently in parking structures and parking lots. Our Robotic Parking Garage can help eliminate some of this crime as well as providing an economical solution for developer that's trying to solve the parking problems we all experience.
2) What if someone loses/gets their ticket stolen? We just need to know about what time you arrived at the garage, the make and color of your car. The system takes pictures of the car when you arrive; we even have a license plate recognition option available.
3) What if someone steals a car, parks it here then destroys the ticket? This would be a reason to purchase the license plate recognition option. If a car was identified as stolen we will retrieve the car and deliver it to the Exit Module for the police/tow truck.
4) With only one person running the whole thing, can he be trusted with being able to resist theft of customers' cars, which I imagine would be really easy? Automated Parking Garages in general are safe; 1) you need a ticket to retrieve the car; 2) you need the car keys; 3) no access within the garage, stairs, lighting, ramps, etc... 4) employees login and computer generates audit trail showing detailed transactions and times.

What a great concept. I would feel really safe leaving my car parked in this kind of parking garage.

Guess the technology never took off considering the video looks and sounds like late 80's early 90's.
