This BS4 is a defacto 3-star car. Its just that they overhauled the Euro NCAP rules and made them strikter.
Of'course it is very irritating that features like ESC that are defacto standards for all new european cars have such a great influence on the final scoring. (ESC doesn't help anyway in crash situation, it might prevent some crashes but is useless when the car is crashing)
So, yes the test is biased. But anyway it also shows that this BS4 is a relatively safe car.

Personally I consider ESP good for idiots who cannot drive a car around corners. But it is imo not that important that it justifies a 3 to 0 downgrade. The ADAC does not directly set up the EURO NCAP rules, but they have a say in it. It is a strange cooincidence indeed.
Yes the ADAC did say that this car would have 3 Stars if it had ESP. I find it a bit harsh myself too, but ESP should be standard nowdays. If you think ESP has anything about going around a corner you are wrong. There are certain things you can´t see from your position which ESP can correct to stop accidents.
But please spare me this "diffamation" of the ADAC against China cars. The rules are set for everyone China too.
The purpose of EURONCAP is to provide consumers in Europe regarding the safety performance of cars sold in the region. It is unethical for crash labs to conduct test of Chinese cars which are not yet sold in Europe at that time. It's an act to tarnish the image of Chinese car makers even before they are able to reach the required standard. It's an act to protect their own car industry. And im pretty sure this is not an official crash test, as the result was never published by EURONCAP.
This car is sold in Germany and was tested by the ADAC and it failed miserably. So please cut the conspiracy crap.
It´s "unethical" to run around and deny crash test made by professionals for the safety of people and to discredit them like you and many more are doing.
This car might be cheap, it might be good value, it might even be good (even so I doubt it seeing the BS6 I saw) but it ain´t one thing: SECURE!

I hope next time a VW will got a donnut in C-CNAP as a Chinese auto industry response to what had those German done.

This car does not OFFER ESP and ESP is part of a good balance security portfolio. See it this way, the ADAC could just have said 0 Stars and that is it. Instead they said that it was much better. If you would have read the summary you wuld have found out that despite the bad notes the impovments were complementary.
I did not see any statement in the NCAP new standard said somethinglike "any vehicle with out ESC should be rated as 0 star." If ADAC did not follow the ratting scheme to rate the test, then their result should be consider not creditable. The interesting story comes form ADAC's counter part in Belgium and Netherlands . Both of them rated the car as 3 stars. 2 against 1, ADAC lost, period.

Shenanigans! This is considerably better than the BS6 as anyone can clearly see. The passenger compartment is pretty much intact after both the front and side impacts.
According to ADAC, the evaluation is 3 star front impact, 4 star side impact; 3 star child safety. Theoretical 3 star overall, but no ESP (electronic stability control) kills the score.

That's exactly why it's defamation. A German car without ESP would've gotten 3 stars, but this car didn't BECAUSE it's Chinese.

This is absolutely ridiculous; ADAC said this car would get theoretically at least 3 stars; but the lack of ESC took it down to zero stars?
This is just defamation and slander. Brilliance should sue ADAC and demand retraction.
