  • when the challenger saw the theme his face was like 'WOW!' but the iron chef was like 'ha, i got this', love his face!

  • I didn't know making omelets could be so....cool ._.

  • Asians look like they're 12 until they're 55+ in which they suddenly look like a Bushido Sage or something

  • @ 7:38 japchae [jahp·chae] (잡채): Korean dish with various vegetables (typically thinly-sliced carrots, onion, spinach, and mushrooms) stir fried in sesame oil, usually with transparent noodles (dangmyeon), and sometimes with beef, soy sauce, and sugar, usually garnished with sesame seeds and chili pepper slices.

  • @DaDoc540 That is such a good Korean dish, im surprised that they didn't know what it was, since it is a pretty common korean dish. One of the top five, I would say, with kimchi, bulgogi, bibimbap, kimbap

  • 1:12

  • wang's so excited it's cute. i was convinced he was going to pick kenichi.

  • 六さん♪ 六さん♪ 六さん♪

  • The ingredients are always so expensive... these eggs probably came from low stress chicken who had personal masseurs.

  • "Bang a gong, we are ON!" LOL

  • Like two titans of cuisine battling it out. Michiba is LEGENDARY.

  • @XKSC

    MOST LEGNDARY OF THEM ALL!!!!!

  • @newtownlegends Dude no doubt. Michiba forever bro!

  • I love WANG! He's so energetic and young like a kid in a candy shop. He should be Iron Chef Chinese!!!

  • Can make one hell of an omelet with all those eggs

  • lol this challenger seems so excited i hope he does well

  • If this was scored based on skill.. challenger would've won hands down.

  • Takes time to write out the menu in calligraphy while the other side is frantic with activity. The dude has a taste for drama, don't he, if you're into these kinda cooking shows, that is.

  • 1:20 LOOOOOL HIS FACE ORGASMED OVER THOSE EGGS

  • this show has the BEST presentation ever....fuckin love it

  • i wonder why he didn't choose the chinese cuisine chef. is it common to challenge chefs who specialise in different cuisines other than the one the challenger intends to cook? it's pretty strange then, cause there wouldn't really be basis for comparison.

  • @miscellany

This is pretty common. Sometimes the challenger will challenge the Iron Chef that he considers the strongest, regardless of his specialty. Other times, personal grudges motivate the decision. Personally, I find cross-cuisine battles more interesting; it shows better the versatility of the theme ingredient.

It is all part of what makes this show so awesome.

  • Gotta love Ohta ♥

  • I love Wangs reaction when he sees the theme ingredient

he's just like "OMG not expecting but I'm happy about it!"

  • THE CHALLENGER IS 40? Holy crap.

  • I CHOOSE IRON CHEF CHEN KENICHI!

  • goosbumps and nerdgasm at the same time... only this show...

  • the dubbing is absolutely horrible!

Ah well, still love this show :P

  • The third announcer sounds like speed racer lol

  • aww the challenger looks so adorable, i loved the expression on his face too about the theme ingredient. love u japan and iron chef.

  • lol wang looks so excited while michiba's just keeping his icy cold stare haha

  • weren't they already informed of the ingredient before participating in the show in order to prepare the recipe for it? why does Zhijian look so surprised at 1:22. Lol... was it intentional? haha

  • Shoulda picked Iron Chef CHINESE!!!!!!!!

  • I love that the challenger is all fired up and hyper, smiling but he got all serious while cooking haha =D

  • JIZZ in my pants

    xD

  • TAMAGO!!!!!!!!! my favorite food

  • All these years of watching this epic show, i have never understood what the hell the dude below says whenever he intervenes the commentary.

Sounds to me like "SQUEZZE ON!'

  • Iron Chef program ingredients are on budget.

  • LOL. The challenger is 40 years old? God, he looks like he's in his mid or late 20s. Why are Asians always so... youthful looking?

  • @fire1202 well...

  • @fire1202 ...sigh~~ so true=.= i'm 16 almost 17,,,but ppl think i'm around 13...=.= i really dont know its a good thing or not......lol

  • @fire1202 it's in our genes, but you'll see when we get around 50-60, it's a matter of month to catch up with our age appearance LOL

  • @fire1202 Because Asian.

  • @fire1202 Rice. Not being racist but there is something it it that does it. Look it up :D

  • @fire1202 Because Asians are the healthiest people in on this Earth.

  • 1:22 At first he was like "wut?", but then he was all "OMFG YES!"

    imo anyways

  • 1:22 At first he was like "wut?", but then he was all "OMFG YES!"

    imo anyways

  • They r amazing ..

we r losing like these ppl in JP....

I still loving old JP foods.

  • Its not that the english version sucked, its just that americans cannot cook unless they go study abroad.

  • lol at the guys face when hes the eggs

  • oh man.....what i would give to have just one of those dishes the iron chefs make.......

  • haaha i dun think i've seen a challenger smile so much on iron chef!!

  • japanese people make everything look like a combat

with the music and stuff like that

but this is an awesome show

  • -sigh-

    I love Japanese TV.

  • Chinês burro , escolheu justamente um o mestre japonês , ( pense , progama japonês ) , ele nunca ganharia .

  • HE'S 40?

    ...I better start using night-cremes.

  • just wondering, are the commentators actually dubbed or are those comments made by the actual japanese commentators?

they don't seem ...to truly understand all things Japanese

they also seem awfully ignorant and arrogant

not to mention disrespectful and demeaning towards the chef

    '__';

  • odds are they give the English guys a rough translation and then have them say it in their own way, that would explain how well the comments flow at times...

  • xD poor michiba...always getting picked

  • Was he casting a spell on 7:24?

  • this shows awesome.... i watched it every chance i got as a kid now here it is on youtube. happy happy joy joy

  • zhijing,go go go

  • i have that 1:20 face all the time when i watch iron chef

  • It's pronounced SIU-MAI or SHIU-MAI. Not "Shao-Mai"

  • @LadyTigerLily siu-mai is Cantonese, shao-mai is mandarin, both of them are correct

  • @pongchen2000 Shao =/= Xiao, is what I'm saying. The commentator's dub misses the mark on both Mandarin and Cantonese.

  • @LadyTigerLily just remember that Chinese use characters not the spelling, you can spell 燒 as shao, and you can spell 燒 as xiao, besides, xiao is mainland china way of spelling but shao is taiwanese way of spelling, try not to use western way of thinking toward eastern natural

  • @pongchen2000 Yes, you're right, but I highly doubt that it's the case here. Pronunciation makes a big difference, even dialectal ones. The dub makes other similar mistakes, though their Japanese pronunciations tend to be okay.

  • mitiba^-^/

  • FUKU-SAN!!

  • @NIKKIselma i do that for a few days each time after i watch an episode of Iron Chef, and it drives my gf nuts! xD

  • Man, these announcer guys need to bone up on Korean.

  • funny drinking game we used to play, rock paper scissor fast, whoever lost had to take a shot next time someone said squizon !!!!

  • I don't think he's saying Squizon -_-

    But whatever... SQUIZON!

  • Squizon

  • thats a lot of eggs! i never seen so many eggs in one place!

  • SQUIZON!

  • epically epic!

  • 1:20 I think he likes eggs.

  • one korean dish

  • wow~ those eggs are in so good Quality!

    wow! this Show spends alot!

  • holy eggs batman

  • LOL i love the guys face when he sees the eggs... xp

  • Lol yeah. he came

  • This challenger is apparently under the impression that cooking is an Olympic sport and he thus must FIGHT FOR HIS MOTHERLAND. Chillax.

  • Check out Wang's face at 1:21. He looks so surprised and excited.

  • Reminds me of Kenichi. The way his face lights up.

  • lol I love how they try to figure out what chup cheah is. "French maybe?" - korean noodle dish is what michiba san meant to make

  • MAN when Chairman kaga introduced the eggs - then the followup introduction before the famous ALLEZ CUISINE - I felt what an EPIC feel it had wow I miss this show!

  • wouh!!

  • Comment removed

  • china vs japan. great.

  • lmfao word XD

  • lols, the challenger's face when they revealed the ingredient is priceless

  • What ran through his mind: "Holy shit, the cholesterol..."

  • he doesn't look like he was 40

  • He's 40?!

  • I hate how asians don't seem to age!

  • the host is scary looking

  • 道場六三郎の方がしっくりくるなぁ・・・

  • english version?

  • the english version suck balls

  • @doyeKoskenkorva iron chef america? i agree, the original is so much better.

  • Great show have you seen the pathetic copy from the U.S.A.? hahah Lol. They can be imitate, but, never equal to the real Iron Chef (Japanese)

  • dude

the food has its own theme music cool

  • Oh I wish he had picked up chef Chen...

  • wow the challenger looks really young for a 40 yo

  • scarred for life that is

  • his right hand is scary, with the heavy decoration. i would be scarred.

  • *sees eggs* =D

  • I don't think you could have described his reaction any more perfectly. Heh heh heh.

  • I wonder why the guy didn't pick Chen san. It'll nice to have an authentic Chinese chef going against what the Japanese considered to be Chinese cooking.

  • if there is such a thing as being born again...i want to be asian. i have the greatest respect for all asian cultur....im a redneck from close to atmore alabama.

  • LOL, the challenger's all excited about the eggs and Michiba's like,"OK, whatever, let's get the battle started."

  • lol, word up. the mans features were as stone

  • hahaa.. yearh... hahah..

  • Asian eggs healthy

  • I loved the challenger's reaction to the announcement of the ingredient.

    XDD

  • I know me to, just like he got goosed lmao

  • @meranchoria Yea he's like "OMG THATS AWESOME!!!!"

  • Jesus, he could've destroyed Chen...

  • i agree

  • Oh my gosh, the challenger's reaction.

    :O!!!!

    LOL!

    Good stuff.

  • Mmm, swallows nest.

Swallow's nest is made of swallow's saliva. (spit)

  • Heehee EGGS!

  • i love how the iron chefs have to rise up to the stage and maintain their funny poses for like thirty minutes

    love this show!!!

  • Yea hehe, very funny :D

  • They actually re-used the same clip after the first few episodes. The Iron Chefs were busy chefs on their own, they could not afford to stay in kitchen stadium nor dress up for TV. The Iron Chef was actually chosen by the challenger ahead of time. When I first heard about this, I was crushed! Hahaha.

  • really2 like this video n this reality of how delicious food r!!!!

  • Pride of China vs. prestegious Japanese cook = a really suspenseful show

  • Do the competing chefs and iron chefs at least have any idea of the theme before the match starts? It seems hard to just go out there with a whole team of people then suddenly having to cook with a random ingredient preparing dishes in sync with specific duties.

  • I know what chop che is! It's Korean noodles! mmm

  • Hi Aronyo Gicos

  • Lol. Mister challenger was like - O -!

  • challenger was fricken PUMPED about eggs, O.0!!

  • Both competitors went ovary and above.

  • I loved the challenger's reaction to the ingredient. Priceless!

  • like: O.O! ^^

  • Zhijian is so excited just to be there. It's an honor to be asked to battle against the Iron Chefs, but its also nice to know the challengers are appreciative for that opportunity.

  • swallow is a kind of bird..so swallow nest is its nest..but this nest is not make of wood or grass...the bird actually spit from its mouth to make the nest sticky. this sticky stuffs contain of high protein which, for chinese ppl....it's good for health n it's expensive too

  • Do the japanese/french use it as well?

  • no, chinese only

  • i believe the chinese use it to make bird's nest soup

  • It's the spit that allows the swallow to build a nest by sticking it together.

  • Can anyone tell me what is 'swallows nest' ???

  • It's quite surprising that they don't know what Chapchae is considering that Japan is close to Korea.

  • Lol, the face of the challenger right after the revealing of the ingredient looked like something went up his butt. Hahaha...

  • Go, Chinese chef!

  • Oh, there he goes writing the menu. Nevermind.

  • Did Michiba just forget to make his menu?

  • awsome face at the revealing of the food! hahahahaha

  • china vs japan. This one should be great.

  • I think this challenger should've got another chance, maybe with another ingredient.

  • it's amazing how they manage to turn everyday ingredients into such magnificant dishes. looking forward to this one as well (:

  • Im mad that this show dont come on anymore. This one was better than the American one.

  • That's because the american version is way too too fancy than this, even the kitchen stadium is too fancy...i agree, the japanese version is much much much better

  • didn't they make another egg one wi

  • I love it, it,s great

  • eggs!!!omg!!e ingredient is eggs!!!

  • The face on the challenger as the giant egg plate shows up is awesome

  • Groundbreaking battle!
