I was at this show sitting on the left side of the stage. Duff was walking towards me in front of the drum stage. A 1 liter water bottle was thrown from the top of Arco arena and hit the edge of the drum stage and shoot straight into duff's head right temple. I saw it and could not believe what I saw! Now what nobody here has said is that just before this song Axel was on stage for 5 minutes talking shit about Matalica.
This was fucking ridiculous, the imbecile that threw the bottle has no heart or soul, and doesnt care for anyones fun. hes probably one of those twats who think everything they do is right. Of any of them Duff was the one who didnt deserve it at all none of them did but him especially. He was the nicest, most social and truthful member of the band.

It was snowing on the Donner Pass - I'm sure that played a part in calling the show. The Reno show was fine!

I can watch this and remember this as the worst concert I've been to. I think it was 2 hours between Brian May and GnR, and when axl decided to finally grace us with his presence, he gave a speech about Metallica being racist ass holes. It's no wonder the crowd was rowdier than usual and alienated. What a waste of money that was. I couldn't believe this was the same band that played at day on the green in oakland with metallica. They were great that day.

I saw that damn bottle come flying from the back upper deck I remeber thinking (I worked for BGP) that no one was supposed to be back behind the stage in the second deck. Actually Duff and Slash quit drugs and alcohol for the most part before GNR quit. Axl was wasting their money, firing people without consulting the rest of the band, barely ever showed up for rehearsal and shows, and tried to control the band. Slash and Duff did clean up enough to keep the band running for as long as they could take it.
No dude! Get your facts straight. Slash was an alcoholic until 2001 or 02 something because he drank so much, he had to have a defribillator installed in his heart. He did do drugs as well. He got off heroine in 96 and Slash did oxytocin till he was in snakepit. The guy has been through a lot man. Duff had his pancreas exploded due to heavy drinking. Read Slash's book and you'll understand more. They're fucking badass dude!

@RonSharpsDeluxeTV Well dude I was there too! It was my first concert and I came down from Redding in an old RV with a bunch of friends with a sign on the back of our rig that read GNR our Bust! It was an awesome night regardless and I don't know how much duff was faking but it WAS a bottle of piss because me and my friend saw some big ass guy in what we think was a slayer shirt pissing in the bottle we looked away for a sec and it was in the air and no bottle in the dudes hand!

If Axl was the final victim,Axl would have revengefully beaten the fucking shit out of the perpetrator. He's done that kind of shit before,I think. Here and then,Axl didn't lose his mind(neither did Slash) like he has on several other occasions. Duff just bled a little bit and had tiny shards of broken glass surgically removed from his skin.

I have to give Slash a lot of credit for how he handled this. He was being reasonable by explaining what happened, saying it's not everyone's fault, asking everyone to leave peacefully, and saying they'd come back.
This is a hell of a lot better than Axl's way of just insulting everyone, throwing the mic, and just leaving (asshole).

Actually Duff and Slash quit drugs and alcohol for the most part before GNR quit. Axl was wasting their money, firing people without consulting the rest of the band, barely ever showed up for rehearsal and shows, and tried to control the band. Slash and Duff did clean up enough to keep the band running for as long as they could take it.

No dude! Get your facts straight. Slash was an alcoholic until 2001 or 02 something because he drank so much, he had to have a defribillator installed in his heart. He did do drugs as well. He got off heroine in 96 and Slash did oxytocin till he was in snakepit. The guy has been through a lot man. Duff had his pancreas exploded due to heavy drinking. Read Slash's book and you'll understand more. They're fucking badass dude!
