  • the latest in propeller design.

  • Any nerd here to explain this?

  • @g2laller frame rate my friend

  • Propeller factory.

  • I can't describe my reaction if i would wake up in plane and see this...

  • @StalkerDarius ´´what tha fuck did they mix my whiskey with??´´

    xD

  • I got my present today! It was a boomerang! It fell from the sky!

    The whole neighborhood received boomerangs!

  • should have turned on airplane mode idiot

  • He used animated iso surface in povray to render the propellers.

  • there must be a bug in the matrix

  • lol

  • extraterrestrial technology

  • Hopefully one of these lands on Jessica Black, or justing Beiber.

  • This is like a glitch in a game, vut real life.

  • What kind of black magic is this???

  • Con la crisis que hay y estos tirando hélices por ahí

  • surreal

  • Чистота кадров почти ровна скорости оборота винта:))

  • @MrIlyatos очень чИсто)

  • Explanation (sort of): The camera/phone is recording at a certain framerate that happens to line up with the the rotation of the propeller. Think about how a wheel that is spinning fast sometimes looks like it is spinning the other way. I also think that there might be something with the way the camera records each frame that results in the odd floating boomerang effect.

  • Irregularities in a matrix...

  • A optical harmonic derived from residual resonant refresh (RRR) viewed only within the Matrix Construct.

  • この動画、NHKの番組で紹介されとったわ。

  • derp fest.

  • WHAT IS HAPPENING, I DON'T UNDERSTANDDD

  • @codyxvasco592

    Fps is insufficient.

  • Can anyone give me some explanation?

  • @RavenOfTheSerenade

the camera is just too slow to see the propellers moving so fast

  • who stole 0:25 ? come on, own up

  • You won't get far now.

  • man that is so cool or is it the weed

  • Good thing they had all those extra propellers.

  • And if you look to your left, you will see the propellers of the aircraft breaking off and drifting downward. Do not panic, as this is normal.

  • It never ceases to amaze me what i won't jerk off to.

  • That's probably distortion by the window more than the camera.

  • @zachsbanks Backdrop doesn't look distorted.

  • REALITY.EXE has stopped working.

  • Amazing comments section

  • I want to report a bug what is god's number ?

  • well, dropping all those propellers has to improve the gas mieage

  • You people laugh, but these blades killed 20 people when this plane flew over my town.

  • 2012 is coming... here's the proof!

  • thats alot of snowboards coming down, just wondering why they were coming down in august.

  • this video would be the exact opposite of a little child expanding upon his knowledge.... learns good solid facts while her brain is forming new ideas all the time. learned from past ones and into these. Backwards flipping propellers must be eye candy for the brain. mess 'em up real good.

  • angle of the sun, reflection on the window

  • patched on 9.7.2 beta

  • Can someone explain to me what is happening?

  • stopping drinking right now!!!

  • God we have a glitch again.

    God: DAMNIT , NOT AGAIN.

  • aliens...

  • cool I just wanna have fun with you

  • sending glitch report to god...........

  • i call hax

  • That is fucking awesome looking!

  • people gotta start patching this hax

  • so thats how planes fly, they throw out bomarangs

  • LOL

  • use a phone camera........it works (Already came out in a Korean TV program called Sponge 0.)

  • The camera never lies...

  • It's Salvador Dali in real-time

  • so thats how planes fly

  • LOL.... greatest camera ever invented!!

  • Those boomerangs should come back any minute now.

  • It's just shedding its skin dimwits!

  • And we're waiting for God's latest patch...

  • Propeller rpm divided by camera frame rate or scan rate.

Propeller is probably rotating 3600 rpm

  • Boomerang leaking propeller ? This deserves at least 5 nobel prices.

  • wat?

  • Very nice! Good catch man!

  • SO THATS HOW IT WORKS...hahaha

  • Looks like something from the 4th dimension o.O

  • Looks like the pilot has a Portal gun...

  • This is the result of high shutter speed, and video scanning downward in sync with the propellers rotational speed.

in other words, the camera records by scanning each frame form the top down in lines, and in bright conditions such as this the high shutter speeds allow each frame scan to only capture a small part of the propeller as the scan lines move down and with each following frame the camera captures more parts of it in a downward motion thereby creating this illusion.

  • wow, according to the mobile phone companies, that's the best full HQ camera phone in the market!! pf can't even record blades at full velocity properly...

  • unlimeted resource of metal yeah

  • This is intact not a passenger plane but a UFO which this poor man accidentally found himself filming on

  • すげぇ~

  • The shark teeth of propellers.

  • coooool

  • maydey maydey my propellers are falling

  • a glitch in matrix

  • @Lockon76 Don't worry, It'll be repaired shortly (Old jokes ftw)

  • yup we need a new update to fix that

  • Why was this guys phone on in the first place?

  • wow really cool effect i wonder how that happens. LOL!! to Australian carpet bombing

  • @MadShepard some cameras take images by scanning it from the top to the bottom, if you imagine scanning something while its moving really fast, the same object becomes distorted and looks completely different.

  • @Grimdopple ahh thank you for the explanation that makes sense. it's f'n cool anyway

  • its a glitch!!! :O :P

  • free surfboards

  • Boomerangs descending from the heavens :D

  • It's called the rolling shutter effect

  • 0_O

  • I think you were in the strobosphere

  • @219646 lol

  • я хер что понял что тут в комментах

  • What the... O_O

  • hi

  • bomerang despenser

  • Infinite blade props lol

  • You mean this isn't normal?

  • Troll Propellers.

  • if i shine a red light at a fan at night i can do this effect with my eyes takes a while to do it but i can do it....

  • @jtgober87

    U mad bro?

  • Oh noeezzz

  • FUUUUUUUU-

    That's terrifying

  • I sense Megatron is here !!!

  • its a slitscan effect, not a stroboscopic one

  • Am I high on heroine or was that for real?

  • @Sinruroku first off, heroin doesn't make you hallucinate like that. and dont put an e on the end, dumbass

  • @jtgober87 It may be possible for the individual to be so faded in delirium that he/she imagines what they see.. Likely under heavy amounts of said opiates.

  • WHERE ARE THEY GOING??

  • @IPS0125 to shadizar

  • propeller breaks off, another one replaces it. genius design

  • That IS curious!

  • @melfunction5 The sensor in the camera updates footage line by line, so you get this effect with fast moving objects. If it was updating the whole sensor at once, you would see regular blurry blades. This happens with really expensive cameras too that work this way.

  • @badwolfshamma ROFLMAO! I wish there was a funny comment award, man... Thumbs up just won't do it! And that we could retwitt comments... i know it seems exagerated, but it's just that that's so my kind of humour! LOL And apparently, everyone elses!

  • even god fucks up irl coding :) but im sure he'll fix this glitch in the next patch

  • What the f**K is that??????

can someone explain whats going on?

  • @RobertsDigital its called the Rolling Shutter Effect... has all to do with the way the camera is processing the image.

  • WTF

  • Wait, What????? O.O

This must be the most AWSOME visual efect EVER! and it has my name =P

  • Pilot: *looks out window* " Oh shit, oh shit oh shit!!!"

  • Coolest camera-phone video EVER. Thanks for sharing! Trippy effect!!

  • You obviously didn't listen when they told you to turn off your cell phone. XD

Rolling shutter does some crazy stuff though!

  • Bug of the Life !!

  • самолёт лепит бумеранги...

  • Woaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah hahahahahahahahahaha AWESOME.

  • boomerangs !!

  • This has something to do with curvature of a window rather then with stroboscopic effect.

  • @badwolfshamma sir, you are made of EPIC

  • This is a Rolling shuttter effect. It has two videos combined or has a mirror.

  • I guess someone divided by zero lol

  • Comment removed

  • Wow. That's crazy weird.

  • wow, this is weird, indeed! I wonder how can it be explained... :-?

  • @puftepos lookup "rolling shutter" and you will understand

  • Hold the camera horizontally vs vertically and you'll notice a different look. The same thing happens on my Samsung Moment M900. I think I lost the video I had of it though... :(

  • FUNNY

  • Can Final Cut Pro X fix this? Hah!

  • 20 people didnt receive their order of boomerangs

  • Chuck norris playing blackops= 8 kill streak Boomerangs have been deployed where do you want them?

  • looks like a fatal case of boomerang diarrhea to me. That plane's a goner.

  • carpet bombing.. australian style

  • @slipknot2b4ever reusable explosives, Ingenious!

  • @slipknot2b4ever but have not kangaroos D:

  • @slipknot2b4ever damn thats what i wanted to post^^

  • glitch in the matrix, ha

  • just illusion..

  • @4lenidze really???

  • Don't worry... it's uhh... supposed to do that...

  • It's caused by the rolling shutter in a camera with a CMOS sensor. This can cause several artifacts, one of which is 'smear', which can be seen in this video.

Source: wikipedia article on 'rolling shutter' (it actually links to this video, that's how i came here).

  • haha. great stuff.

  • caused by the convex shape of the window.Fish eye effect

  • ...moving fast enough that it moves between data being pulled from the camera, so it appears to be in several pieces. I bet that if you turned the camera sideways you would get a slightly different tearing effect (because the data is pulled sequentially, from left to right in rows). It should be visually different.

  • This is a really interesting effect. I bet it's related to how the data is pulled from the camera. A film based camera exposes all of the film in a frame at once, webcams will pull enough data to fill a USB data packet at once, camera phones probably pull very small packets since the camera is onboard (and doing so would require less hardware). So you get a very small portion of the picture, then after a very small delay you get another very small portion of the picture. The propeller is...

  • It's a glitch in the matrix, damn you windows 95'

  • Enemy Boomerangs in sight!!

  • I imagine this is what LSD hallucinations look like.

Amazing video! Do you have any idea what causes this? All the stroboscopic effects I've seen so far haven't distorted the subject like this.

  • @AsymptoteInverse Its not what they look like at all. Its cool though.

  • Glitch in the system!

  • who divided by 0 again?
