  • Thank you for not adding some stupid soundtrack and/or subtitled commentary to this.

  • Mobile phones took rubbish videos back in them days, didn't they.

  • bob fitzsimmons the first 3 weight boxer

  • @GJNCA so what ur saying is, corbett could have got up?

  • Bob was a bonebreaker. Corbett a great boxer. These two were part of a golden era that include Sullivan, Jefrries, Sharkey and Peter Jackson.

  • @1899sharkey that Tom Sharkey was one hell of a puncher

  • I timed the completed round shown here as five minutes, and the interval preceding it seemed to take an inordinate length of time too. Everybody seems to be moving at about normal speed, so you have to wonder how tightly the Queensbury rules were followed for this fight.

  • @madmax8903 The round were 3 minutes long. Everybody seems to be moving slow, indeed.

  • @Nostalgico80 It is the filming process. They were not moving that slow when the event transpired.

  • Did uz know wayne rooney is bobs grandson.

  • Believe it or not, "Gentleman" Jim Corbett is my brother.

  • @TheDommeran ye same as

  • Amazing how this is from 1897, and boxing really hasn't changed all too much since then.

  • corbett put fitz down for 12 secs..he was robbed!!!

  • @dretety a pure canard

  • @eslubin this is no fable or rumour...one has to be able to count however...quite simple to count to twelve and Fitz is down for 12 secs.

  • @dretety this film playback is slow

  • @dretety yeah and gene tunney was down for 14 seconds

  • He's related to me on my fathers side.

  • I'm not joking when i say this but, Gentleman Jim Corbett is my cousin 5th removed! i pinky swear on that!

  • Comment removed

  • you can see corbett's butt cheeks

  • @kelloggcerealxoxo so what?

  • Great post!! Thanks..

  • why are there hands so low?

  • to lure the other guy into throwing a punch so they can counter

  • There hands are low as that was the style, not to draw the other guy in, you have to remember gloved boxing was still very young here and still evolving from the bare knuckle days, where they held their hands very low as that was the style and it is still evident here.

  • @gangst1978 yeah but bare knucklers held their hands low for the same reason

  • "Gentleman Jim" Corbett is my great, great Uncle :)

  • That is really cool :)
