  • Haha wow. You were already talking about a shreddable single-cut, the ml-2!

  • what's the price of these beauties? ^^

  • HEY! I got one of these but no sticker D=

  • 0.58 Lol Monkey Ninja moment :D

  • ebony board, mahogany body, wilkison trem, bone nut

as the ML says, its gotta be pure win

  • better not cover up hat "big trouble in little china" poster

  • Damn I want this guitar... Looks amazing, and the price...damn

I'm going to work to gather the money.

Rob, do you think that the next year will be some of these in stock?

    Greatings from Chile!

  • @lordtkn nunca pense q me iba a encontrar cn alguien de chile en los videos de este wn

te compraste la guitarra? taba pensando en comprarla, pero no se si vale la pena too el weveo de traerla desde europa

  • i wonder where this guitar brand/company will be in a year.

  • look off to the right that is a giant ass tea cup lol

  • pure brent with little irony

  • "I bringeth the win" .. LOL .. Chappers, you're the shit !

  • Yo Chappers!

Seriously dude...how do you keep this guitar so cheap?! those specs require at least triple the amount!

Wicked job though, it looks killer!

  • i seriously hope chappers keeps up the guitars!! i would love to see a HH or HSH set or thru neck. That would be such a dream lol

    oh and left handed :(

  • can i custom make 1

  • dean should sue you

  • why because it has a similar model name?

  • Are you making any left handers? If you could keep the neck as is with a left handed body I'd have the tele type headstock the right way round.

Plus, if you need anyone left handed to trial one of these, I don't mind biting the bullet and putting my name forward as a potential guinea pig ( or should it be monkey? ).

  • I see Jim root playing this guitar... :D

  • kickass trem block

  • god damit man thee minute i get money im buying this i promise....it may be quite some time but till then ill carry on busking and robbing old ladies!!

  • I would love the next guitar to have a hum in the neck and bridge ;) and the big thing is please make a left handed model ;)

  • Collaborative design is a beautiful idea! Very cool! I wish you and the players success and a great time with their guitars!

    Fine design and great price!

  • please make more than 100.. i reserved one ages ago, but i doubt i was in the first 100 =(

  • Due to the amount of awesome currently present, we will now be making 500 ;-)

    Me

  • Glad to hear you'll have a model for Approx. $420. The Nazis at Gibson should take note. The guitar looks amazing.

  • Excellent stuff, keep up the good work :)

  • What's the song in the intro?

  • That is "Bleed the light" from my album "Red Dream" by Rob Chapman. It's available on iTunes ;-)

  • Hey lord Chapington, I'm pretty sure I'm going to get an ML1, I just have to check with the male and female apes in my house that people call parents. Still great vids, keep them coming \m/

  • Cheers mate, tell them it's educational and prove to them that you are serious about music ;-)

  • Thumbs up, just had to convince them I would rather have a win-ful new guitar instead of a new set of golf clubs. Is mine one of the first 50? :0)

  • Ha ha golf clubs!!?? WTF I ahve pre-sold over 170 already mate, but I may sign them all yet...

  • Hey Rob! Great looking guitar, I was wondering if your knew what neck radius this is gonna have?

  • Hi mate, I get the prototypes in a few weeks so I'll tell you for sure then, It will be a Shallow C ;-)

  • Cheers Rob! Love the Big Trouble in Little China poster :)

  • Blower Switch

Whether you're in single coil or Humbucker Tapped mini toggle will take you directly to Full On Humbucker and back.

  • scuse my technical noobery but wats a trem block?

  • It's basically a block of material (often wood) that is placed into the works of a movable bridge (one with a "whammy bar") in order to stop it from moving, effectively turning it into a fixed-bridge guitar for purposes of stability, drop tuning, etc. Look in Chappers' videos for a how-to on blocking a trem - he explains everything.

  • urf sorry was typing with a pick between my fingers haha

  • oh btw i would be into one but i am a superstrat man msot of the time, giving up the 24frets would be a hard thing for me too do ..... but i am looking forward the next model.

i have allways wanted to make a guitar but i hve never had the tools :(

  • Dude if you can't say it on 22 fret's, it aint worth saying!! Next model will be a singlecut \m/

  • haha its not the frests its the position of the necj in relation to the sitting position and the comfort of the reach in the higher frets i rarely go above 22 but 24 makes the 22nd feel like a nice place to be :) i do have quite large hands though

  • loving the subliminal messaging :D

  • ha ha wat?? If it's there it's subliminal.

  • touche :P

  • well lets hope i will have the money b christmas and i wish there were a set neck version so there were some major sustain

  • cool guitar man ! wish I have money for this baby :D

  • What about Left Handed Models? Are they available???

  • Working on it mate, will know really soon ;-)

  • Cool, thanks :o)

  • Off the subject a bit; I had my interview at ICMP yesterday as I have applied to do the guitar degree there. I was asked to play a few chords and scales in different positions etc and was sailing through thinking 'this is great, I'm gonna get a place!' But then my worst nightmare unfolded; the guy gave me a sheet of music to play. He said you need to be grade 6 at sight reading to get onto degree, and I can't read a note!

  • Basically they said I'm there, but my sight reading totally lets me down, so they are talking about giving me a conditionary place for 2010 if I can get my sight reading skills from grade 1 to grade 6 in a year, which to me sounds impossible!

Do you have any tips/books etc that you could recommend to help rapidly improve my music reading skills? It sounds like a really cool place and I'd be gutted if I didn't get in.

All the best, Josh. (By the way the song at the beginning is awesome!)

  • You can do it, apply your self!! Get some reading sheets from the ICMP to help you out... take it slow and do an hour every single day. If you want it enough you will do it, your real journey starts here ;-)

  • looks really sweet man!

hey, what amp is that right there?

  • The amp is a fantastic Coolidge Outlander 100 ;-)

I have a demo on Youtube!

  • oh!didn't see the demo, gonna check it out right now, rock on man!

  • Between my hands : D

  • What about Left handed Models?

  • Thanks mate, Blackout is a great choice! I might go for some Bare Knuckles ;-)

  • Damn finslly someone takes the idea to create a guitar made for the players and by the players and the economy takes a dump and I HAVE NO MONEY!

  • Ha ha realx mate, it's available to buy in mid Nov, there is time!! ;-)

  • Incredibly exciting, Rob! And what a flippin' BEAUTY! Your company really has HEART...I love this concept!

    All the best,

    Joy/the Leopard Lounge

  • Thanks mate, love your name!

  • Just saw your name in TG with this signature guitar! Well done, Chapsticle! You've made gear history! :o)

  • Cheers mate I can't believe that I'll have one in my hands in 6 weeks time! Couldn't have done it without you guys ;-)

  • Just Saw the ML-1 mentioned in Total Guitar in the Hottest new gear on way section, there calling it 'The Peoples Axe', you were up there with the likes of MXR, Gibson, EHX and EMG, the Eve of the Monkey Lord Supremacy Approaches!

  • Thanks mate, it is very exciting! ;-)

  • I should have suggested an Alder body. Very metal. But, of course i'm still going to buy :) Just registered on your site! (Y)

  • Thanks mate, can't wait to show you the prototype!

  • Can't wait to see it! (Y)

  • WIN! I have acquired a job! I now may be able to buy two of your models!

  • Two of them...!! Wow, you could have one metal machine and one blues!

  • Comment removed

  • cant wait to see it in the wooden flesh

  • Hey Rob! great idea you have there! any lefty planned?

  • Hi mate, the more lefties register there intention to buy one the more chance of us making some... at the moment I believe we have 4 lefty reservations so add your voice! ;-)

  • Thanks for your answer! if the economy is on my side I'll register one! Cheers!

  • Cheers mate ;-)

  • It's not an infinity symbol, it's an eight (unless you go into Zakk Wylde stance). An eight is kinda boring imo. An eleven in the 12th fret would be cool though :-)

  • Comment removed

  • Dude, he designed it... He also designed the infinity inlay, so he also meant it was an infinty inlay. And even if it was an eight it doesn't even look like an eight anyway... An eight doens't exatly make a cross in the middle.

  • Didn't mean to hurt your feelings, man. All I'm saying is that most people in front of a monkey minion wielding that axe won't understand that symbol as an infinity symbol, although it's 'meant' to be one. You see it as one because the trailer said so.

  • It's a double meaning because if you read it as an eight it can stand for octave... I think most people will recognize it as an infinity symbol though ;-)

  • Please tell me ML stands for Monkey Love.

  • Hm, who knows, I may wind up with one of these. I guess I'll shoot an email to that address soon. I'll probably get Will Boggs to wind me a set of pickups for it.

(Ah the joy of having a working computer again).

  • Monkey minion says... Hello Rob!

  • Greetings minion how fair thee?

  • wow that seems pretty good value, whats the build quality going to be like? where are they being made?

  • She will be made in our finest oriental factory, and I will personally make sure they are kick ass killer awesome!

  • ahahah Kiskae, gotta love it.

  • does it include the pickguard still

  • Not sure yet, got to check the prices of parts then I'll know ;-)

  • what i would have done with this rob, and i dunno if its too late to do so. but have a prototype made FIRST at the factory they are using. then send the proto to you for review, post a video review, and THEN really roll with the preorders. also if theres only going to be 100 made, might want to ask for 100 plastic cavity covers NOW. sign those, just a few each day and with what will seem like seemingly no time at all each day, you will have signed all 100 guitars =D. just a though bro

  • Hi mate, I wanted the guys involved at every stage hence this way of working. However I will be receiving some prototypes soon to review... Also your idea of signing the cavity covers in advance is genius so thanks for that, I'll call the guys now ;-)

  • ah fuck i want one but no money :P cant wait mabey i will be able to get the next one

  • thats an awesome tremblock

  • i think it should be an ibanez RG-ish shape that would look better for meatly rock, but that looks cool too

  • Seems to be a relly nice girl !!! Please, could you post a mp3 of this beauty without amp, effect, I mean only the guitare and no connection ???

    Best regards

    Pascal ROLLIN

  • I want that yngwie malmsteen poster!!

  • 1 thing i don't understand about the guitar: wy does it have a bone nut and a tremelo. for a tremelo it has to slip easily through and a bone nut does slip, so...

  • i would have thought chappers would get one made special for him just soo he has one

    before anyone else.

  • for that much man...i would but...man i really need to buy an Egnater 4x12 and won't have enough money to buy your signature...maybe the next one man

  • Is that guitar only gonna cost 420$? That's not much is it. If it wil only cost 420 I will buy 1

  • 0:58

    LMAO!

  • as im not a strat man and i need a tube amp i wont be getting one, although i have been dreaming of the day for a shredable single cut - just please make it black with white binding everywhere :D

  • your guitar is very cool

  • Thanks mate I can't wait to get one myself!!

  • damn nice guitar :D

  • can you put a floyd rose in it? just wondering coz i dont know ho blocked trems work and how to take it out and stuff

  • Hi Vinny, I have a video tutorial about blocked off trems that you might find useful. Just search "Rob Chappers how to block trem" ;-)

  • rofl it makes me want to learn how to play guitar

  • Shared it with 1015 friends of mine !

And damn I want one, too bad I don't have any money !!!

  • thanks Rid, you are a legend ;-)

  • Thanks for sharing Ridvan.

  • have just emailed you my details, hope everything is there.... if theres no more geetars left for me, im gonna be sooooo gutted, i want one bad!!

  • Hi mate, the tune is called Bleed the light. I have several videos up on Youtube teaching it ;-)

  • HAIL MONKEYLORD

I have emailed you my contact details, can't wait

  • Thanks mate, I can't wait to get mine either!!

  • Damn Damn Damn. I desparately want one of thoes, they're amazing, but i have no money, i can't even afford some crappy little guitar

    let alone this

    I hate having no money

  • This is actually an incredible guitar at only £250!! Crazy!!!

  • The manatee smiles on those who reserve! LMAO!

  • I think it's a really great idea man and I'm glad it happened but I'm going to be honest and say that I hope it will look alot better in real life than on that preview because that is one ugly finish to my tastes!

  • You should contact Guinness World Records people about the "World's First Collaborative Guitar Design", then you can have a little certificate out on the Wall of Win.

  • You know what mate! That is exactly what we are doing right now ha ha ;-)

  • i dont know about the first colaberative design, because the first person to do something is always the first, and cant be challenged, and all titles are chalengeable, but i think maybe the most people involved with a colaberative design would be something do-able

  • welcome chappers !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Congrats, Chappers. It's all happening.

    Respect.

Also, lol'd at $420. What does Chappers do for his inspiration, huh?

    Lol jk.

    Respect.

  • CHAPPERS!! i just reserved myself one of your guitar(or at least i think i did) i would have liked a reverse strat headstock but hey, its still a great guitar and im really looking forward to moddin it with some new pups and a paintjob im also looking forward to a possible singlecut as im a les paul kinda guy , anyway im rambling

    well done

    Brian from glasgow :D

  • Comment removed

  • Thanks Brian!! Look forward to watching you abuse it ;-)

  • that guitar looks killer i really want to buy one but i only have like 20 bucks, if i had $420 i would definitely buy one im looking forward to seeing the 2nd model and im really happy everything is coming together for you

  • I am so gunna buy this once i get my job and save a bit more. I love everything you're doing. Guitar lessons, tips and tricks etc etc.

I just know that this will be a great guitar since you play everything I love. Great range and the price seems very generous.

    Nice work, Rhys. (Y)

  • Cheers Rhys I appreciate that dude! ;-)

  • Hey Rob, I've emailed and I hope I have one reserved, really looking forward to this guitar, I was looking for a strat for shredding and this looks perfect. So what is the actual price for the guitar in Pounds?? $420 sounds really decent anyway... Louis

  • Mate, I am really excited by this, I was in my local guitar haven this morning discussing this concept with the guys and they cannot believe this has never been done before with a community collaboration.

  • if i knew i would have the money by then i would definitely put a reserve on one, but unfortunately i am short on cash and when i do get some money i have to invest in a new amplifier.

  • wow chapper's!

you must be VERY VERY proud :-)

  • Oh dude... you have no idea how proud I am! It's a dream come true... I know I should be all cool about it, but I'm just not that kind of guy, it's freaking amazing ;-)

  • When will these be released?

  • Hi mate, the ML1 should be ready some time in Nov ;-)

  • I like this idea. It's your signature guitar, but at the same time, it's the people's signature guitar, too.

Can people in the U.S. get one?

  • Thanks mate, yeah I like to involve people in everything I do ;-)

Yes the guitar will be available in the states, we already have many reservations from USA \m/

    ME

  • hey rob i was wodering are you using a green screen im really frustrated bout it :P and AMAZING new guitar best of luck with your career :)

  • Sweeeeet!

    Just sent an email...

Dont be all gone, dont be all gone, dont be all gone....

  • I'm sure there will be one for you there mate! ;-)

  • A few questions:

    1) Why is it a limited run? Why not put them in guitar shops to see how they do and just throw in something special with the first 100.

    2) How can we truly want to customize them knowing they are a limited run of the original monkey lord guitars and are possibly going to be worth thousands of dollars one day if we keep them in good condition?

  • Hi mate, some good question there! It's a limited run because I doubt many guitar stores would stock my guitar since I am relatively unknown, and since we have no idea how many will sell it's safer to make just a few guitars. You can customize them because that's what they are for!! Have fun with them, experiment with pups and find your own sound, or just keep it as is... it's up to you mate ;-)

  • Hey , are you gonna play them when they are built to see how good they are?

  • Of course mate, I am going to shred it to pieces!! Ha ha Will be testing the Killpot soon ;-)

  • Damn right you'll never get tired of the "between my hands thing". I wish I'd thought of it.

  • noooo...why not the ML2? :D but I like the headstock...grats Rob :)

    Addie

  • Congrats rob! Deff reserving one,

  • $412 usd

  • how much will it cost in US dollars?

  • somewere in the late 400's

  • how much in the US?!?

  • You went with the cock-stock! lol

This is very cool. I wish I had money. I would get this.

And the next design will be a single-cut you say? NOW I'm excited! =D

  • 7 string version?

  • SIck!

  • Chappers what do i email you to reserve i have the address but alas no content???

  • Hi Vexion, just put your contact details, how many guitars you would like and which country you are from ;-)

    Cheers mate

  • Lovely, cant wait to get one :D

  • Thanks Vexion ;-)

  • Chappers...if you do not check out my bands channel...then a cow shall fall on thy head!!!

  • yes...it may seem frightening...yet it is the only thing that I could think of....call it my undiscovered creativity!!!

  • so rob!

when are we going to know if we get one or not? :D it's only been about 2 hours and already i'm dying inside :P

  • You will know they are all sold if you get a reply from Barnes & Mullins telling you that were too late. I'm sure you will be ok mate ;-)

  • Is the inlay to symbolise your being a level infinity Monkey Lord?

Awesome guitar Chappers, you got the hardware just right - it's perfectly suited to uprade to a £700 range win machine with minimal effort! \m/

  • Oh, and where does one get such a HUGE coffee chalice!?

  • Ha ha that would be a secret... I may get a bigger one yet \m/

  • Thanks mate yeah that was the concept!! I just wanted a guitar that goes to infinity ;-)
