Wow. Ashley is such a brilliant skater and she moves so eloquently to the music. I'd like to think that a girl like Ashley was Ennio Morricone's inspiration when he wrote this beautiful music.
she seemed to have psyched herself out at last years nationals and never really recovered. but here she looks very poised and polished, a different skater. she's got just as much a shot at the Olympic team as anyone else...she just has to keep her cool and not get to excited or over-think her performances.
I love the new sp! Way better than her new lp imo. It has potential to be a masterpiece! Not a fan of the step sequence though. Hope she'll improve as the season progresses.
She said in an interview that the lp is still being polished with the choreography, so it'll get better. :) I wish she had better edging too though. :( That was one of my biggest critisms of her-- she improved her spins vastly since juniors as well as her expression, but the edge quality and tightness of the steps need to become more refined.
Potential doesn't win medals. Ashley is in a very tough field. SASHA COHEN, Rachael Flatt, Caroline Zhang, Mirai Nagasu, Alissa Czisny... and only 2 spots for Olympics and Worlds. Ashley has yet to win gold or even silver at a senior-level event.
All I'm saying is, she needs to be at the top of her game (or probably raise her game) to make one of those 2 slots. Best of luck to all the girls, and may the best skaters win...
You are right. These are my predictions: The Olympic team is going to be Zhang's and Mirai's or perhaps Rachael's to loose. As much as I love them, I don't see neither Sasha nor Alissa on Vancouver's ice since they are too inconsistent. Ashley, if clean, can definitely grab a spot as well.
I was pleasantly surprised with her improvement last year, and then she seems to have improved a lot this year too! I love this program. Good luck to her!
Excellent job, I know that you are training very hard to make this program perfect, you are very close to achieve that, I've notice a big improvement on the artistic side, keep it up, those PCS marks will count big time especially now with Sasha Cohen returning!
but there was no diffrence at all from her flip and her lutz. She has a major problem that really needs to be fixed if she wants to be part of the olympic team or even on the podium. Other than that, I thought her skating was excellent. I love the way she uses her hands.
I love You my Ashley darling

She is elegant. And she has a whole lot more in her.

At this point, in my opinion she is the strongest contender for the team.

People.. she got just as much chance as anyone.., I mean have you seen Sasha skate after she officialy said she is coming back??
She skated at Skate for the Hearth...And she skated a very bad program, and had a really rough fall. So you know in skating everything can happen...
I wish them good luck. Sasha is my favorite so I want her to win of course, but I'm really not so sure about that now.

Beautiful! I particularly love the dress, and love the new layback move in the step sequence (I would fall on my head!)

And now that I think about it, only a 24 for PCS! I guess it's the music choice... The judges will like it eventually...

I can't believe her lutz was downgraded...edge call, yes, but the rotation was there!

Uh, that's why I said, "edge call, YES."
I was talking about the rotation.

aside from the fact she's doing two flips in this program, she looks good
