@DudleyScardsdale The other Albert (Collins), who I think was the best who ever lived, didn't use a pick either. Have no idea how anyone could do what he (and King) did without a pick, Jesus!
I know the hippies gave Albert King a lot of props but I just can't help but think that one of thoes hippies were thinking how does this 40 something year old black man play such cut throat blues but at the same time have such a young sound that I can't help but love. Some of these hippies didn't know what hit them, they thought only Jimi Hendrix or Eric Clapton could have that effect.
there would be NO eric clapton, SRV, gary moore, etc.............without the great ALBERT KING. he was bending strings when NO ONE had ever tried it , or experimented with it!!!
The God Of String Bending, When you hear this man play you don't wonder why Jimi Hendrex & SRV loved him so much. Albert king is a guiter player's GUITER PLAYER, he manhandles Lucy.
Albert King Is the reason why people pick up a Gibson Flying V, rather they wanna admit it or not. All hail The Three Kings Of Blues, Albert, B.B, & Freddie!
@pooiseng Boy, you said it! I'm from Egypt, and I was turned on to the Blues when I heard Stevie Ray Vaughan playing Texas Flood for the first time on the "100 greatest guitar solos of all time" collection! I went home, Picked up my guitar, and spent the next 12 months trying to do the texas shuffle, and have been hooked ever since!
this is so important and amazing to have this in a good quality document, I have worn out this album twice. and I do not intend to stop now. The finest.
Wait, so he's not only playing it upside down without re-stringing it, he's also not even using a pick?!

Featuring: Elvin Bishop, The Flock, Albert King, and Sha Na Na.
I thought Jon "Bowzer" Bauman was spliced in this video at 8:46.
