THAT IS THE SOFTEST BIKE IVE EVER SEEN.... Anyone check out that massive 70tooth sprocket LOL. No power when attacking that corner...lmao. Im not putting the idea down but it pretty much speaks for itself. Though on a side note that would be pretty bad ass to have around for some urban sessions through the city (aka stairs banks loading docks etc)
I'd like to see that thing take on a set of whoops. I get what they're trying to do, but the motocross community isn't going to buy it. Getting people just to switch to the 4-Strokes was a challenge. I do think that ZachAtk1 has a point with using them in urban areas, but I don't think the two can be compared, and electric can't replace motors in motocross. They're more like electric mountain bikes.
Pollution freaks are going to ruin everything with shit like this. Electric scooters, okay.... but dirt bikes? Come on. It looks piss slow on the track and one of the best things about racing MX is the sounds and smell....
@chevypower1930 Pollution freaks? You mean people who want something different? How is this ruining anything? I'm thinking about getting one, But I also got something you don't, a old beefed up 550 HP Ford V8 Truck, That probably pumps out more emissions per second then your damn Monte Carlo or Corrola does in a year. This will never replace gas fired Bikes, Its a alternative option you fucking narrow minded moron
@14omega28ok I drive a "V8" 2003 Cobra putting down more then 500 to the wheels... I don't know what you're trying to accomplish talking about you're fucking "beefed up" piece of shit.
@chevypower1930 LOL pollution freak, Why not get a real car worth driving? Instead of that choked out piece of computerized shit. If you're going to get a Mustang get a real Mustang Until then I'm done with this Argument. If the truck wasn't enough then maybe my Camaro.
@chevypower1930 First off why the fuck is your name Chevypower if you drive a damn Cobra? Makes absolutely no sense. 2nd off No, If you're going to drive a car put your money into something worth owning. Everyone owns modern mustang everybody feels like they're some hot shit.
@14omega28ok Obviously aren't sure what an 03/04 Terminator Cobra is..... You don't see an 03/04 Cobra driving around much.... And my name is chevypower because this name is about 7 years old and I used to own a chevy truck.
wtf? no noise no fun... no sweet scent of gas or burning regular gas? fuck that. i thought 4 stroke was a joke but now electric?!?!?! have fun on the track against my gasoline operated CR125
I think its impossible to be able to ride an electric dirt bike and look bad ass. Electric dirt bikes are lame. I really hope they don't end up taking over 2 strokes and 4 strokes :/
I've ridden one of these. They're decent but the best part is you could host an MX race in the middle of NYC without anyone knowing from a block away. I say keep our 2 strokes (and 4 bangers) for the country, bring these to the cities and set up tracks in public parks. It would be a great way to expand the riding community.
@YFZriderdude15 Total cost of ownership is *far* lower than petrol. Fuel is only a small part of it. There are no service costs with these, they simply never wear out. Compare that with a piston every 20 hours and a crank rebuilt every 40 for a petrol bike.
@gasdive actually, u do have a point. Ive never thought about that. But honestly, id still rather pay the extra cash for maintenance for the gas powered bike. 2 hours riding time just wont do. i can always refill my 2 stroke or 4 stroke.
@mannexx111 Austrian crap actually. Still it could be worse. Japanese MX bikes have even more frequent service intervals. I'm not familiar with any Chinese made MX bikes, perhaps you can enlighten us?
@mannexx111 I had a look at your channel to see what you ride compared to my Austrian crap KTM200EXC. You ride an ATV from a junkyard that you made the parts for yourself to get running. Ummm.... I need to say this politely because you play with guns and who knows what you're like... We're comparing new race bikes here. I can't see you ever buying a new motorcycle let alone a race bike. Your opinon isn't really all that relevant.
Living in Belgium! Electric dirtbikes will shut up all those nice neighbours that call the police every time i even start my 2-stroke and we might get some more tracks opening up without the lovely noice of 2 and 4 strokes, delivering the new Stefan Everts!
The funny thing is, this is the future of dirt biking really.. Gas won't last forever and just because they are kinda shit now doesn't mean they won't be really good later on.. although, nothing really can replace a good ol dirt bike :(
@Sidleyhatesyou hopefully none of us will be alive to see that...our kids will be riding electric db's....o well guess theyll have to put some playing cards in the spokes or soda cans to get a real sound out of them haha
what sucks about this is from the second u go, it starts to lose power meaning ur fun gets less by the minute, its like blowing ur engine in one day - no fun
BAHAHAHAHAHHAHA, I was considering the idea of getting one.. they would be great for ridng down to my pond without pissing off my neighbors.. and the seem to ride pretty well.. Then I saw the price tag of $10,000! LMAO, Zero, if you EVER think we would buy one of these at $10k (which I could LITERALLY buy a 500af and smoke these PoS's with).. then you're out of your minds.
@iHeartKawasaki When you include the cost of service the total cost of owning my Zero is 1/3 the cost of my KTM200EXC. The new batteries last 3 times longer and make the Zero even cheaper in comparison. Anyway, a 500AF is over 2000 dollars more to buy. It's an awsome bike, but many times more expensive...
comparing an electric motor to a gas motor is like comparing an ape with a human to see which one is stronger. the torque from an electric motor is incomparable, because of the maximum and instant torque electric motors can produce. the electric motor they are using in the dirt bike is quiet weak compared to newer electric motors, and with newer motors and batteries being developed, the gas motor will continue to fall under the electric motor
this thing cost more than any brand new 450 or 250 you guys seriously need to re think the price of this bike no ones going to buy this thing at what ur trying to sell it needs to come way way down before anyone even thinks about buying one
It has an electronic cutoff when it's about 75% depleted in order to protect the battery, as no type of battery (other than possibly nickel cadmium) lasts very long when fully discharged over and over. So yes, the performance stays constant until it runs out, at which point it's out. There may be a reserve "limp mode" for getting home in case you overestimated range (lots of electric cars have this) but at some point it'll simply cut off.
that was the stupidest fucking bike i have ever seen in my entire life its slow as shit and probably cost twice as much as a brand new 250f hell no FUCK THAT gimme a real bike
Was that the peewee track? Seriously this is a joke, I know kids on 50s that could easily make everything on that track and kids on 65s and 85s that could ruin that zero
@slipknotkrazzy first of all its not 10 mint run time its well over an hour around 2 i think for now gas is better yes but this is new give it time but i know electric will eventually consume gas look at nitro rc cars and trucks i know its small scale but electric is far better in all ways in the rc world and same will happen in big scale
At £7500 it is nearly twice the price of a yz125 here in the uk.........that a lot of petrol and oil and i love the trees as much as the next man but these things need to get a lot better , faster , durable before the average Joe like me is gonna buy 1 .....maybe in a decade or so if the oil hasn't run out by then!!!
@66mcgrath Far more durable than a yz125. Look at the service costs of the yz and you'll find the zero is much cheaper over the life of the bike, roughly 1/3 the cost.
I road one of these things at a 24 hour race. we broke the frame. snapped 2 rear shocks. ruined two sets of wheels, basically had to replace everything other than the motor. and the battery only lasted 15 minutes riding hard. the concept is cool but the instant torque out of the turns was hard to control. and down the strait away only had the power to clear maybe a 20 ft double. i will definately stick to my good old rmz 250
Apparently no one teaches kids about electric motors any more. Did you all miss out on "near maximum torque at zero RPM" aspect of electric motors? You also seem to have missed out on the fact that electric drive makes 2WD possible. Anyone else imagining programmable engine braking profiles? Traction control? Motor swaps done in 15 minutes in your own garage? Considering that racing is 80% rider and 20% bike a lot of you spend a lot of time obsessing over what goes on inside the engine :\
@ExperienceCounts2 80% rider and 20% bike...........what text book did you get this from? Engine management and traction control are readily available on motorcycles these days, granted engine braking is not variable on an internal combustion engine but have you ever heard of a slipper clutch, 2wd on a bike has been trialled in various formats in the past, chain or hydraulically driven, and has proved not to be an advantage. good idea but not ready yet. 15 min battery life, a GP is 45 mins long!
@66mcgrath I got it from "The Big Book of 13 Years of Motocross with 3 Years in Pro Class". You know, the chapter where Roger DeCoster utters those words, as do Rolf Tibblin, Gerrit Wolsink, Tony DiStefano, Super Hunky and anyone who spent enough time in the saddle to see it. There's a true story about DeCoster's riding clinic at Mid-Ohio MX. A rider kept blaming it on stock DT250. DeCoster got tired of the whining and use that bike to a lap within 3 seconds of his best lap time.
@ExperienceCounts2 Yeah engine swaps being done in 15 minutes. That's cool and all if I want to pay triple what I would for a normal engine. Face it. Nobody wants one of these pieces of shit. Everyone wants to smell the 2 stroke and hear 4 strokes blaring through the woods. I know I do.
@Bl0OdYShAdOw The whole engine on one of these costs less than a major service on my KTM200. How can you possibly say that the engine cost is triple??? You're just making stuff up.
first they killed the air cooled with the liquid cooled then they killed the 2 stroke with the four stroke now their killing motocross with electric bikes wtf whats the first part of motocross (moto) meaning motor. whats next bikes without wheels?

@Bl0OdYShAdOw
Not me. I am someone. Therefore, not everyone wants what you do. To me, this is plainly superior.
Zamboro 9 months ago
@Bl0OdYShAdOw The whole engine on one of these costs less than a major service on my KTM200. How can you possibly say that the engine cost is triple??? You're just making stuff up.
