But this was a header from Pele.

Pele was a 100 times better than the whole Sheffield team in that match.

Also this save was physically impossible.

Most over-rated save ever. Fantastic to be sure but the way people talk about it now you would think Banks had launched himself from the near to far post to make the save. Any goalie who tells the English this is the best save ever is lying to be nice. I saw Phil Thompson, a defender, make a better save for Liverpool when Grobelaar was out wandering

best player or not, it does x mean dat it was an unstoppable header. pele didnt get famous 4 his headers. even if it changed course, it didn't changed much n gordon was moving in d direction of d ball. unless if d ball was headed 2 his left when he was moving right then u can say so. search utube n u cn find many bouncing headers saved-including peter's.

its 2 small a context. as long as the ball is in d direction u r heading, best team or not, hard pitch or not (btw, hw u knw it was rock-hard? as long as thr is grass, its as gud as ur school's pitch), it wuld still b a nice save-but x d best. it luks amazing from here but if u hv a cam behind banks, its a diff story. pele mayb d best but he isnt d best in headers. that cross 2 is x uncommon even among non-famous clubs.

Casillas made some good reflex saves in that game (as shown on YouTube), but you watch the slo mo. They're all hit at him & without much power (the second save was from a side foot).

Banks' save was from a powerful head (look at Pele pull his head back & unload that ball!). Also, the ball was boucing up off the ground as Bank was diving ... that's what makes this save the BEST EVER!

no doubt, great save, but nothing special at all...the ball really don't have speed and also losing speed while droped on the ground...look at Kahn, Gigi Buffon and the best keeper ever, lew jaschin--->the black panther...they saved shots like this every day!!! the most people say when the ball is touching the ground, thats the hardest balls for gk, long range, yes, close range and head shot like this? no!! ball lose to much speed, mostly!!!
