I was eleven. My dad was basically like "when this happens to the guy you do this, this is how, there ya go." Then he talked about how there's like rapists and all. So I was more scared than anything. The rest and the details came through other sources (mostly Internet and friends.) I basically didn't know (or at least understand) everything until I was around sixteen. I wish my parents would have talked about and explained more.

I never got the talk, just learned about it from school and my friends. I'm only fourteen, but I'm a good kid and would never do anything bad or risky. I disagree with the continual talk idea; if my mom did that I would be scared to deeply discuss anything with her. I will be forever grateful that I did not receive the talk because it would have made a significantly awkward mark in my relationship with my mom.

What parents need to do is not tell you that it's wrong or not ever to do it, because that's just not ok, and it makes the teen not want to talk to the parent about it and after losing their virginity, which is just dangerous to them in a lot of cases. parents need to be playing a role in their child's sex life if there is one. I know I would prefer my mom to help me (ex. With birth control, protection, relationship issues no matter what they may be, ect.) instead of making me face it alone

my mom never gave me the'sex' talk, lol i was at a sleepover and my friend ariannah was like" r u a virgin?" and im like" wtfff does that mean??" lol so thats how i got the sex talk, and my mom hired me to tell my little sister what sex was :O it was pretty awkward. :P

I started masturbating with 11, these people are wrong. had I been taught better that would never happened. I'm, not saying it's bad. I'm just saying that I would have preferred to have started rather later than early. it affected my development with girls, since I had another option. this made me very unsocial. parents. read this. yes. teach your kids early. they need it. also teach them about the opposite sex, etc. don't avoid it. it'll be bad for them later on their lives

my parents need to understand that i know when im ready im wait till married and im 13 but us kids/teens already know this stuff so their telling us stuff we already know its annoying i havent had the talk yet but i know i will have to deal with it soon i hate it that parents like when ever like a 13-14 age kid goes or watches a movie with a girl they think were doing something

My friend told me at 10, and I thought it was really gross :/ I'm 16 and I still think it is. I find that kind of a good thing though, at least with all of the teens getting pregnant now.....My parents never gave me the talk. It's just not a big deal in my house, I'm not that kind of person that my parents have to worry about that kind of thing.
