I am so impressed by your piece! I am currently a fine art student myself and have always worked with two dimensional mediums. I've only just taken one course dealing with three dimensional mediums, and it was so very different; not just the materials and process, but the way you have to think about the work. Your piece was so believable, that in the first frame you showed, I thought you had your wash hanging out there! I truly respect your ability to work with such tricky materials so well!
I searched for the top rated "World War 2" related video in YouTube, and this is it. Out of the probably tens of thousands of videos that have something to do with WW2, none are rated as high as this: 192 thumbs up, none down.
Hi Peter, as you love Art so much, have youevery been to Paris? A baeutiful City! I was ther then I was 10 and 13 BUT the best was when I was an Adult!! My Mum and I went to visit LUke in 2008!!!! We have such a great time! Are you up for it?
Thoroughly enjoyed your discourse on you art experience! The memorial to your wife imparts a very peaceful feeling, but a question. Are the markers for graves, and if so, whose?
Great videos! It was nice to hear about your art, and I am impressed to hear that you went back to do your art GCSE after such a long period of time of not being in education. Not many people go back into education after they've left it for so long. My Mum and I have tried to convince my Aunty to go to university but she to afraid that the younger students won't like that she's older. Jenny
Your probably one on the few remaining English people left in this country, thanks to our pathetic government and their retarded immigration polocy of just let everyone in.
By the way, my nan is same age as you, she was born 1927 but in September.
@joncobber i think you missed what the video was about... i dont remember him talking about immigration and who is and who isnt english, i highly doubt that if you traced your family tree back you would have came from this island. anyway im not one to start random arguements on youtube. have a nice day.
The sound was just fine for me Peter, I didn't have to turn it up too much to hear you =) Love the videos. I have watched your videos since day 1 and 200+ videos later I still love to watch them and hear your storys.
Dearest Peter, these wonderful glimpses you give us about your life are very much appreciated, as we have learnt to regard you as one of our family. Please continue!! Best regards from Italy, Giusi.
that was really interesting , just goes to show you it's never too late to do anything. Did you teach yourself how to use a computer or did you get thought by someone? My nanny is 74 & she always says she wouldn't know where to begin with it. I showed her how to use Skype & she talked to our family in America & she was amazed by it :)
That was really interesting and shows that it's never too late to develop your passions. I really like the sculpture and the quote. It would be great to see more of your art work, Peter.
You are so open minded and sensible. I think your work you showed here is very good, exciting and well thought out. I would love to see any other artwork you have produced, perhaps just a slide show would do. Thanks.
I can hear you okay on my pc, with no special speakers.
I love this! I can relate to it. I am taking part in a senior citizen art show this coming week. I don't have as much formal training in art as you do, but it is fun. I take classes in it every so often at my local community college.
Love the cardigan work! I also really like the photos behind you in the video. Looks like you have a camera w/ high def. We get to see you much better! It's been a long time since I've been here. Good to see you again! You live in such a beautiful environment. Until next time!
Love the area Peter love the country. Living in NYC I sometimes miss the quietness of the country. Too much noise here HA HA now if I could just find the volume and turn it down HA HA
That was just great. I enjoyed seeing your grass. I was reared in Ohio, which is in the North of the U.S. We had fine grass and all just like by your house. I have lived in Florida for the past 35 years, with very rough grass. I like walking in soft grass in my bare feet. My wife and I built a new house two years ago. There is a new Japanese grass that I, at great expense, put in around the house. It is very soft, fine, and reminds me of my childhood yard.
This was a grand tale, thanks for sharing it. Were you not a bit nervous, working with lead? It is an amazing sculpture, but what made you choose lead as your medium? Also, don't you reckon you might just paint the lines back onto the sheet? They are so apropos to the installation, and if you attributed them, someone else might be inspired to read that book as well. It's always lovely when discovery seems totally serendipitous. Just a thought. I'm looking forward to your next vid, as always.
I think your voice volume is just fine!.I can hear you very well.Your a very interesting man and I highly respect you. My mother was from South Wales UK and my Father met her in London when he was in the Army in WW2. I love hearing all about this. Thank you so much for sharing. Hilda
Lovely stuff mate! Lead is a material I have an affinity with--I used to cast my own fishing ledgers with it. The 'coffin' was my favourite, I recall...
Very nice Peter. What a lovely tribute to your wife. I continue to be glad that you share your stories and hope that you keep doing this for a long while.
Your wife will live in your heart forever. Your story is moving and inspirational.
I wish you the best my friend.
My dad was a pilot in WWII and it was about the only time I'd see him cry as most in his squadron were shot down.
You sure are right about the intellectual stimulation at the university level. I need to learn to paint and draw. I took art at U of A. I never knew how much I liked it till them-especially impressionism. God bless you,
I hope you will do more videos about your art. You've privately shared some of your art in video with me and I found it fascinating and I'm sure others would love to see and hear more about it. Please do more art videos, pretty please? With sugar on top?
Long time subscriber, first time commenter. Was just curious about your thoughts on the Swingin '60s. Especially London in those times, to me it seems like a simpler time were people were having more fun and were not so self centered or shallow as many have become today. I know you are into Blues, but perhaps you also have a weak spot for psychedelic pop and rock? :)
Loved the video, as well as the artwork. Would be thoroughly delighted if I were walking along a country rode and came upon such an inviting and interesting grotto! You're an interesting man. Thanks for sharing.
i have been a subscriber to your channel ever since you first got exposure on youtube peter, and i just wanted to say that it's always comforting to watch your videos. as a young englishman, i can always find something charming and quintessential about your posts - not sure if you'll like that or not, but just thought i'd say it at any rate! i hope you continue to give updates on happenings in your life for as long as possible
I love your lead sculpture, Peter, and it must give much pause for thought to the ramblers who rest on your bench. You are so lucky to live in that beautiful setting. Where I live such an object would not last 24 hours before getting nicked. The metal thieves are about all the time.
Another wonderful, wonderful, very interesting story, Peter. I loved the beginning with the birds singing in the background and that beautiful snippet of the countryside in which you live. You are very blessed to live in such a beautiful, serene part of the world.
Wow Peter - that's fascinating. First of all, I thought that the jacket was a real one, just dipped into something to harden it. I love that you made it from metal. It's wonderful. At first glance, one would think that a hiker just removed their jacket in the heat and walked off without it. I didn't know you'd gone back to school full time after retirement. A wonderful opportunity and clearly one in which you excelled. Thank you for the story.
@laura43fun might want to check your volume controls in case something got lowered as I just listened on my laptop (Using headphones to keep wife happy HA HA) and the volume was fine. So you might want to check your volume control panel as sometimes something will bump the volume down without you even knowing it as I have had that happen to me in the past. Might be a specific volume and not just the master volume.
I"ve just recently found your channel and am facinated by it. You are a great storyteller and an interesting man. Thank you for sharing this story, quite unique and even more so, heartwarming.
