@0917gva not just motown, others like stax were good. and the four tops had some very great hits after motown, like keeper of the castle, are you man enough...
@drummerboy14T Of course there were others; that would be a given. I was commenting on the talent of a specific group at a specific point in time and, it was not at the exclusion of any other great groups or any songs that followed. I was commenting on their Motown sound as this is a Motown song.
For those of you who love Motown, type up "Northern Soul" in the searchbar. It's a genre dedicated to the more obscure and hard to find soul from the 60s; tunes that never made the top 40 due to a lack of "pop appeal". In turn, these tracks became massively popular in the clubs and dancehalls of Northern England, shortly after the demise of the Mod movement. It gave these neglected artists a chance to shine in front of fans who truly appreciated their music.
@ArthurAllblack True, 'Old Soul' went out of favour as funk and then disco came in. I remember playing 'Girls Are Out To Get You' at a US base when a black GI came over and told me that wasn't the music they wanted to hear anymore. There were those of us in the South that appreciated this music (and the more obscure tracks) long before the term 'Northern Soul' was coined. However the Northern movement did much to ressurect/prolong the careers of many great soul artists.
i love this song!i wish someone could find is there anything that i can do another one from the second album written by living legend smokey robinson!

Motown rules. This is pure perfection. The song is included on their "Second album", which is for me the best LP in history of pop, rock & r&b music.
