How much did Toyota pay them to make them #1???? Should have been the Sonota.... looks a hell of a lot better and more powerful... They got the nissan right though... hate it!
What a joke. In at least 4 other reviews, including Motorweek's the Sonata was number 1 with the Camry a distant 3rd or more. I wonder how it is that these guys could get it so wrong.
Thats funny legacy got placed 5th cus its was small inside and they didn't like the styling. I guess if you like the styling inside and out then you can pretty much discard this video lol. Also so saw another video were it stated that the legacy had more inside cubic room then the camry...
Its funny because when you compare a car like Camry/Fusion to Sonata, it just blows it out of the water. Best fuel economy, more hp, better interior, better exterior. This is from a loyal nissan person. Hyundai has really stepped up its game.
Wonder how much Ford and Toyota paid for this advertisement. I own a Nissan Altima 2008, but there is no way Fusion or Camry both bland looking is better than Accord Altima or IMO the best car Hyundai Sonata
I'm just saying what I think how the oder should have been I'm not saying the Altima should be in first just because I have one, but I chose it for a reason for luxury, and performance and the Altima was the best choice yes a bit pricy but I love my Altima and it was totally worth it!! so I think they needs to re-do their facts.... =|
@skittleschocolate Well older Honda's are reliable new ones are crap. .My uncle has a 2006 Odyssey thats had a power steering pump failure at 70k miles and suspension problems when it was new. My aunt has a 2010 Odyssey since new and it had the infamous torque converter shuddering problem and a bad power steering pump both at 10k miles. My 1994 Camry has 300k miles on it with original engine and transmission and runs great. New Toyotas are even more well built and drives better then Honda's
i beg to differ. my family was all about toyota/lexus. my mother bought a lexus lx 470 in 2003, and the ac failed. my father spent 40000 on a 2009 avilon, the car eats tires, the doors are loose, the washer fluid resivwor needs to be replaced annually, my sister, and myself have an 09 accord. (me, ex sedan, her, lx-s coupe) and love them. my mother just got the cross tour in place of the lx.
anyway. i'm just going to say something. regardless of which is better. both definitely have flaws. but in different ways. what we should be doing is bashing ford and gm... lol
@skittleschocolate LOL Both Honda and Toyota are good in their own different way but every brand no matter how good can have at least on defect model though that's not the case for Ford, Chrysler or Chevy who's whole lineup is a defect LOL
Toyota Camry in America have a different model with the Asia one. I see this model is very suck. But in Asia,Camry come with a very luxurious styling. That's why it can become best seller in Asia not America
@crashjstest I understand what you are saying, but I still believe that the accord looks fairly new due to its modern styling and as for the camry, its style may be "timeless" but it is still getting old and dull.
@CrashJSTest I disagree. And no, I was not saying that because my favorite car didn't win, but because they have no real logic behind their reasons. They praised the Subaru's features and fuel economy yet placed it 5th because of its look? The same goes for the Accord. I personally prefer Edmunds and KBB which is why I will no longer watch an MT videos.
LOL, just because you didn't "LIKE" the Subaru, you picked it as 4th? How about this I don't give a fuck what you say because I don't like you. So try to be likable next time instead of trying to be objective. Ah! also, it would be good to find some fake reasons to defame what you didn't like as well. This time no one could say that you are biased.
I have never been able to trust MotorTrend reviews, their car of the year is bought almost every single year and everyone knows it, Automobile and Car and Driver are much better. But if you ask me the Sonata should have came first with the accord and fusion afterward.
Ok so I have a 2011 camry... pros: rides well, lot of space, decent fuel economy. cons: transmission is slow clunky and jerky and brakes the are half way junk.
but the best feature of the camry is that its so good and theres so many people on the road who bought it, your practically invisible to everyone else...
This is Obviously a JOKE! Take the oldest Design and the car with the most problems and the worst cabin materials and call it a WINNER? This to me is NOTHING but a PLUG because someone feels bad for TOYOTA. In an unbias opinion the winner hands down should of been the Sonata. Nothing was even mentioned about Affordability and the best MPG and the best POWER and the LONGEST WARRANTY THese are things to consider also in the best family sedan. LANE REVIEW AND RESULTS!
haha that comparison sucked, the subaru should be way closer to #1, it is a much more elegant feeling car than most of those, i get 31 mph in mine, and the price is great too, they were obviously paid by toyota
Dam this guy is the worst reviewer, get a new job. As for the vehicles Malibu has nice exterior styling, Accord and Altima are also nice but boring, Camry is a snooze, the only cars I really love here are the Fusion and Sonata. That's saying allot because I used to hate ford. I recently drove a Fusion and I loved everything about it, such a smooth quiet ride and so stylish! Now I have to test drive another one of my fav's the Sonata. I hope the Fusion's reliability holds up. Cheers!
still from the selling # point of view and reliability : 1. Camry , 2. Accord, 3. Altima, and the rest are the same (sucks). I believe the reviewer got paid by TOYOTA who loose its credit from tons of recalls. CAMRY = floaty / boat
@CrashJSTest In terms of driving yes, they are fun.
In terms of everything else? there are more interesting cars out there :|
Subaru's new lineup is getting uninteresting (apart from the Impreza WRX and STi variant and their version of the FT-86).
370z is an exception since it is a sports car but even that is getting old. The rest? well they're just decent although most of Infiniti's lineup are grabbing my interest but Infiniti can be considered a different car maker.
Honestly All the Japanese (Honda, Toyota, Subaru and Nissan) are quite decent cars but decency is not enough these days. They're quite dull (apart for the Honda Accord).
If the Chevrolet Malibu were a person, it would be a nobody.
The Hyundai and the Ford are the only cars that were both above decent and interesting at the same time. The styling both inside and out are quite good. If you like simple but eye catching styling go Ford. If you like edgy and daring, go Hyundai.
wait for the 2013 Malibu coming next year. Takes all the good stuff and keeps it, then makes it bigger, smoother, quieter, more powerful, and a camry, accord, fusion.... killer!!! And anyone who is thinking about writting... "oh god gm sucks blah blah blah, they took a bailout" Just remember that the loan is paid, the Government is making money on selling off their stocks and the new GM is NOT THE SAME COMPANY AT ALL!!! GO CHEVY!
how did the nissan not win anything? i thought its faster to 0-60 than all the cars in this comparison, except for the Subaru. Plus nissan handles way better than all of them. stupid review...
@BklynJayL so you think the camry, fusion, accord, malibu, and sonata handles better than the altima. The only car that handles better than the altima in the mid size category is the mazda 6. In the slalom, the altima has the fastest speed. It's been tested that the Altima is faster from 0-60 because its lighter than all of them and the CVT brings out more power for the car. right now, i really think the best cars in the mid size category is the new Kia Optima, Nissan Altima, and the Mazda 6.
@v1per808 Well..., you have a point by saying with, the Mazda6. That's the reason why, they don't include the Mazda6 in most comparisons because, they know, it's going to win. Now, with the N. Altima..., I'd say, it's the best handling car out of the bunch, also...but, not the quickest! Remember..., not of these cars are the "top of the line" versions. If they would've been..., Ford would've involved it's Sport version of the Fusion...in which, would've made it VERY hard for the others!
@BklynJayL Mazda 6 wouldnt win because it has the weakest engine and is actually one of the slowest in the mid size class. The only thing Mazda 6 exceeds in is the handling, nothing else. And idk if the 2.5 is faster, but i know the 3.5 V-6 altima is the fastest compare to these cars being tested here. Its lighter and the Nissan's V-6 was named as one of the best V-6 ever built. As of right now, i think the 2011 Kia Optima is the best mid size sedans out there.
@v1per808 The "top of the line" Mazda6 does 0-60 only in 6.4 secs....so, I'm pretty sure, it's faster than, most sedans in this comparison here. Those times will give the 3.5 Altima a good run for it's money! I can admit to Nissan building one of the greatest V6s...but, you can sleep on Ford V6s, now. The new V6 'Stang produces over 330hp. naturally and, respectfully! As far as, Kia having the best mid-size sadan..., not too sure about that. What about the VW. Passat or, Mitsu. Gallant?
@BklynJayL I doubt it can go 6.4. It's the least powerful V-6. Also Mustangs are not mid-size. I'm talking about the V-6 in mid-sized sedans. But if you want to talk about mustangs V-6, its still not as good as the Nissan's Z or the Infiniti's V-6. VW and the Mistsu are just not up to it. The VW might be more luxurious and has a Turbo in it, but it doesn't look fancy and VW hasn't lived up to its name; it had many problems. with the money, i rather buy a BMW or an Audi A4.
@v1per808 I just want to remind you that though Nissan's V-6 does produce more power than Ford's V-6, it's a LOT rougher and noisier (in a bad way). Almost everyone criticizes the 370Z for horrible noise and ride quality, a lot due to the rough engine. The Infiniti G37 and M37 are a little better, but not much. Ford may not have pushed their's to reach similar output, but at least it's a lot smoother
@v1per808 Well..., I'm not a VW fan...so, I can probably agree with you on that...but, from what consumer reports states..., VW is a VERY reliable brand! Not too sure about Mitsu. tho'.. As far as, the new Ford V6 vs, Niss. and, Infiniti's V6. I can admit. They're slightly faster than, Ford's new V6...but, out of all other V6s...I'd say, Ford will probably give them their best challenge(besides GM's V6s)! Can't forget about BMW, Benz, Audi and, Hyundai V6s(Genesis). They're very fast, too!
@BklynJayL I think they will make it when completion forces them to. Look at the camaro and mustang for example. Chevy did it first and basically forced Ford to redo the engine for the v6 and the v8. When the Mid size sedans follow suit with the altimas price range, u can expect it.
@v1per808 Probably the interior quality. Actually, the Nissan DID in fact have the most quiet ride of all the cars here; I think it's just starting to get a bit long in the tooth. There's nothing really fancy like Ford SYNC or Hyundai's great I-4. The Camry definitely shouldn't have won, and I think the Nissan should have been higher, but it's still not good enough to take first place.
@WayfstrthnU i actually agree with you about the Ford SYNC. I actually like that system. Hyundai, to me its just not as sporty enough. Im a sports car enthusiast and I actually own a 2010 Nissan Altima. I tested mostly every car in the market and Nissan was my favorite. Yea i agree the V-6 is rougher and noisier in the Nissan, but I actually like it. lol. But overall i think it should be top 3. Toyota on the other hand should be the least favorite.
@pattycarljackson Well..., the Hyundai is a very nice car...but, I don't think, it should be first, in this group. Also..., there's plenty other sedans, out there that, haven't been included in this test...like, the Mitsu. Gallant, Mazda 6, VW Passat. ;-)
all of those cars with the exception of subaru are for dull people who hate driving. i would much prefer the new audi s4 with supercharged v6 and quattro 4wd.
there is nothing great about the camry, the interior is made for senoir citizens, and the exterior is so boring. I'd give the winner to the sonata or fusion. Toyota is so overrated, most recalls, and kills 9 ppl, great machine my ass
@bfagay1 No actually the sonata won in all the road performance test but this old guy likes the camry because its simple and plain i guess he likes boring cars LOL
@clunkerboy1 Nobody is crying im just stating facts and the fact is hyundai won in all the road performance test so i guess your the one crying LOL but toyota did win in RECALLS because toyota has more recalls then domestic cars LMAO so when can i drive a car made from the phillipines >? Does the phillipines make cars or do u guys just ride bicycles all day 0-o ......HAhahaha
Look at the best mid size sedans in America. The all make me laugh. The camry is the best selling there because all the indians, chinese, asian people in USA buy the toyota. Slaves you need to come in the civilized world to see the real sedans
@bfagay1 Atleast i can go back to korea and live good with high technology and good living standards. When you go back to our third world country u have to drive a bicycle for 5 days just to go buy food LOL
@bfagay1 Less than a year after it was tarnished by reports of runaway cars, the automaker recalled 1.5 million more vehicles. Toyota has now recalled more than 11 million cars and trucks around the world over the past year for problems including faulty gas pedals, floor mats that can trap accelerators, braking problems and stalling engines. LMAO in less then 1 year they have more then 11 million RECALLS LMAOOOOO Drive a Toyiota and kill yourself
@bfagay1 Well actually the sonata won in every road performance test vs the accord and camry but this old guy like the interior of the older sonata which is his own opinion but in "Performance" vs the camry and accord the sonata was the best . This guy is old as dirt and he like the camry because it was plain and simple so i guess the camry is for old people that like to play bingo and go grocery shopping LOL
This guy is retarded the sonata won in all the test numbers The sonata won in every road performance test vs accord and camry but this old idiot likes the interior of the older generation sonata WTF ???? The interior in the new sonata is way better i dont know wht kind of drugs this guy is on hes a weirdo but o well the sonata still beat all the other cars where it counts the most and won all the performance test
@globalk100 The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) report at safercar.gov identifies the issue says "the steering column intermediate shaft universal joint connections may have been either improperly assembled or insufficiently tightened." The consequence could be "a complete separation or compromised attachment of the connections, such that the driver could experience a loss of, or reduction in, steering capability increasing the risk of a crash."
@globalk100 The recall affects MY 2011 Hyundai Sonata sedans built between December 11, 2009 and September 10, 2010. Dealers should begin sending out recall notices in October. They will inspect and re-torque the assembly, and update the steering software too, at no charge.
I purchased a 2011 sonata hyundai and have been told there is a recall because of the steering problem, The dealer is in Santa Barbara however they have been closed down. No one at this time that is still connected therecan help me. Is Hyundai going to franchise a dealership in my town?
@globalk100 Kia Motors Corp., an affiliate of Hyundai Motor, this month said Jeong Sung Eun resigned as vice chairman to take responsibility for the recent recall of four models. Kia began recalling about 104,000 cars worldwide earlier this month because of a wiring problem that can cause fires.
@trinoma88 Thats what should happen if your a respectable person and you take responsibility for procducing unsafe cars then you should get fired or leave before you get fired . Unlike toyota which is why they keep producing "RECALL" vehicles and guess what Toyota is now king of RECALLS dont believe me? look at the stats for their record breaking recalls there ahead of Government Motors in poor quality cars and thats why toyota is #1 in RECALLS
@globalk100 Hyundai Motor's recall of its flagship Sonata sedan in the U.S. has triggered fears of eroding quality at Korea's largest carmaker. The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said on Sunday that 139,500 Sonatas of model year 2011 manufactured at Hyundai's Alabama plant between Dec. 11, 2009 and Sept. 10, 2010 would be recalled. The recall affects nearly every Sonata sold in the U.S. during that period
@globalk100 The recall could worsen if more quality issues emerge. Problems with the door-lock mechanism surfaced when the revamped Sonata first hit U.S. showrooms in February, but a quick recall of affected models prevented the issue from escalating. But the latest recall involves a much larger number of vehicles, sparking more concerns over quality.
@trinoma88 Thats a simple door lock issue that happens when u hold down the lock button it has nothing to do with performance or safety of a car . Look at Toyotas safety recalls ots record breaking there even worst then the domestic junks LMAO
@globalk100 problems in maintaining quality," said Kim Ki-chan, professor of automotive industry economics at the Catholic University of Korea. "If quality deteriorates, Hyundai could have a serious crisis on its hands."
@globalk100 An investigation has been launched in the U.S. into alleged defects with the Hyundai Sonata sedan after the Kia Soul multipurpose car. Following two consumers' complaints over the Sonata's steering wheel, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration opened an investigation into the Hyundai vehicle on Tuesday.
@trinoma88 But Toyota spends more money on recalls then they do actually making good cars i guess thats why the celica was a faliure and the solara was ugly as shit. Toyota makes ugly lookin poor quality cars if u dont believe me just look at the stats for recalls and u have to be blind to want to drive an ugly toyota car ,
I know exactly how they are. I will NEVER own a hyundai again. They tried to keep us quiet by taking the car back. They brushed it off like it was nothing important. They were notified about this in March, and all of the sudden they want people to believe that they are concerned and are issuing a recall on their own...NOT! NHTSA was questioning them because of the video and complaints being reported. Of course they will comply. NHTSA can shut them down. They didn't have a choice.
@globalk100 WHY DID HYUNDAI BOUGHT BACK THE DEFECTIVE CAR POSTED ON YOUTUBE ? TO SILENCE AND KEEP QUIET ABOUT THEIR DEFECT? HAHAHA
YOU SAY HYUNDAI VOLUNTARILY CALL FOR RECALL IS A BULLSHIT COZ THE OWNER SAYS SO. HYUNDAI TRIED TO HIDE THE PROBLEM AND CANNOT FIX THE CAR THATS WHY THEY BOUGHT IT BACK. UR A STUPID LIAR
In the world of automobile there are names that stay on the top. There are names that take the lead not only in one generation but for several generations and counting. They are simply undisputable with the quality of cars that they produce and sell.
Success in the auto industry is measured through results of sale. If there is a high sale then it means the name of the car has gained the trust of people. Some people stick to what they have tried before; others try the ones that are being talked about for the great performance and quality.
The camry is the laziest on the road, the interior is just plain, it looks bland from the outside.. The only good thing about this car is. That is quiet n reliable.. That's all
Just like the accord n altima
The accord to me should be #2 or 1 bc it has all of the camry plus is agile better llokin interior n fun to drive even the altima or sonata
Now I remeber why I Like the Cmary the best. But when I get a new car for collage, It will probably be a Chevy Cruze, maybe a Malibu or Camry. Which ever drives best I guess! Ha!
I love the Camry. But the best midsizer is the Malibu I will have to say. Best looking, best interior, and best reliability I say. Oh yeah, and second best warranty!
wow hyundai was number 1 in all the numbers and its only 3rd? yes it has a some faults.. but so do the other cars.. I guess numbers dont mean anything these days. When did hill billys start liking japanese cars? Wheres all that buy only domestics attitude or you are not patriot shit? ill take the hyundai and fusion thanks
Best sellling doesn't mean the best. If you would actually test drive both you would see the Fusion is a better car. Camry's only sell more because Toyota was giving them away. Ford has been rated higher in quality then Honda or Toyota, so what do you prefer quanity or quality? Toyotas are just dull cars, period. GM and Ford are on their way back.

funny how motor trend named the ford fusion the car of the year in 2010. no cars were updated since and suddenly oh the bland toyota camry is best. hmm i smell foul play
This guy is obviously biased towards Toyota......theres Nooooo way Camry should be number 1 especially with such a CHEAP interior (I know because i bought one when there wasnt this much competition) ...who cares how many it sells
yeah and the ford f series is on top. followed by a silverado. check reliability ratings the ford fusion is more reliable than a camry or accord. check the top selling brands ford is on top get over it toyota sucks
ford is number 1 dumbass the only recall on the silverado there was, was the 2009 models for a fire hazard which resulted in no fatalities like the toyota recalls. im 20 years old not 14 toyota is number 3 in year to date sales behind chevy and ford this test is the opinion of a single person with family sedans you have to draw your own conclusions what this single editor likes in a car is more than likely not going to be what another person likes in a car.
Toyota Camry is an American favourite. With its status as an American-made car, the Camry could even be called an American icon. Inarguably.July 2010, the Toyota Camry is easily America's best-selling car.
Quite simply, the toyota camry is the best family sedan on the market, which it has been for years. If you want a sports sedan, buy a bmw or infiniti.
The new camry's are shit! The interior quality is horrible. So why is it first? The sonata and fusion have the best quality and reliability in the mid size class. Sonata should have been first, then fusion. I can't stand the others.
@AccidentallyFunny There is a very similar comparison of 8 family sedans that does include the Mazda6 on youtube. Look up "$25,000 Family Sedan Shootout"
i dont understand how camry is the first place.... the style is pretty outdated i think, the last time they redesigned is what.. 2007-08.... Id say Hyundai shouldve came first more comfortable etc....
Hey cladimere, speakin' of bias; how long you been with Toyota Corp? C'mon the Camry is beige on beige boring. The Accord offers the more spirited experience but since I live where it rains & snows, I would still take the Subie (or Audi or Merc) & AWD
Are you kidding?? Hyundai 3rd?? and Toyota frist??? I seriously think Toyota is paying these guys because there is NO WAY that the Camry can win this comparison especially w/ the quality issues and gas petal issues...... The Sonata won this comparison hands down i dont care what this guys says.
@DJEddieXZ Wow, you are truly ignorant. DO you think that Toyota would provoke a scandal that could forever tarnish their prestigious name? Frank clearly explained what was wrong with the Sonata. If you have no friends and family that you don't mind about the rear seat headroom, then that's fine with me. As far as the pedal issues go, Toyota American has gotten the situation securely under control.
@cladimere Accualy, Your the ignorant one, You need to do your homework and watch the News about the Toyota scandle and also watch the Toyota episode of Total Recall on CNBC, My friends and family wouldnt have aproblem fitting in the Sonata b/c the head room isnt that bad, If you and your family want to waist your money on a screeming metal death trap, thats fine with me, Ill stick w/ the Koreans for now.
@DJEddieXZ No scandal here. The so called "scandals" have most likely been plotted by some American car marketers. Your spelling is bad in some places. Your last comment: "Ill stick w/ the Koreans for now" What's that supposed to mean? There are other Japanese car manufacturers too =P
@cladimere When I said that "Ill stick with the Koreans for now, I meant that I'll continue to buy Hyundai and Kia's, (Im a current 04 Kia Optima owner) and I love it, My car has never given me any problems, My next car might be a GMC Terrain, Kia Sorento, or the new Optima when it comes out. I also like the new Outlander. Getting back to the scandals, Toyota CEO Akio Toyoda even said that they knew they had problems with the cars that dated back to 2000, That doesnt scream scandal to you?

Motortrend made a smart decision by putting the Camry first. Toyota Camry is the best because of three reasons:
1. It has a Lexus derived smooth and very quiet ride.
2. Very lightly weighted easy to turn steering wheel. (Women advantage)
3. BULLET PROOF TOYOTA RELIABILITY AND QUILITY that no other cars here in this test can match.
No wonder the Camry is America's best selling family car.

5th: Chevy Malibu

I have never been able to trust MotorTrend reviews, their car of the year is bought almost every single year and everyone knows it, Automobile and Car and Driver are much better. But if you ask me the Sonata should have came first with the accord and fusion afterward.
Taureg96 7 months ago
Ok so I have a 2011 camry... pros: rides well, lot of space, decent fuel economy. cons: transmission is slow clunky and jerky and brakes the are half way junk.
kazmanX 8 months ago
but the best feature of the camry is that its so good and theres so many people on the road who bought it, your practically invisible to everyone else...
shobin05 8 months ago
This is Obviously a JOKE! Take the oldest Design and the car with the most problems and the worst cabin materials and call it a WINNER? This to me is NOTHING but a PLUG because someone feels bad for TOYOTA. In an unbias opinion the winner hands down should of been the Sonata. Nothing was even mentioned about Affordability and the best MPG and the best POWER and the LONGEST WARRANTY THese are things to consider also in the best family sedan. LANE REVIEW AND RESULTS!
gene978 8 months ago
haha that comparison sucked, the subaru should be way closer to #1, it is a much more elegant feeling car than most of those, i get 31 mph in mine, and the price is great too, they were obviously paid by toyota

OH and the Legacy is a solid vehicle with awd, but just boring and with awkward styling to boot! BTW props on the intro music, it's moving...
Jedrycha 8 months ago
Dam this guy is the worst reviewer, get a new job. As for the vehicles Malibu has nice exterior styling, Accord and Altima are also nice but boring, Camry is a snooze, the only cars I really love here are the Fusion and Sonata. That's saying allot because I used to hate ford. I recently drove a Fusion and I loved everything about it, such a smooth quiet ride and so stylish! Now I have to test drive another one of my fav's the Sonata. I hope the Fusion's reliability holds up. Cheers!
Jedrycha 8 months ago
still from the selling # point of view and reliability : 1. Camry , 2. Accord, 3. Altima, and the rest are the same (sucks). I believe the reviewer got paid by TOYOTA who loose its credit from tons of recalls. CAMRY = floaty / boat
rondhol 8 months ago
@CrashJSTest In terms of driving yes, they are fun.
In terms of everything else? there are more interesting cars out there :|
Subaru's new lineup is getting uninteresting (apart from the Impreza WRX and STi variant and their version of the FT-86).
370z is an exception since it is a sports car but even that is getting old. The rest? well they're just decent although most of Infiniti's lineup are grabbing my interest but Infiniti can be considered a different car maker.
Mitsubishi is dead :P

Honestly All the Japanese (Honda, Toyota, Subaru and Nissan) are quite decent cars but decency is not enough these days. They're quite dull (apart for the Honda Accord).
If the Chevrolet Malibu were a person, it would be a nobody.
The Hyundai and the Ford are the only cars that were both above decent and interesting at the same time. The styling both inside and out are quite good. If you like simple but eye catching styling go Ford. If you like edgy and daring, go Hyundai.

how did the nissan not win anything? i thought its faster to 0-60 than all the cars in this comparison, except for the Subaru. Plus nissan handles way better than all of them. stupid review...
v1per808 1 year ago
@v1per808 Not true!
BklynJayL 1 year ago
@BklynJayL so you think the camry, fusion, accord, malibu, and sonata handles better than the altima. The only car that handles better than the altima in the mid size category is the mazda 6. In the slalom, the altima has the fastest speed. It's been tested that the Altima is faster from 0-60 because its lighter than all of them and the CVT brings out more power for the car. right now, i really think the best cars in the mid size category is the new Kia Optima, Nissan Altima, and the Mazda 6.
v1per808 1 year ago
@v1per808 Well..., you have a point by saying with, the Mazda6. That's the reason why, they don't include the Mazda6 in most comparisons because, they know, it's going to win. Now, with the N. Altima..., I'd say, it's the best handling car out of the bunch, also...but, not the quickest! Remember..., not of these cars are the "top of the line" versions. If they would've been..., Ford would've involved it's Sport version of the Fusion...in which, would've made it VERY hard for the others!
BklynJayL 1 year ago
@BklynJayL Mazda 6 wouldnt win because it has the weakest engine and is actually one of the slowest in the mid size class. The only thing Mazda 6 exceeds in is the handling, nothing else. And idk if the 2.5 is faster, but i know the 3.5 V-6 altima is the fastest compare to these cars being tested here. Its lighter and the Nissan's V-6 was named as one of the best V-6 ever built. As of right now, i think the 2011 Kia Optima is the best mid size sedans out there.
v1per808 1 year ago
@v1per808 The "top of the line" Mazda6 does 0-60 only in 6.4 secs....so, I'm pretty sure, it's faster than, most sedans in this comparison here. Those times will give the 3.5 Altima a good run for it's money! I can admit to Nissan building one of the greatest V6s...but, you can sleep on Ford V6s, now. The new V6 'Stang produces over 330hp. naturally and, respectfully! As far as, Kia having the best mid-size sadan..., not too sure about that. What about the VW. Passat or, Mitsu. Gallant?
BklynJayL 1 year ago
@BklynJayL I doubt it can go 6.4. It's the least powerful V-6. Also Mustangs are not mid-size. I'm talking about the V-6 in mid-sized sedans. But if you want to talk about mustangs V-6, its still not as good as the Nissan's Z or the Infiniti's V-6. VW and the Mistsu are just not up to it. The VW might be more luxurious and has a Turbo in it, but it doesn't look fancy and VW hasn't lived up to its name; it had many problems. with the money, i rather buy a BMW or an Audi A4.
v1per808 1 year ago
@v1per808 I just want to remind you that though Nissan's V-6 does produce more power than Ford's V-6, it's a LOT rougher and noisier (in a bad way). Almost everyone criticizes the 370Z for horrible noise and ride quality, a lot due to the rough engine. The Infiniti G37 and M37 are a little better, but not much. Ford may not have pushed their's to reach similar output, but at least it's a lot smoother
WayfstrthnU 1 year ago
BklynJayL 1 year ago
@BklynJayL I can't wait till nissan makes the vq a direct injection. The VQ is the best v6 made imo
Stevenhiggles 1 year ago
@Stevenhiggles When is Nissan's suppose to make this engine?
BklynJayL 1 year ago
@BklynJayL I think they will make it when completion forces them to. Look at the camaro and mustang for example. Chevy did it first and basically forced Ford to redo the engine for the v6 and the v8. When the Mid size sedans follow suit with the altimas price range, u can expect it.
Stevenhiggles 1 year ago
@BklynJayL What's not true?
BklynJayL 1 year ago
@v1per808 Probably the interior quality. Actually, the Nissan DID in fact have the most quiet ride of all the cars here; I think it's just starting to get a bit long in the tooth. There's nothing really fancy like Ford SYNC or Hyundai's great I-4. The Camry definitely shouldn't have won, and I think the Nissan should have been higher, but it's still not good enough to take first place.
WayfstrthnU 1 year ago
@WayfstrthnU i actually agree with you about the Ford SYNC. I actually like that system. Hyundai, to me its just not as sporty enough. Im a sports car enthusiast and I actually own a 2010 Nissan Altima. I tested mostly every car in the market and Nissan was my favorite. Yea i agree the V-6 is rougher and noisier in the Nissan, but I actually like it. lol. But overall i think it should be top 3. Toyota on the other hand should be the least favorite.

The recall affects nearly every Sonata sold in the U.S. during that period
trinoma88 1 year ago
@globalk100 The recall could worsen if more quality issues emerge. Problems with the door-lock mechanism surfaced when the revamped Sonata first hit U.S. showrooms in February, but a quick recall of affected models prevented the issue from escalating. But the latest recall involves a much larger number of vehicles, sparking more concerns over quality.
trinoma88 1 year ago
@trinoma88 Thats a simple door lock issue that happens when u hold down the lock button it has nothing to do with performance or safety of a car . Look at Toyotas safety recalls ots record breaking there even worst then the domestic junks LMAO

In the world of automobile there are names that stay on the top. There are names that take the lead not only in one generation but for several generations and counting. They are simply undisputable with the quality of cars that they produce and sell.
trinoma88 1 year ago
Success in the auto industry is measured through results of sale. If there is a high sale then it means the name of the car has gained the trust of people. Some people stick to what they have tried before; others try the ones that are being talked about for the great performance and quality.

DJEddieXZ 1 year ago
@DJEddieXZ Yo, Wait for the 2012 Outlander. It's much more improved.
cladimere 1 year ago
@cladimere I was looking at that but it seems like they are going to make all the cars look the lancer?
DJEddieXZ 1 year ago
@DJEddieXZ No, just the outlander. The Galant and endeavor still look like themselves...
cladimere 1 year ago
@cladimere I wonder what they are going to do with the Gallant, They should make a 2012 Diamante

@DJEddieXZ Mitsubishi is an irrelevant car company... Except Evo which is a 40k compact

@igotwhips Unfortunatley, but they need to re design their cars to make them more modern so they stand out
