To all those who like watching war documentary's there is a Danish movie called ''Armadillo'' it's like this movie it in the Helman province. I can really only reconmend it.
Most of the time the army never gets the credit or respect we deserve I rember most of my friends In high school wanted to join the marines cuz of their uniform n movies like full metal jacket meanwhile since I join the army I see a lot marines switching to the army n am like is that your semper fi , nonetheless I give my respects to all the service members of our military hooa ! May God be with u at all times
All soldiers (and seamen/women), marines, airmen deserve respect. We all perform necessary duties. Sure, some, like these guys, are much further from the norm, but we all are trained to fight, and perform a job...and we all volunteer to do it. So screw the arguements between the affiliations, we are all brothers and sisters in arms, correct? Love to all my fellow Patriots who now, or ever wore a uniform in service of our great nation! SFC Rikki Hurston
if you've actually watched the movie later there is a marine, or at least he's wearing MARPAT, the marine's official camo pattern, the army cant wear it due to a copyright symbol printed on the uniform. but the SEALS can, so it could have been a seal but i don't think so.
I hate how these comments are filled with hatred towards an "opposing" branch of the military. In my opinion, anyone who will take a gun and throw on some camo and lay their life on the line for the United States of America deserves the upmost respect. Go Army, Go Marines, Go Navy, Go Airforce. You are the beating heart and the bravery of this country.
@alteamone Just because I support our troops for their bravery doesn't mean i support killing. That's a rash and unfair argument. That would be like me saying: "You are calling me a hero for killing? you must hate all branches of the military and the way they look out for you and the nation."
Of course im not going to use that, but do you see what im saying? Where do you honestly think this nation would be without people who look out for each other?
This film provides insight into what is happening a world away, and presents a surreal view of the pressures emotionally and physically that our soldiers experience. Documentaries that set out to show the world as it is are the most influential. I recently saw Programming the Nation?, and in that film they were able to expose the realities of subliminal messaging in broadcasting and publishing. The media will no longer have a hold on our minds in the way it has for years, bitly .com/oQ0ZVk.
After years of sustained fighting and casualties with little evident progress, the US military closed Korangal Outpost on April 14, 2010. Forty-two American service men died fighting in the Korangal and hundreds were wounded, primarily between the years of 2006 and 2009. Many Afghan soldiers died there as well. The valley has been dubbed "The Valley of Death" by American forces.
@thegei MY uncle was special forces aviation in the army and one of the first units in afghanistan, so ya I have a lot of respect for the army in that way, and also I have the respect for them knowing that they, on occasion fight worse firefights then marines, but the pacific theatre is what gave me my respect for the marines. So what it was 60 yrs ago, the fighting they did on Iwo Jima, Gaudalcanal, and new Britain inspired me to want to join the marines.
@MrBluenano you just now have the same respect for the Army as you do the Marines? I'm being objective in saying "what did the Marine Corps do to gain your respect that the Army hasn't?"
and pale, yes the marines are badass and great men.. but some of the toughest men ive met were army special forces. like some airborne guys who were in the movie.. the army airborne have been known since world war II to drop behind enemy lines and be surrounded.. So yes at times army does take some of the most shit, and the marines are not always the toughest s.o.b
I find it funny how those who have never been to Afghanistan say some of the most shit about the U.S military and the army palehorse and dmharvey when you stop playing call of duty and actually have the balls to serve your country then shut the fuck up. I did CCT for the airforce in the Kandahar Valley. I served with some of the toughest army men. so how before you say something dont talk
@AirPower107 Hey jackass I did my 7 1/2 years active Army three tours in Iraq 04, 07, and 09 so don't "call of duty" me bud. I'm refering to GambleDwarf, that dude is a internet badass bottom line.
This guy gambledwarf claims he was in the USMC and an Afghanistan Veteran, however he has trouble spelling and calls himself "dwarf". Aside from these observations he also belives this movie about marines....Well buddy did you notice the US ARMY uniforms that say "US ARMY" on the nametapes? Just another little kid wanting to play GI Joe!
@palehorseridder Umm, bud. I never once said i was in the United States Marine Corps. Maybe you misunderstood when i stated that these soldiers are in the Corps. Learn to read genius. haha. I NEVER said i was in Afghanistan, can you please tell me when i stated that I served in country? Fucking genius aren't we?
@dmharvey79 You really think the army deploys into the most dangerous areas of Afghanistan? The army has dropped its fucking standards to nill. How about you fucking qualify at 500 yards. The Marines were acttualy in fucking country. They weren't returning back to base to have an air cooled portable with fucking pizza. They were out there burning their own shit to get rid of it. So please shut the fuck up and go back to being a worthless POG.
@GambleDwarf100 Whatever kid...I did my time in Afghanistan, worked with 10th MTN, CJSOT-F, and 2-8 Marines while I was there. I'd like to see you stand out in front of me at 500 yards once, it wouldn't be the best day of your life. I'll let you go back to talking about things you know nothing about now, have fun.
@GambleDwarf100 Hey dumbass this is B / 2/ 503 PIR 173 AB do your research. Listen son, Marines fight battles...the Army fights wars..just remember that!
