this music has an strange effect it's different to everything else which is popular today...need to run around or something right now but there is snow outside xD
makes me sad to think i musta had a few chances to hear Mr. Gilliam play with my all-time favorite player Sam H. I always liked lightin' by himself; live or recorded. For me, that's when he was at his best:; fierce and fearless. Whoever said Earl knew Sam's timing sounds right-on. I hope ALL us white folk know what a debt we owe; and oh what a debt we are gonna pay. They gave a whole lot more than we every did; 'we' are takers. God Bless them All
Thanks for taking this video and sharing it with us, Debra. Really cool... and nice to see Larry Evans up there on bass. You even caught Earl's feet tapping and working the pedals--that was very cool! And who was that drummer? He looked familiar. Is he a Big Easy regular player?
One of my on-line friends is a science documentary maker. She's said that doing documentaries has taught her as much as her advanced degrees ever did, and got her a LOT more respect. With the resurgence in interest in the old blues guys, financing might not be that hard to come by!
Dude, does Earl have any CDs available? I got a musician (opera singer) buddy on line that wants one BAD...and I don't have one either. (And do you have any type of recording with Ron on it?)
Loved this clip , i wonder if earl was the player who did Wrong Doin Woman , on the Houston R&b 1958 to 63 Crazy Kat copulation album, always really liked that song , great to see him perform Thanks alot
Yes, it´s the same man who did Wrong Doing Woman on that Krazy Kat compilation. He also had another 45 released on the Sarg label in the late 50´s. Thanks for sharing, Debra!
Dang, that makes me miss Ron...Classic Earl. Just needs a little Canadian Sunset or some yodeling!! Bass player there? Larry Evans, AKA my Baby Bro. Thanks for the video, Debra. Earl's the Real Deal, and I hope somebody does a full documentary on him before we lose him. He's got years to go, as long as he gets to play.
Good good !@!!!!!
