  • whats the water color pencil brand you used?

  • @XxMkumixX Check the description and have a look at the Q&A video, it answers the most common questions, yours included.

  • awesome!!!! event better than FL's face-up

  • What type of shimmer powder did you use?

  • Wow! It was sooo worth the watch!! Love your faceups! It's just beautiful and you work really hard and put some much effort to it! Kudos to you ! <3 I will definitely one day send my dolls out for you to do too!

  • This video inspires me to get a BJD doll. I never had one, but I was really thinking about getting one for my birthday. This is just so artistic. I'm so afraid to do a face-up because I never done one before, lol

  • 5 persons don't like the beauty :D

  • hey, got a few questions:

between layers, when were the times u used MSC?

how long does the whole process take?

ive seen on most tutorials that people use acrylic instead of watercolor pencils. why did u prefer to use pencils?

    thanks for reading.

  • Beautiful! Quick question though: How do you keep the eyebrows from rubbing off? I was just wondering because in the video I didn't see you seal them.

  • wow, you're so amazing. Did you use pastel?. thank you for posting this. Wonderful Artist ^^

  • Beautiful. I love watching your work.

Why do you clip the eyelashes into pieces? Is it just to make them easier to apply?

I kind of want to see what your work table looks like... Do you have a spray hood/vent for working with the sealants or do you run outside every time?

  • This is amazing. This is the first I see am artist at work. I simply love it. Thank you for posting this.

Where did you learn how to do this?

  • whered you get the black watercolor pencil??? i have been looking forever to find just ONE! :( and i cant...they are either really dark gray and show up as such, or they thurn out to not actually be watercolor at all :/

  • Fantastic.

  • Doyou seal it between each color aplication?

  • where do you purchase your tools at? dollheads, paint etc..? i tried googling but they're very pricey : ( im a beginner so i just want to practice first.. thanks!

  • @pinkdisko when I first started I spent about $600 on basic materials/tools and another $500 to get a few resin heads to work on. It is not a cheap hobby.

  • request song name, and what kind of genre is this song classified under?

  • (っ◕‿◕)っ gimmi

  • how long does it take just to do one face?

  • Heh. I wish my makeup looked that epic. >:D

  • WOW IS AWESOME do an excellent job! Congratulations:)

  • I love your video! It's so detailed and man, you make it look so easy. XD I love how soft and nicely blended all your colours are. *u*

  • just inspired a reboot of mischief's face! I do a bit better with paint then the pencils, but the lips came out awesome this time. Thanks so much!

  • Wonderful work *v*!!

  • Very usuful! Thank you!!!*_*

  • You are so talented, she's beauitful! I think it's really cool how adding little details can make it look so much better, like the white lines above the black on the eyelids ^^

  • I really love the job you do on the dolls, and hope I can get the chance for a facup from you one day *^-^* Continue to do a great job xD

  • Thank you so much for doing these videos :) I'm a fan of your work and have been struggling with face-ups myself for years now. I would really like to see a video dedicated to eyelashes, when I use water color pencils like you do my lines are always so grainy.. I'd also love to see a video dedicated to eyebrows :)

Is there a special trick to making the lines look smoother and less grainy? Other than keeping the pencil properly sharpened I mean :)

  • Your's are by far the prettiest i've seen :)

  • heyy.. um i have a question what are these made out of and how can i get it? and can you make a whole doll out of this? does it come with a kit or something? thx for reading i hope

  • @nekogummibear These are BJD (ball jointed dolls) made out of resin. Google will give you plenty of info ^^

  • Where did you get the head from?

  • Comment removed

  • Just : "Wa" .. That's so perfect !

  • will you be doing a natural-style face up?

  • @NuclearDraco yes :)

  • Hello!~ I would really love to see a video on a faceup where the doll has unique markings. For example many times your faceups have circles or swirls on the cheeks or a heart or other symbol. Thank you, your work is very inspiring. ^^

  • @JubilantlyVictorious I will as soon as someone commissions me for a faceup like that :)

  • @NicollesDreams Oh great, thank you ^^

  • I'm curious about how long you take to finish a faceup?

Your work is amazing, love it ^-^

  • @leliechan this one took 3 days

  • how do u like strock it with a dry brush without making the color smuged while its still wet?

  • @sweetblackblood1 I dont use paint for that but pastels.

  • what if u made a mistake?? how do correct it? or do u clean it with something?

  • @sweetblackblood1 I erase it (with eraser if pastels or water if paint) before sealing it.

  • u really use water color?? don't they getpaler and paler afer years or don't the color get smuged?? i thought al the time u used real makeup!! cause i saw your gallery in DA

  • @sweetblackblood1 Real make-up has oils in it (or other substances) that can stain and ruin the doll. You can only use certain materials.

  • @sweetblackblood1 the faceup is not supposed to be permanent, it is not like with porcelain dolls. I have had a doll with the same faceup for 2 years and didnt notice any difference. No you cant use human makeup because it could damage the resin or stain it.

  • @sweetblackblood1:

I know the question wasn't aimed toward me, but I want to help. c:

Certain oil/watercolour/acrylic/gouache pigments can last decades on its own (with oil and acrylic having extra support and lasting the longest, what with the material). The problem is often the sealant, as most resin-safe spray sealants aren't intended for permanent application.

Even though, with proper care, the sealant shouldn't crack for a few years. <3

  • what kinds of pastls do you use

  • I've been a fan of your work for a very long time Andreja; being able to see your work progress it's simply jaw dropping. Such delicate work with simple ready available materials. Thank you so much for sharing this with us ;U;! Keep up the good work!

  • What brand/model of airbrush do you use?

  • do you spray sealant in-between layers? how often? or is it all one go and then seal?

  • Perfect!

  • Thanks for this video, it does really help! :)

  • Fantastic. When you're using the watercolor pencils, are they entirely dry or have you wet them a little bit? I've used them before, but I feel like the lines don't look as smooth as yours. Thank you for sharing this vid! It's inspiring.

  • @laprimaveraplanta I never wet the watercolor pencils because the core would get too soft and it would ruin the sharp point that I need to make smooth lines ^^

  • This was so cool to watch, thank you for putting in those pop ups to explain the why of everything, it was fascinating. :)

  • This video is great! I have never done a faceup before and am researching. I have a background in art and makeup, so I thought I'd give faceups a try. This video really gives me confidence knowing it's possible to use watercolor pencils and still achieve such a result.

I am a big fan. I love browsing her portfolio to look at all the beautiful faces she creates. I'm also a fan of Gemma. <3

Andreja, if you see this, can you please tell me how often you spray between layers? Thank you!

  • I'm so glad to see that such an amazing job could be done with watercolour pencils! I've never been much of a painter, in terms to acrylic, so this definitely eases me much more when I get my first doll. 8)

Not to mention, I've always been a big fan of yours-! It doesn't seem to matter what exactly it is that you do, it's always perfect! (like your sewing!) I don't mean to fangirl like crazy, but you're just one of those people who make me all giddy. D8

  • What is the song and video editing program you used? The opening is so pretty!

  • @Poiizu I use After Effects, all the songs and audio effects are from AudioJungle

  • Right, one more thing I wanted to ask! [Sorry].

If you were to do a faceup for an "albino-like" doll or some really pale chacater. How would you do the eyebrows? [Like, what would be the "base color" por the eyebrows, would you actually "paint" the hairs white, or would you choose some other color?, etc].

  • Lady, you are amazing! This will help me a lot when I try to do my doll's faceup.

Are you planning on making a video of the faceup process of a smaller doll? [Yo-sd or even pukipuki] Or would it be too hard to "capture"?

Oh, also. Do you plan to ever make a body blushing? : >

Lady, keep up the beautiful work.♥ And thanks for letting us see how the magic is done~.

  • @Kisara2424 Yes I plan to cover as many different sculpts as I can. Not sure about PukiPuki though, they are really super small >_<

I don't do body blushing anymore so I dont think I will make a video about that. Regarding the albino doll you can check my Flickr photostream where I painted a doll that had light complexion (very albino like) and white eyebrows just use the search bar for "Leeke Mihael". So white hairs on a darker base - in my case it was grey.

  • Ciao! :D Sono arrivata qui da deviantart! Sei sempre più brava complimenti!

  • @robertaburattini Ah ciao!!! it has been awhile and my italian has gotten really bad in the past few years so I hope you dont mind I reply in english D= !!! Thank you very much it is nice hearing from you XD

  • wow! great work! The FL Chloe is just the perfect canvas for a faceup demo! And your film is so clear! Really wonderful :-)

  • @Siouxmoo I will try to have a 720p version next time :)

  • You don't even use a template for eyebrows and can get them even all by yourself?! :O -Is dazzled- Also, I'm beyond flabbergasted that you just use pencils for the lashes... that's some fine work! :)

  • where did you buy these ''face masks''?

  • @CHUNGZZZZ They're doll heads that attach to larger body. They're call asian ball jointed dolls.

  • what type of art is this called? this looks beautiful :D

  • Hello, your work is great. What brand of the pencil do you use. Thank you.

  • @prokopenkor I'm sure you would have noticed the answer to this if you had taken a moment to notice and read her replies. It's right there ;)

  • I'm absolutely loving this video. I can't wait for more. I really enjoy watching these kinds of videos. Keep up the great work!

  • This is really stupid but I've never quite seen one of these in real life and I was just wondering how do you put the eyes in / the rest of the head together? I've been eyeing these dolls for years but I back out because I have no idea what to do when it comes to putting them together.

  • i'm not sure exactly what your doing....but it's really entertaining!!

  • I'd love to see more videos like this! It's so interesting to watch you work. =)

    Thanks for uploading this!

  • @anthroartist87 this is a weekly project so if everything goes as planed I will have one video each week :)

  • Super love this! Please upload the next one, really wanted to see it >w<

  • Thank you so much for posting this. It was most informative, I loved how some things were a completely new way of doing it and how I recognized some of the tricks I use as well from this video. I am a huge fan and cannot wait to see more videos. I only have one request, could you leave the tab that says what your doing a little bit longer, some of us are slow readers ;)

  • @LadyFeatherwind Sure thing, I will add a few seconds to the tabs :) Thank you ^0^

  • @LadyFeatherwind

You can always pause the video.

  • Ohh wow. This is soo very awesome.

  • wow this was really interesting to watch! I hope you do more! I've always wondered the kind of work that went into making these dolls faces come to life :)

  • Wow, this is amazing :) I've adored your faceups for an eternity and always been amazed by your talent. I own a Unoa Lusis and am having the hardest time doing her faceup because her details are tiny. I'm especially having a hard time with her lips and lip corners, so i would love to see you paint a Unoa. Also, I do realize that this is kind of boring, but maybe just some tips on removing faceups or mistakes? If I make ONE mistake on my Unoas lips it's almost impossible for me to remove it :(

  • Hi Andreja !

Thanks so much for this super video !

You'r work is already perct and wonderful !

I have juste a little question, what do you use for shinny?

    Thanks so much^^

and I can't wait to see other video !

  • I've been interested in these kinds of dolls for about a year and a half now, and I was wondering if you had any tips for someone who's looking into trying these sort of things for the first time? Also, your work is completely outstanding. This video was by far one of the best I've seen, great work.

  • This is absolutely amazing! I love the colors and how it's all blended out so gently...:)

can I ask..where do you get your supplies? I've always wanted to try doing something like this before but never knew where to find the supplies and how to teach my self how to do it, so I will be very glad if you would help me with the first problem, Thanks anyway ;)

  • omg..that is brilliant!! :D

  • this was just so amazing! i kinda wish it had eyes and hair though, right? amazing though, well done xxx

  • thank you so much for your sharing~! ❤

  • This was extremely interesting to watch!!

  • awww this video is amazing and you're great <3...

    thanks!!!!

  • Fantastic work! :D So much details put in! Thank you for sharing!

  • Wow this was beautiful!

  • Thank you for sharing your work, Andreja! I learned so much!!

  • Interesting to watch you put the eyelashes in. It never occurred to me that you could cut them into small bits like that. I have a doll whose eyelashes will need replaced soon, and I'm terrified to do it because I've never done it before. Really great video- I'm really looking forward to the next one!

  • Thank you, dear, this is VERY useful! Great work!~

Could you perhaps tell me what watercolour pencils do you use? I used FaberCastell and never managed to get such a solid line. :(

  • @rualotiery Glad to hear it was useful :)

all of my watercolor pencils are FaberCastel except of the white and black ones which are from Derwent.

  • So awesome! This looks like a lot of fun! :D

  • I ne er try face up but now that i keep continuing working since last year i will try to buy the materials to face up my dolls can i use prisma colors i need a tutorial what to use in order to seal the face up is with mr super clear. hopefully i can try that one to see how it look like i will have to prac in case i make a mistake plus am ordering a dollfie soon this year tomorrow will so cant wait.

  • Is this all on one layer of MSC? or did you cut out everytime you sprayed it? :) Very beautiful work! xoxo

  • @BJDpocalypse No, there were more than 20 layers of sealant. I cut a lot of parts that felt repetitive. There was almost twice as much video than you see here, but they were just showing how I was adding pastels over and over again to build up colour intensity.

  • This is absolutely an amazing video. Thank you very much for sharing. I have some questions but I'm afraid to ask them. -_-

  • it scares me how real this thing looks

  • I wish I could do that with my face! Just pop it of, paint it the way you want it to look and pop it back on again!

  • Amazing work! She is so beautiful. How many coats of MSC is that? Would love a note on when you sealed each layer next time. Thank you so much for sharing!

  • amazing!!! :D

  • What is it for?

  • where did you get the face? :O

    Its so cool! <3

  • gorgeous!

  • Simply beautiful.

  • that was super useful! thanks for sharing :D <3

    though I am surprised you use watercolour pencils. I was never able to make beautiful smooth line with those so I assumed others use acrylic paint. but I was too afraid to use it ^^;

  • @creepygirl94 I tried using paints to do eyelashes as well but I just couldnt get used to the technique >_< So yeah pencils all the way for me lol

  • Thats absolutely AMAZING!!!!! *applause*

  • the door makeup really pretty!

  • wooow thats so great i love it

i really want to be like you

  • I love it. Your technique is awesome.

I would love to see a note where you did an MSC coat just so I know where you did it.

Love it. Lots of practice for me to get to your amazing level. Good work.

    mwah

  • @feegertracey ah that is a good idea! thanks! :)

  • Cool, it's so nice to see the process. <3 :D If you don't mind me asking, about how many times to you apply MSC (or whatever sealant) to the faceup? Are there a lot of layers in between each step of painting? :o

  • @Kiizi I will be adding that info in the next video so people know when exactly I sealed the faceup :) This one had more than 20 coatings to be able to build up the colour intensity I wanted.

  • Thank you so much for sharing, Andreja! Awesome work as always *w*

  • EXCELLENT!

  • You make it all look so easy Andreja ;3; Honoured to be able to watch your talented hands in action.

And really, if anyone finds this creepy, don't watch, it's that simple. Nobody's making you torture yourself O_o

  • @MYVtwinSYA Thank you, that was such a kind comment ^0^

  • Comment removed

  • You are quite an artist.

  • I'm so glad to know you use color pencils too! I'm a faceup noob and I use color pencils and pastel, I keep meaning to practice using my liner but it's so much easier to use pencils. I always thought all the faceup pros used paint for eyelashes and everything...

  • @fish300017 hehe I know how you feel. I tried learning how to draw the eyelashes with paints, but I just couldn't do it D= It got really frustrating after a bit so I went back to pencils.

  • I actually don't like dolls and stuff, they're creepy, but shes just beautiful *__*

    very nice work.

  • People who are saying this is weird, you're totally wrong. This is artwork!

  • Very awesome!!!!!!!!! This is indeed incredible!!

  • never mind that is the weirdest thing ever! omg im so weirded out...

  • that is a little creepy...

  • Wow, this was fascinating! I'd love if you could put in a little note each time you sprayed. It was a bit hard to tell if you'd moved the camera or something, or sprayed. How many coats are there? Thank you so much for posting this, your work is admirable!

  • @snowgray0 Will do next time :) This one had more than 20 sealant coatings. I am happy to hear you liked it ^^

  • This is awesome to see yo! <3 Thank you so much for posting! :D

  • @navci Thank you for watching Miss!

  • Beautiful work! Thank you so much for sharing this, it's very well done.

  • Wow this was so cool to watch! Thank you for sharing!! :D

  • I would really love to see your equipment ^_^ from paintbrushes, pastels and brushes to your airbrush!

  • @Immifer I will make a couple of tutorials to cover each of those in more detail :) It will take some time though but I have it on my To Do List

  • What brand of gloss do you use? :3

  • @HoshiBerry It is called Water Based Acrylic Paint, Hobby Color clear gloss :)

  • Beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing, I learned so very much! It was beautiful and almost zen to watch.

  • @koipondering Glad to hear that xD I hope the next one will be just as pleasing

  • What is that smoothing brush you use? I noticed you used it a lot after the smaller angled brushes.

  • @BiscuitDegaro It is a regular soft brush Mont Marte number 6

  • Thank you so much for sharing your work with us. It's wonderful to see the process!

  • @dollsoflace Thank you for watching XD

  • What type paintbrushes do you use and their sizes. Also what pastels do you use? How times do you seal the face as well?

  • @EXOKai4life This faceup was sealed more than 20 times. I will be adding that info from the next video on so that you can see when that happens.

Regarding the brushes, I will be making a separate video to cover those in detail :)

  • This was totally awesome, and was worth the wait! Where do you use paint and where do you use pastels exactly? Because it's like I can barely tell them apart on the video.

  • @Emstery gouache was used at the beginning with my airbrush and for the eyeliner :) All the rest was pastel

  • This was great to watch, you always do such beautiful work it was a real treat to see it action. Thanks so much for sharing this with us!

  • @xhanthi Thank you very much! I hope you will like the next one as well :)

  • @NicollesDreams Now that would be highly amusing, my camera doesn't take video so I'd have to use my iphone LOL.

  • this is amazing! my only comment is add a watermark that is on the video the whole time to protect your work :)

  • @ArchArtemis You are absolutely right! Watermark will be on in the next video for sure :) Thank you!

  • OMG this is amazing!! How long did this take you? The only suggestion i have is to maybe show the airbrushing tool wen youare airbrushing the color oninthe beginning <333333

  • Thanks a lot! This is very interesting to watch and also helpful. I'd like to know how you work with smaller sizes, but really, any other video about faceup will be great to watch!

  • @annetta82 I will try to cover all sizes and different resin colors :) Next week will most likely be a grey skin Pipos. Thank you for watching xD

  • Also, do you spray a sealent after each step or do you just use gloss?

  • @Makki21 The faceup was sealed more than 20 times :) I will be adding the info when that happens from the next video on.

  • this is fantastic! I'm a total newbie when it comes to face ups so your work is like amazing to me! Thanks for posting.

But is there a certin kind of paint that you use for the airbrush?

  • @Makki21 I use gouache for my airbrush, It just needs to be diluted with enough water to get it to a milk like consistency :)
