after the female mouse gets pregnant what happens with the male will it kill the babies or something and how long does it take for them to have the babies??????? please answer my question i really want to know and ive been trying to find out for ages :)

I have a very small doe, she's old enough to breed now (around 6-7 months) and she has a beautiful color, I'd love to breed her to one of my bucks (watching mouse babies grow is a beautiful ecperience :) ) but she looks too small.... I don't think she's going to continue growing, is it allright to breed her even if she's small?

Hey There, i have to females and one male, i have a young female but she is still a tiny little thing so i was thinking that the male shouldent breed with her, but my other female is about 1 year in 2 months so i was then thinking that the male should breed with her, they have now met each other for 3 days and still not mated, if you can do you know if you can make them, or should i wate just a little more, untill they mate... cheers

@cedarsqueen I wouldn't play with the babies because she will eat them because of the human smell, she feels they are no longer hers and a threat when they have a human smell. And if it is her first litter, she may only have one, but don't be surprised if more come.

@ThePuppyLuva (This is Rodentexpert on a new account) You cannot keep the male with the babies, he will eat the babies. And the mother eats one or two if they are ill to protect the others, or she will eat the whole litter if she feels threatened, because it is just instinctual.
Just letting everyone know that a mouse can have between 1-25 babies in one litter and she can have up to 12 litters a year. She also goes into heat again about 12-24 hours after birth....

They most likely haven't been put with males, and it is totally normal for mice to be frantic when they get food, and for them to have a nest. I have had boy mice that make nests as well.
Don't let your mouse have babies. It's stress for them and most of the babies are boys and you can't keep them together when they are not castrated. They would kill each other sooner or later. Even if they NOW look like best friends. A castration costs a lot and is risky.
Ok I have what appears in all aspects to be 2 female mice, i got the second mouse 2 weeks ago and she was humping my other female mouse and now my older females sides are sticking out slightly and she is showing signs of enlarge nipples kinda hard to tell though

You will know when your mousie is showing signs. She will start to look like a golf ball. Also Always check in the bed. But maybe you should try only having one female in there, that might make the chances of them having babies better.
It could be any day now, even today. Depending on when she got pregnant, if you know when she had the chance to get pregnant. Be prepared, and have her in an aquarium.

Actually, some females just get a little fat, they don't always look like a golf ball. I speak from 5 years experience. And yet I still breed them.
