Yes! I finally found this song! I heard it many, many years ago on SCTV, but I never knew the title or who sang it. (As a non-Canadian, I never knew about Stompin Tom until recently. Sorry.) I wasn't sure I'd ever get to hear this again. Not to mention the additional verses that I don't remember being on SCTV.
Thank you for being to it and at it and putting this song on here.
this came on the jukebox at work while i was drawing a character, and I could so see a random collection of clips of said character running around and causing/experiencing random chaos XD it fits him so well and I don't know why.
@howardstern666 I remember there was also a second, harder version in that sketch...I'm guessing it may have been performed by Ian Thomas but I can't remember for sure. Jeebus I loved that episode!!
@ChristopherHinves - Actually, it was performed by Paul Flaherty, Joe's brother. I'd love to get an mp3 copy of that version though (and by the by, you should pick up the SCTV Vol 4 that has that episode...that particular one has commentary with Joe Flaherty and Martin Short that is HI-larious).
Hey! I live in the Gaspe, and I always get to it and at it. Well, sometimes...

The 75 funniest minutes in TV history may have been when SCTV picked up the CBC feed because of a labor stoppage.

This track was used in the old SCTV sketch, Garth and Gord and Fiona and Alice. Hilarious!

I laughed so hard, I haven't heard this song in years, and I loved your fairly accurate portrayal of Nova Scotians, myself being one, thank you
