  • These days he prefers to be called Person-of-Color-Star.

  • I remember the PowerStar! And eternal struggle betweent the power sword and the star sword. I thought this was a cool show as a kid.

  • Help save the Trobbits of the Trire against the evil lord Trauron!

  • The shape shifter sidekick was cool. Good Filmation series, but not quite up to the level of He-Man, which came a couple years later.

  • COOL . . . Where did Blackstar come from?

Like it and want to see more of it.

  • What the hell is a "Trobbit"? That wouldn't be anything like a Hobbit, would it?

  • The fake Heman

  • @mariarts: Blackstar was first,.. that makes He-Man the fake Blackstar?.. o0

    Hmzz.. never mind...

  • "An ancient alien universe." As opposed to an ancient local universe?

  • How the hell can you call them swords?!? They look more like some kind of crowbar!

  • And the powersword and starsword make the six million dollar man bionic noise! RIP OFF!

  • Overlord? Looks more like Galactus to me.

  • fail cartoon. they even stole Dragon's Lair font...

  • This screams movie adaptation. ;-)

  • @515sbest Hell yeah! As much as I liked Blackstar...Thundarr was just awesome! Peace all.

  • Sounds a little too close to John Carter on Mars

  • BLackStaR Couldnt hold

    Thundarr's Jockstrap. Thundarr was Original

  • I always liked the fact that a STAR split in 2 and became swords. WTF!?! :)

Even when I was 8 years old, I knew that there were too many things wrong with that to comprehend.

  • Damn, I think I actually watched this as a kid. Wow..

  • AWESOME!

  • this cartoon was 70s americas plea of "please dont make my son gay" yet all along making boys think geeze i wish i had a studly barreled chest and thick manly bicepts. hmmmm wait a minuet. there turning my son gay.

  • Bruce Timm's first animation work before He-man.Various Characters from this show(the dragon ie) appear in He-man.

  • This was one of my favorites as a kid ..... thanks for posting !@!

  • QUOTE: "a science fantasy story sometimes reported as being inspired by Thundarr the Barbarian"

I see John Carter of Mars and the Buck Rogers in the 25th Century TV series as being inspirations for this cartoon.
