My husband in the hospital, the lovely gay couple down the block brought me food, helped me clean my house and get it ready for when he got home. The next door neighbors I'd helped out didn't even ask how he was! They moved away and I miss them terribly. We shared much food and laughs and love. Going back to Brown v. The Board of Education 347 U.S. 483 (1954) separate has never been equal and could anyone seriously think that African-Americans could gain Civil Rights through a majority vote in Kansas in 1954? Much like Prop 8 in holding 2008, on well established precedent the Court needs to intervene on behalf of an oppressed minority group to overturn prop 8!

It's so ironic--and sad--that if religious fundamentalists could put aside their bigotry for a few minutes and actually talk to gay couples they'd learn that they share most of the same values when it comes to caring for a family. Calling their issue "family values" is a misnomer; we share the same values on that. The problem is they can't tolerate anything except their own narrow definition of what a family IS. I watch this family's videos and it makes my day. I remember the time when I spent three years trying to adopt ANY child (I had no preferences requested for age or sex) and could not adopt because I was "single". While it was true I was single, I thought that meant I had my whole heart to give to a child that needed a home.They thought that meant it wasn't good enough, in those days. 2)I caused my Share of stuff back in Florida coming out as a teenager and going to Grad Nite( a Disney graduation thing for Floridians) with the first same Sex Date there in Orlando. I was a Boy When Anita Bryant went to work on the gay Community and left a very bad impression on me about all religions. 1)depfox,both of our Children are from our DNA ( one from his and one from mine) and not adopted throgh the Miricles of Science. We both came from Cocoa Beach Florida where our Fathers worked For NASA and met as Kids, then time and The Military and College sent us in to two different directions it was not until many yrs later we met up again. By that time we had had very specific goals on what we wanted, and number one was to have a family.

Sometimes their parents are understanding, but it may take a while. However kids of fundamental parents, especially pastors, are living in hell. The hate, they have received from their parents etc is sickening. Some feel their kids would be better off dead.
