  • Seems very responsive. I want to buy one now. Are they single chain still? I would have thought double chain now? How much do these differ to the 9000?

  • I actually dig the 2000's alot more. They are way cheaper and they glide super smooth. 2000's are awsome

  • I tried these before and i was really disapointed. Even though it had many features, the spring tension sucked a lot. Even if its at its maximum tension, it will feel as though it is at medium compared to other pedals.

  • smoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooth

  • can i ask why is this one not double-chained?

  • It's an older model, that's how they first came back in the late 90's or so.

  • which pedals are better? iron cobra's or dw 5000's?

  • @ThePurpleDrumStick drum workshop makes the best hardware iron cobras are good but bulky and crazy heavy

  • Forgive me for marketing off your video but since the pedals in this video are sold already:

I'm selling my DW 5000 Double Pedals right now on Ebay!!! Check my video demo of them if you're interested please! It'd help me out a lot!!

    Thanks

  • No problem, glad to help! Best of luck.

  • the dw 5000's with single chain are so much better than the ones nowadays with the dual chain pedal.

  • @datommaster Are you sure? Have you compared them

  • @gatler05 yer. one of my older friends has both... playing on 9000s atm... the 5000 single chain felt great!

  • @datommaster Dang, I found a pair for 120. But then for 30 bucks more found a pair of 8002's, which one should I get? I am looking for a swift and heavy sound, what would be better for me.

  • @gatler05 try them out before you buy... you might not like either... i actually don't like the 9000 very much so im going to return to store and get iron cobras..

  • How much are you asking for your pedal?

  • Already sold it.

  • Just get a cobra.

  • i thought the dw 5000 was double chain driven?? My 7000 is double chain and when i was buying i thought i saw a 5000 with double... idk.

  • Yes, they are double chain now, but I bought this one new in 1997 and back then they just had single chains

  • @ivecadit Does The Single chain change the feel or anything really then now, the 2 double chained pedals?

  • its not double chain its a 5000 not 5002

  • hey did this come with a case?

  • Yes, it had the soft nylon type case.

  • Hello ~~~ thank you answer :) May you give me you MSN?? I feel You are the good person. :)

  • Excuse me ~~ Where did you buy your bass drum pedal ?It seems good to use.How much did you buy it in America? I form taiwan The price in taiwan is 520$ dollars ~~ SO "expensive" thank you^^

  • I think I paid about $180 for it new back in 1997. You can get them used on eBay for about $225 or so. If you like the 5002 consider the 7002. It feels just about the same and is less expensive. Otherwise, a better pedal is the 9002, but those are really expensive.

  • how far down on the pedal can you play to?

  • nice vid

  • Just bought one should i change any settings on it?

  • If it was brand new, there usually set pretty good for the majority of players, but depends on your style. Doesn't hurt to experiment.

  • i have a dw 5000 but it has a dual chain... same make and model

  • I have question: Is there any Double pedal for eletronic drums? I'm a beginner and I what to try, and I don't know if its possible to get one.

  • @jocaworld300

Hey , I play double kick and I play Roland electronic drums...Actually I just snapped the spring on the main pedal, but ive had them for 2 years and they take a beating. Any double pedals will fit on the td6 and the new $15000 td20 has a full size bass head. Electronic drums are great for recording and quick to set up on stage, but I still want an acoustic set...

  • smuuuuth

  • haha i read that as he was saying it

  • why are they single chain? :O

  • to reduce weight double chains dont really make a difference than single maybe if u been playin for like 15 years but other than that u wont notice

  • no actually i have iron cobras right now, and i prefer dw 5000 they are awesome pedal with way better response! im bought some a few days ago

  • Tama Iron Cobra is better

  • yeah but it is more expensive iron cobra is the best

  • @jessietigres

I broke a Gibralta pedal once, and was given an iron cobra while it got fixed...really liked it, but havent played it since...do you think they are as strong as DW?

  • @aj666aj yeah very durable

  • i had the 7000 and the slave pedal broke after 2 months so i went to tama iron cobras.they are the best pedals i have ever played

  • shit! what happened to the slave? did the connector rod joint snap or what?

  • "they're cleeeeean smooooooth" sound funny... never tested one of these DW 5000, but I have old Tama Camcos, which I heard are the predecessors of 5000's.

  • hey man please tery reply to this , not to be a bother but what is the connector called that the slave pedal uses to move the beater adn can you buy them individually?

  • old single chain version. Id take 7000's over this shit any day.

  • Agreed - amazing what a difference the double chains make.

  • @ivecadit

    what does double chain do?

  • 7000s don't have the bearing hinge. I have both and the 7000 is nice, but the 5000 is definitely a step up from the 7000.

  • these r older and shittier than 7000's man. ur talking about the newer revamp'd 5000's.

  • That looks nice! I have the same pedal but its a little busted

  • I would think that the dw9000 would be better it should be there's an approximately $150.00 difference in price. 9000 should also wash my car and clothes.

  • I noticed the beaters are heavy and when I use these ones, I found that if I shorten them more than normal, it gives a really quick feel. It seams strange at first but you get used to it and the speed is better.

  • I just got the DW5000 and i'm not that happy with its feel , it looks beautiful though. I tried it and the beater feels really big compromising speed , it pounds the shit out the head lovely but overall im not happy with it , my first instinct was to go with th Iron Cobra I think it would be a better pedal. with this DW i was trying to replace a 6 year old Pearl Eliminator (which was great when new ) but has lost its bounce back response .(continue)

  • turbo cam gives you a linear relationship between the force applied on pedal and the velocity of the beater (angular velocity of the cam).

accelerator cam gives you a NONlinear relationship between the forced applied on the pedal and the resultant velocity of the beater. the distance traveled drumhead.

accelerator cam gives you a nonlinear relationship between the

  • The offset cam on the Accelerator gives the chain more leverage at the beginning of the stroke and as your foot pushes down, the distance between the chain and the axles becomes less which progressively increases the speed of the beater. Hope that helps.

  • Basically the only difference between the two pedals is the Cam design. The Accelerator has an offset cam and the Turbo has a round (or "regular") cam.

  • how come dw pedals are so different ?

  • Hi bro! got a question.. wich is better DW 5000 or Iron Cobra?

  • I've not played the Iron Cobra but have heard great things about it, and would be willing to be it's better than a DW5000. However, a DW9000 would be better than both of them. I had an old Yamaha double pedal that I think was smoother and faster than a DW5000 so you just need to try them. And remember there are a lot of adjustment possibilities on all the pedals so tweak them until you get the right feel. Good luck!

  • Thanks Bro!

  • iron cobra

but the 9000 owns the iron cobra

  • why the hell would u carve the name of a band into ur pedals? lol

  • I know - I must have been high. We had our practice pad broken into and after that we marked everything we could.

  • stop saying drum workshop

  • how much do you want for them

  • They went for $188.00 last night on ebay.
