Seems very responsive. I want to buy one now. Are they single chain still? I would have thought double chain now? How much do these differ to the 9000?
I tried these before and i was really disapointed. Even though it had many features, the spring tension sucked a lot. Even if its at its maximum tension, it will feel as though it is at medium compared to other pedals.
@datommaster Dang, I found a pair for 120. But then for 30 bucks more found a pair of 8002's, which one should I get? I am looking for a swift and heavy sound, what would be better for me.
@gatler05 try them out before you buy... you might not like either... i actually don't like the 9000 very much so im going to return to store and get iron cobras..
Excuse me ~~ Where did you buy your bass drum pedal ?It seems good to use.How much did you buy it in America? I form taiwan The price in taiwan is 520$ dollars ~~ SO "expensive" thank you^^
I think I paid about $180 for it new back in 1997. You can get them used on eBay for about $225 or so. If you like the 5002 consider the 7002. It feels just about the same and is less expensive. Otherwise, a better pedal is the 9002, but those are really expensive.
Hey , I play double kick and I play Roland electronic drums...Actually I just snapped the spring on the main pedal, but ive had them for 2 years and they take a beating. Any double pedals will fit on the td6 and the new $15000 td20 has a full size bass head. Electronic drums are great for recording and quick to set up on stage, but I still want an acoustic set...
I broke a Gibralta pedal once, and was given an iron cobra while it got fixed...really liked it, but havent played it since...do you think they are as strong as DW?
@ ivecadit.....i really need ur help.can u plz tell me ur e mail address.i think i need to chat with u.i really need to know much about pedals ( dw pedals) and u gotta help me.plz reply......
"they're cleeeeean smooooooth" sound funny... never tested one of these DW 5000, but I have old Tama Camcos, which I heard are the predecessors of 5000's.
hey man please tery reply to this , not to be a bother but what is the connector called that the slave pedal uses to move the beater adn can you buy them individually?
I would think that the dw9000 would be better it should be there's an approximately $150.00 difference in price. 9000 should also wash my car and clothes.
I noticed the beaters are heavy and when I use these ones, I found that if I shorten them more than normal, it gives a really quick feel. It seams strange at first but you get used to it and the speed is better.
I just got the DW5000 and i'm not that happy with its feel , it looks beautiful though. I tried it and the beater feels really big compromising speed , it pounds the shit out the head lovely but overall im not happy with it , my first instinct was to go with th Iron Cobra I think it would be a better pedal. with this DW i was trying to replace a 6 year old Pearl Eliminator (which was great when new ) but has lost its bounce back response .(continue)
turbo cam gives you a linear relationship between the force applied on pedal and the velocity of the beater (angular velocity of the cam).
accelerator cam gives you a NONlinear relationship between the forced applied on the pedal and the resultant velocity of the beater. the distance traveled drumhead.

The offset cam on the Accelerator gives the chain more leverage at the beginning of the stroke and as your foot pushes down, the distance between the chain and the axles becomes less which progressively increases the speed of the beater. Hope that helps.
Basically the only difference between the two pedals is the Cam design. The Accelerator has an offset cam and the Turbo has a round (or "regular") cam.
I've not played the Iron Cobra but have heard great things about it, and would be willing to be it's better than a DW5000. However, a DW9000 would be better than both of them. I had an old Yamaha double pedal that I think was smoother and faster than a DW5000 so you just need to try them. And remember there are a lot of adjustment possibilities on all the pedals so tweak them until you get the right feel. Good luck!

I actually dig the 2000's alot more. They are way cheaper and they glide super smooth. 2000's are awsome

If it was brand new, there usually set pretty good for the majority of players, but depends on your style. Doesn't hurt to experiment.

7000s don't have the bearing hinge. I have both and the 7000 is nice, but the 5000 is definitely a step up from the 7000.
