The best film on the revolution is here on youtube "Children of Glory 1" with english subtitle. -- The west never helped Hungary. Not against the mongols, or against the turks, not in 1849, and not in 1956. But the brits promised Transylvanien in 1916 to Rumanien, or eastern Europe in 1943 to Stalin, just to save the own skin. Even Polen (their allies) came under Stalin's rule.

The Hungarian Revolution was not an anti-Communist uprising, it was a fight against the leadership and for freedom. Both men quote various rebel groups stating that they had no desire to bring back the bankers, capitalists, and Horthyites. It was started by COMMUNISTS.

I am very sorry about Hungary being allied with Hitler...Admiral Horthy was a piece of shit and the Hungarians did not deserve such a poor leader. I don't like what the West did (Not just to Hungary, but to Poland as well), but I think they feared the Soviets at the time and didn't want to satrt a new war, ten years after the last one.
